Conventional binary descriptor only uses limited spatial information from original image patch, such as BRIEF, which will result in limited discriminative power. We settle this problem through further excavating feature information and propose a binary descriptor encoding not only intensity comparison information but also intensity order information. Results based on experiments of performance evaluation have shown that the proposed binary descriptor outperforms other binary descriptors under rotation and scale changes.

In this paper, we present a new design rationale knowledge evaluation method which is to measure the design rationale knowledge comprehensive value. In this method, we also characterizes the design rationale knowledge value from four perspectives, and the method can provide object metric and selection basis for the design rationale knowledge reuse during the product design process. this paper describes a novel method for retrieving 3D models. Following the principle of compound-eye vision, the proposed method represents a 3D model as a spherical image, and discriminates different 3D models using their corresponding spherical images. Meanwhile, by borrowing the concept of the Scale-Invariant Feature Transform (SIFT) algorithm, we design a feature extraction algorithm, named Spherical-SIFT, for extracting the salient local features on spherical images. Moreover, the Bag-of-Features approach is employed so as to achieve efficient comparison of different 3D models. the experimental results show the superior performance of our method over pervious methods.

To capture detailed routing congestion factors in sub-90nm technology nodes, we propose a practical congestion model embedded in 3-D global routing grid graph. Using a concept of pass-through capacity and demand, intra-gcell congestion contributed by fat vias, stacked vias, local nets and related design rules can be measured and optimized. Proposed congestion model is compatible with existing widely-used path search algorithms in global routing. Experimental results validate proposed model, and demonstrate that 42% less design rule violations and 46% shorter full-flow routing runtime, as well as 3% shorter wirelength and 4% less via count in detailed routing results can be achieved using proposed congestion model in global routing stage.

Tensor field design plays an essential role in various computergraphics applications. One of the main challenges in field design is how to obtain a smooth field preserving meaningful singularities presented in the original scene. Compared with well-studied point singularities, line singularities, commonly occur on object boundaries and occluding contours, are not exploited enough for field design in previous work. In this paper, we discuss the definition of line singularities, and introduce a line-singularity-based interactive tensor field design method, allowing the user to design feature-preserving tensor fields with less effort and to preserve both input singularities and user-specified stroke directions. To avoid introducing extra interaction burdens to the user, our method automatically locates line singularities using a geodesic-based segmentation. We demonstrate the capabilities of our method on tensor field design with various nonphotorealistic rendering applications and the real-time performance accelerated on GPU.

Multi-voltage technique is an effective way of power saving in system-on-a-chip ( SoC) designs. However, as the technology nodes continue to shrink, the voltage drop constraint in multiple power domains presents serious obstacles in power/ground ( P/G) network design of wire-bonding package. In this paper, a voltage drop aware power pad assignment and floorplanning method for multi-voltage SoC designs is proposed. In order to reduce the voltage drop, we develop a fast method to calculate the location of power pad for each power domain based on the spring model. During floorplanning iterations, a static voltage drop analysis is performed to update the voltage drop distribution, and then number of violation nodes in the P/G network is obtained. To speed up the floorplanning algorithm, instead of time-consuming matrix computation to obtain voltage drops, we use the weighted distance from blocks to power pads as an optimization objective. Experimental results on GSRC benchmark suites indicate that the proposed approach generates an optimized placement of power pads and floorplanning of blocks.
