Delaunay triangulation (D-TIN) is an important graphic tool in computational geometry, which is not only widely used in many real applications, but also very significant for many spatial data mining algorithms. However, constructing Delaunay triangulation is time-consuming for most practical applications. distributed and parallel computing mechanism is becoming a good choice to solve large scale and compute-intensive D-TIN applications. this paper proposes a novel hybrid algorithm (HA) for D-TIN construction in cloud computing environment, which is based on a balanced binary-tree model and an elegant data structure called quad-edge. HA combines the divide & conquer approach and the incremental method. Moreover, a distributed and parallel version of Delaunay triangulation computing service in cloud is designed and implemented. the hybrid algorithm performed in both centralised and in cloud environments are compared. Experimental results showed that the hybrid D-TIN service outperforms both the the divide & conquer one and the incremental one, and it can effectively provide higher data mining services with fundamental D-TIN construction function in cloud.

As the data processing demands have been increasing, different types of data processing systems are being developed. the new programming systems have different characteristics like types of data handled, processing technique and performance. However, multiple new systems have introduced difficulties for non-expert users like choosing the right system and usage methodology of the new systems. In order to relieve the burden of common users of conducting data processing tasks and taking relevant advantage of the systems features, we intend to integrate the popular programming systems and provide more efficient data processing services. In this paper, we propose to address the task scheduling problem for integrating multiple programming systems. We have designed a cluster based approach for task scheduling across multiple programming systems. this approach helps in minimizing the makespan of workilows and resource consumption. the simulation results show that the proposed approach can reduce the resource consumption significantly while achieving a low makespan for the workfiows.

In virtualized system, both redundancy and inspection-based maintenance has been used to maintain reliability. Analysis is often conducted on a single strategy;and the overall impact of a joint mechanism has not been analyzed in detail. So, a method is presented to analyze the reliability and performance of virtualized system with the joint mechanism. the reliability and performance indicators are based on the Markov chain constructed from the state transition diagram for the joint mechanism. Sensitivity analysis is conducted to analyze the impact of system configuration parameters change. Empirical studies show the process of evaluation model and sensitivity analysis. Changing the value of redundancy and inspection rate value, the system reliability and performance could be calculated through the analysis method. the increase of redundancy leads to the increase of reliability and performance rate. Whereas, the increase in inspection rate could only improve the performance to an extent. the influence of both parameters declines rapidly as the value increases.

In the paper, a city educational resources assignment problem (CERAP) is raised. the combination of big data, multi-agent model and cellular automata (CA) methodologies are argued and developed. then, the agent-based computational framework is discussed to the educational social science control (assignment) system. the proposed methodologies provides a powerful way to address nonlinearities, humanities, and especially interdisciplinary control problem. Agent-based modeling offers powerful new forms of hybrid theoretical-computational work. the agent-based approach invites the interpretation of society as a distributed computational network, and in turn the interpretation of social dynamics as a type of computation. then, the simulation tools are mentioned. Finally, a short discussion and conclusion end this paper.

Interpretation of Chinese address information, which refers to translating the non-specification Chinese address into the concrete administration divisions, is a critical prerequisite in Internet geography semantic comprehension and Chinese address navigation. In this paper, We proposed Multi-factor(MF) Inference technology to solve the problem of vague address semantics. Firstly, we define the location and match factors of each geographical element in a series of address, which need to be included in a various address relationship. Secondly, the reliability of each possible address string is inferred. Finally, the highest reliability is choosed. Expriments show that our method outperforms current state-of-the-art methds.

Various services such as location-based service (LBS) allow mass collection of spatio-temporal data because the ubiquity of cheap embedded sensors on smart phones. therefore, the individual privacy-preserving is receiving increasing attention during the data publication. However, the inherent inaccuracy of data acquisition equipments, sampling error and low sampling rate may lead to uncertainty. In this paper, we propose a privacy-preserving approach for trajectory publication with considering the uncertainty in trajectory. the correlation between two trajectories are computed according to the temporal overlap similarity, the trajectory direction similarity and the distance between trajectories with uncertainty. then a greedy algorithm is proposed to achieve k-anonymity based on graph partition. the analysis and experiment evaluations based on the GeoLife trajectory data set show that significant privacy and QoS benefits can be achieved.

In a proxy re-encryption (PRE) scheme, a semitrusted proxy can convert a ciphertext under Alice's public key into another ciphertext that Bob can decrypt without accessing the underlying plaintext. this property adds flexibility in various applications, such as cloud data sharing. In this paper, we study CCA-secure, single-hop unidirectional PRE schemes without pairings. We gain high efficiency and public verifiability which enables anyone to publicly verify the validity of the original ciphertexts and re-encrypted ciphertexts. With public verifiability, we can offload the integrity check of the wellformedness of ciphertexts from power-restrained clients to any honest-but-curious untrusted public cloud for improved efficiency.

In this article, we propose a fully distributed algorithm for finding all primes in a given interval [2..n] (or (L, R), more generally), based on the SMER - Scheduling by Multiple Edge Reversal - multigraph dynamics. Given a multigraph M of arbitrary topology, having N nodes, an SMER-driven system is defined by the number of directed edges (arcs) between any two nodes of M, and by the global period length of all "arc reversals" in M. In the domain of prime numbers generation, such a graph method shows quite elegant, and it also yields a totally new kind of distributed prime sieving algorithms of an entirely original design. the maximum number of steps required by the algorithm is at most n + root n. Although far beyond the O(n/log log n) steps required by the improved sequential "wheel sieve" algorithms, our SMER-based algorithm is fully distributed and of linear (step) complexity. the message complexity of the algorithm is at Most n Delta(N) + root n Delta(N), where Delta(N) denotes the maximum "multidegree" of the arbitrary multigraph M, and the space required per process is linear.

Scientific computing is a field that applies computer science to solve scientific problems from domains like genetics, biology, material science, chemistry etc. It is strongly associated with high performance computing (HPC) and parallel programming fields as scientific computing typically utilizes large scale computer modeling and simulation and thus requires large amounts of computer resources. Public clouds seem to be very suitable for solving scientific computing problems, but they are often built on commodity hardware and it's not simple to design applications that can efficiently utilize large amounts of computing resources. this paper gives an overview of a study that researches the use of distributed computing frameworks like MapReduce to greatly simplify solving scientific computing problems in the cloud and compares how well the results measure up to the current de facto standard practices of the distributed computing field.

Xgrid Technical Preview 2 is a distributed computing software technology from Apple Computer, Inc. Xgrid leverages the UNIX-based capabilities of Mac OS X to enable the rapid aggregation of Macintosh systems into a simple yet powerful computational grid which can run a wide range of standard and custom solutions with minimal code changes. To demonstrate the technology, the software is run on a networked rack of Xserve G5 servers and a PowerBook G4 laptop. the demonstration shows how Xgrid is utilized to distribute long-running batch and parallel jobs to a local grid of Mac OS X-based computers.
