Active Noise control (ANC) systems involve the application of many control engineering concepts which makes them suitable for control engineering education at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. the physics involved revolving around destructive noise interference through superposition is easily understood. the complexity of the system can be gradually increased from ideal to realistic cases to meet the required educational levels while introducing important control concepts like feedback and feedforward architecture, nonminimum phase, linearity and nonlinearity, time delay and multivariable systems. the ANC control methods are rich incorporating linear and nonlinear fixed nonadaptive and adaptive control, robust and optimal control, neural network, and fuzzy logic. the systems also enable introduction to deep learning, digital signal processing, and differences between analog and digital electronic systems. In this paper, the main control concepts, ideas, and methods applied in ANC in presented as a series of 'concept' to be addressed in control engineering education. Furthermore, this work aims towards translational research where the ideas and approach applicable to ANC may also be beneficial and adopted in other control applications. © 2023 ieee.

Recent years have seen significant expansion within Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) with increasing demand from sectors including reconnaissance, surveillance, and delivery. this paper focus on the modelling and control aspects specific to quadcopters, a popular type of UAV with an ambition to increase their stability quotient whilst accounting for factors like thrust, torque and aerodynamics guided by mathematical equations and physics laws governing their dynamics with use of MATLAB Simulink. For effective stabilization purposes design objective is generating proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controllers while testing simulations to gauge the controller's performance;the results highlight a reduction in oscillations and an increased stability with more favourable regulation of motion relatively than earlier. A physical quadcopter test then follows to cross-validate simulation findings for any subsequent required optimizations of existing PID controls. the project aims at contributing extensively towards enhancing UAV control through developing reliable and efficient PID controllers with specific focus towards quadcopters that can find application potential over other types of UAVs within this industry. © 2023 ieee.

In boiler control system, water level is regarded as an important process control parameter to ensure that the boiler could function efficiently. PID controller is the most used controller in controlling the water level. However, conventional PID is unable to control efficiently for the process that have high nonlinearity and high sensitivity. In this project, fuzzy logic controller plus PID control was introduced to the water level control in boiler system. the controller named as self-tuning fuzzy PID (STFPID) controller was proposed in this project to overcome the problem occurred. the controller is implemented in MATLAB and simulated in SIMULINK to analyze the performance analysis between conventional PID controller, FLC and STFPID controller. these controllers will be comparing their performance in terms of system response that includes percent overshoot (% OS), settling time (Ts) and rise time (Tr). Based on the analysis, the STFPID controller produces better performance than the PID and fuzzy logic controller in term of rise time, settling time and overshoot. © 2023 ieee.

this paper presents an optimum tuning on finite-time prescribed performance with PID (FT-PPC-PID) controller using the Evolutionary Mating Algorithm (EMA) approach for a pneumatic servo system's (PSS) rod-piston positioning. the design objective is to optimize the convergence rate and finite time of the prescribed performance function in error transformation in parallel with PID controller's gains. the multi-step input trajectory on the PPVDC model plant was used for simulations with specific load and random noise as disturbances. the results demonstrate that the controller optimized with EMA outperforms the same controller optimized with other methods in achieving dynamic multi-step positioning of the rod-piston. this highlights the significant enhancement in overall performance of PPVDC positioning, including the stability of its internal system, through the EMA-optimized finite-time prescribed performance controller with PID. © 2023 ieee.

Oxygen saturation (SpO2) is a critical parameter used to measure the amount of oxygen bound to hemoglobin in the bloodstream. Continuous monitoring and accurate records on the patient's SPO2 are crucial to assist doctors in assessing the effectiveness of treatment and the need for supplemental oxygen. therefore, this project proposes the development of a pulse oximeter device using dual RFID communication to enable continuous, real-time, and wireless data recording. the reading of SPO2 can vary in various situations. the evaluation to investigate significant factors that could affect the accuracy of SpO2 readings is carried out using the Design of Experiment and Analysis of Variance. the statistical analysis showed that the types of fingers and nail substances are the main factors that influence the accuracy of SpO2. the main effect plot shows that the SPO2 reading on the nail with oil substance and thumb gives the highest accuracy compared to other types of substance and types of fingers, respectively. © 2023 ieee.

Examining one's client status in depth, also known by its acronym 'Know Your Customer' (KYC), raises a significant problem that needs to be addressed thoroughly. As a result of this, the current paper examines the dynamics of client status and utilized 'Blockchain Technology' to developed KYC. Since earlier research was lacking in its capacity to establish a KYC system, which is utilized in the financial sector, principally by banks, to collect information mandated by law regarding their customers in order to provide access to financial services, it is important to note this deficiency. the existing system makes use of databases that are hosted on servers operated by private corporations or by organizations that have their own infrastructures. Traditional KYC systems come with several potential drawbacks, including a single point of failure (SPOF), tedious and time-consuming processes for customers, and high costs to construct one's own KYC identification and verification system. the aim of this project's proof-of-concept is to mitigate the effects of the identified issues through the utilization of blockchain technology. the system's ability to facilitate the data gathering and verification process was enhanced by the provision of previously registered KYC data by individual users through a single click, as well as the cross-checking of KYC data by bank users to verify their users' information. © 2023 ieee.

In today's competitive landscape, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) are increasingly embracing business data analytics to gain valuable insights and make informed decisions. However, the true essence of big data lies not only in its volume but also in the analysis process and the derived insights that aid managers in making effective business choices. Despite this, limited knowledge exists regarding SMEs' utilization of data analytics and its potential in facilitating informed decision-making. therefore, this paper aims to elucidate the concept of business data analytics within the context of SMEs and outline the essential requirements for its effective implementation, enabling SMEs to leverage data analytics for enhanced competitiveness. It is proposed that the foundation of a successful data analytics system for SMEs should encompass four key elements: data, people, technology, and process. the degree to which data analytics contributes to a firm's competitiveness is largely influenced by four factors: data quality, well-defined objectives, the caliber of analytic tools and techniques, and analytical skills. Data generates information and insights, which in turn foster knowledge that ultimately leads to wisdom. However, due to limited resources, SMEs may be less inclined to engage in advanced predictive and prescriptive analytics compared to larger firms. © 2023 ieee.

the recognition of faces in videos has recently gained considerable attention, but the recognition process executed on a single camera has limitations, especially when dealing with uncooperative subjects, changes in body posture, or self-occlusion. these challenges are particularly relevant in the context of studying facial analysis in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). therefore, the use of multiple cameras in a face recognition system is proposed to overcome these limitations. Facial image realignment was employed in the automatic face recognition process. To achieve this, the Kanade-Lucas-Tomasi (KLT) algorithm was used to track facial features, and the RANSAC algorithm was utilized to estimate the homography transformation for realigning the multi-view input images. To assess and compare the similarity of the fused image, the normalized cross-correlation (NCC) was employed. the resulting fused image was obtained based on the extracted pose of the face. the results demonstrate the efficacy of the method, achieving an accuracy of 94.5% for typically developed children and 87.3% for ASD children. © 2023 ieee.

the research and application of therapeutic robotics for children have gained significant attention. this study introduces a system for emotion recognition in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) children that utilizes infrared thermal imaging cameras to capture the frontal facial images. the paper focuses on the development to automate, recognize and track the subjects frontal face using the Shape-Adapted Mean Shift algorithm (SAMShift) applied to thermal images. this system targets the identification of affective states in ASD children and employs non-invasive thermal imaging instead of invasive sensor patches. By integrating tracking and affective state analysis within a single modality, the system addresses the limitations of traditional visual-based systems, which often suffer from invasiveness due to the use of sensor patches, difficulty in automating and tracking facial features, and challenges in accurately identifying affective states. the SAMShift algorithm, implemented in the LabVIEW® vision module environment, is utilized for tracking the frontal face image. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method, achieving an average accuracy of 89.20% and an average precision of 95.40%. this research contributes to advancing the field of therapeutic robotics for children with ASD by providing an automated, non-invasive, and accurate approach to emotion recognition. © 2023 ieee.
