Smart grids are becoming increasingly closer to consumers, especially residential consumers, bringing with them a wide range of possibilities. the level of information obtained on a smart grid will be much higher when compared to a traditional network and at this point, more informed consumers tend to consume more efficiently, bringing benefits to themselves and to the system. An interesting fact for control within a residence is forecasting consumption, allowing the consumer to know in advance how much to consume up to a certain period. Artificial neural networks are one of several methods used to forecast time series, however, require a high volume of historical data for the training of the network, given that these may not be accessible or even exist. At this point, the objective of this work is to evaluate the use of load curves obtained through computational tools for the pre-training of artificial neural networks used in the consumption forecast. A tool is used to create random load curves according to the region and socioeconomic characteristics. the load curves are transformed into cumulative consumption curves and used as training vectors of the artificial neural network. the results of the tests were very promising, they showed that the pretraining with the virtual data makes possible the forecast of the time series even in the absence of real data for the training, showing that the methodology developed has great potential of application in works related to the forecast consumption.

the paper is aimed at solving the problems of inconsistency, inaccuracy and non-real time of customer profile in the electric power marketing information system, and proposes the new methods of improving the customer profile in electric power marketing based on the big data analysis of customer's addresses. the core idea of the methods is that by the introduction of other industry data resources, the electricity address provided by electric power marketing information system and the customer address provided by other resources are analyzed with the big data technologies to achieve precise matching of these addresses. the address matching is followed by three steps: Chinese word segmentation with Hidden Markov Model algorithm, sentence similarity calculation based on the semantic and word order, and finally geographical coordinates matching for cross validation. Based on the matching results, the procedures of updating customer profile are processed respectively according to customer contact changes or changes in customer property rights, to achieve the consistency, accuracy and real-time data of customer profile. By implementing the automatic and intelligent operations of perfecting customer profile, the strong information support is provided for the marketing departments to enhance the "Internet+" electric power marketing services.

this position paper introduces the vision of Dispersed Automation, a novel approach for reprogramming the omnipresent Industrial Internet of things (IIoT) devices in critical infrastructure for the co-execution of general-purpose computation workloads in an optimal and reliable manner. the key observation is that IIoT devices are available in large quantities in critical infrastructure (e.g., micro-grids, water management and treatment, energy generation and transmission, manufacturing, buildings, and traffic) but are often underutilized due to the conservative allocation of resources, static task assignment, and lack of exploitation of parallelism that is intrinsic in redundant hardware. Dispersed Automation can give new life to IIoT devices, some of them as powerful as general-purpose computers, and can make them accessible for the co-execution of various computational workloads while dynamically adapting to different applications and operational environments. Two key technical innovations will make this possible: the use of a domain-specific language, and on-channel computation. this paper shows how Dispersed Automation can be an enabling technology for the implementation of smart manufacturing systems.

Currently, many of the elements that surround us in daily life need software systems that work from the information available in the domain (data-driven application domains) by performing a process of data mining from it. Between the data mining techniques used in everyday problems we find the k-Nearest Neighbors technique. However, in domains and real situations it is very common to find vague, ambiguous and noisy data, that is, imperfect information. Although this imperfect information is inevitable, most applications have traditionally ignored the need for developing appropriate approaches for representing and reasoning with such data imperfections. the soft computing field has dealt with the development of techniques that can work with this kind of information as discipline whose main characteristic is tolerance to inaccuracy and uncertainty. In this work, we extend the k-Nearest Neighbors technique using concepts and methods provided by Soft computing. the aim is to carry out the processes of instance selection and classification in everyday problems from imperfect information making the technique more realistic.

real-time 3D space understanding is becoming prevalent across a wide range of applications and hardware platforms. To meet the desired Quality of Service (QoS), computer vision applications tend to be heavily parallelized and exploit any available hardware accelerators. Current approaches to achieving real-time computer vision, evolve around programming languages typically associated with High Performance computing along with binding extensions for OpenCL or CUDA execution. Such implementations, although high performing, lack portability across the wide range of diverse hardware resources and accelerators. In this paper, we showcase how a complex computer vision application can be implemented within a managed runtime system. We discuss the complexities of achieving high-performing and portable execution across embedded and desktop configurations. Furthermore, we demonstrate that it is possible to achieve the QoS target of over 30 frames per second (FPS) by exploiting FPGA and GPGPU acceleration transparently through the managed runtime system.

the wheeled inverted pendulum robot has broad prospects of applications in real life. It can use two coaxial wheels to achieve the body self-balancing, forward moving and turning. But the general wheeled inverted pendulum robot seldom has vision function to perceive enviromental change. In order to realize the robust visual control, a wheeled inverted-pendulum vision robot with attitude sensors, photoelectric encoders, ultrasonic sensors and so on is designed based on Beaglebone Black board. the moving object is separated in the space domain by obtaining the image sequence which is sent by a robot-mounted camera, and the modeling, identification and tracking of target sequence are implemented in the time domain. the balance PD, speed PI and steering PD controllers are designed to realize the dynamic balance, forward and steering function of the robot. To satisfy the functional requirements of the visual tracking system, an improved tracking-learning-detection algorithm based on kernelized correlation filtering is used, and a tracking anomaly based on spatial context is detected to determine the tracking state and reduce the error rate. Experimental results show that the robot reaches the requirement of design and achieves better visual control effectiveness.

In this paper, we propose a novel planning method for the shape inspection applications with a sensor-equipped industrial manipulator. In the proposed approach, the view planning problem is formulated as a Set Covering Problem (SCP) and the path planning problem is formulated as a Travelling Salesman Problem (TSP). the combined SCP and TSP problems are then formulated as a sequencing problem, and solved simultaneously via Random-Key Genetic Algorithm (RKGA) in a one-step optimization process. With the proposed method, time-efficient and collision-free motion plan that satisfies the requirement of the robotic inspection tasks can be generated automatically. Computational studies were performed to verify the effectiveness of the proposed planning method. the method was found to outperform other approaches by generating robot paths that complete the inspection task with shorter execution time. the Overall time reductions were found up to 28.4% compared to the previous approaches. To further demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method in a real-world inspection task, an experimental test was also performed using an ABB industrial robotic system equipped with an on-board 3D scanner.

Vehicular Ad hoc Networks (VANETs) offer a wide variety of applications for intelligent transportation. VANET facilitates the drivers by generating alerts for hazards, warning and information messages related to traffic in real time. Health monitoring is one of the advanced applications in Wireless Body Area Network (WBAN) for health care in hospitals and home. VANET adds the comfort of communication between medical professionals and patients by facilitating the monitoring of patient while driving. this paper proposes an application prototype that uses WBAN for patient monitoring while driving. It analysis the health-data and generates alert messages to the care taker for emergency services with location information through VANET. the objective of this work is to increase flexibility and mobility to the long term patients (diabetes, heart/Blood pressure patients etc.,), elderly and special people (deaf and mute). the designed application for emergency alert systems uses WBAN and VANET for the target group. It provides simple and easy to use application interface to the customers.

Photovoltaic (PV) arrays connected in Series-Parallel (SP) configuration are widely used in PV installations of different power levels. Accurate and low calculation time models of SP arrays are required for different applications;however, the models available in literature have a high computational burden due to the requirement of solving nested systems of nonlinear equations. this paper introduces a mathematical model for SP arrays designed for parallel computing to improve the calculation speed. For a given array voltage the current of each string is calculated by solving a nonlinear equation, which is independent from the other strings. therefore, each nonlinear equation is solved in a different core and, finally, all the strings' currents are added to obtain the array current. Simulation results put into evidence the capacity of the proposed model to reproduce the characteristic curves of an SP array and the reduction in the calculation time with respect to an equivalent model available in literature.
