the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in radiology, particularly through computer-Aided Detection (CAD) systems, promises significant advancements in diagnostic accuracy, workflow optimization, and educational outcomes. Despite the potential benefits, challenges such as professional deskilling, overreliance on AI, and regulatory issues are still feared. this study aims to evaluate the practical, educational, and personal implications of introducing a CAD AI-tool in radiology residency. through a mixed-methods approach involving ten radiology residents, we want to assess the impact of AI on diagnostics, bias, workflow, and resident-supervisor interactions. In the study, we monitor and interview residents that are analyzing chest X-rays using the CAD system. Preliminary findings from pilot studies indicate a generally positive reception but highlight the need for improvements. this research seeks to provide insights into the responsible deployment of AI in radiology training.

More-than-human perspectives are gaining ground in human-computer interaction (HCI) research, but there is not yet any shared understanding in the community of what it entails. In this paper, we present the results from a scoping review on emerging more-than-human perspectives in HCI research. Based on a search focusing on the main concept in the ACM Digital Library, and the analysis of 40 papers in the final corpus, we outline the current status of various motivations, approaches and practices addressing more-than-human perspectives in HCI research. the contribution is a snapshot of the field, illustrated by examples, a discussion focused on the role of design within the current landscape of more-than-human perspectives in HCI research, and directions for moving the field forward.

the field of machine vision has witnessed a significant surge in the application of deep learning technology, as researchers increasingly leverage its capabilities in their work. While deep learning has been extensively used in object detection and semantic segmentation, research on deep learning-based instance segmentation has gained significant traction only in recent years. Instance segmentation is a computer vision task that is closest to the real human visual experience and provides a deep understanding of image scenes. Instance segmentation encompasses more than just pixel-level segmentation of various object categories;it also involves the ability to distinguish and separate individual instances within each category. It can be widely applied in fields such as autonomous driving, assisted medical treatment, and remote sensing imaging. this article systematically summarizes some typical instance segmentation models in two parts: two-stage and single-stage, analyzes and compares the advantages and disadvantages of different algorithms, and conducts performance tests on the COCO dataset. this article also provides a brief introduction to the COCO dataset and instance segmentation evaluation indicators. Finally, the possible future development directions and challenges faced by instance segmentation are discussed.
