E-commerce logistics park is zoned and planned to achieve highly efficient order fulfilment process while adapting to the increasing demands. However, how to improve the sharing, coordination and synchronization of resources (e.g. operators, machines, spaces and tools) across multi-echelon E-commerce logistics chain is still challenging. this paper introduces a multi-layer physical internet (PI)-enabled cloud platform to enable logistics assets virtualization and real-time control, reconfigurable task coordination and execution as well as simultaneous-and-punctual process synchronization.

In this paper we propose two decentralized medium access control (MAC) schemes to coordinate the access of multiple transmitters adopting a Multi-Packet Reception (MPR) physical (PHY) layer. the proposed MAC schemes operate over a MPR-based PHY-layer and are divided in two stages. In the first stage the nodes indicate their willingness to transmit, while in the second one they jointly transmit. the MAC schemes differ by considering a Single-Packet Reception (SPR) or a MPR PHY-layer in the first stage. We analyze the throughput achieved by each MAC in a theoretical way. Several results obtained through simulation are also presented, which validate the numerical results obtained with the theoretical model. the results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed MAC schemes, and allow us to draw valuable conclusions about the design of distributed MPR systems.

LoRaWAN is emerging as an attractive network infrastructure for ultra low power internet of thing devices. Albeit the technology itself is quite mature and specified, how to effectively allocate wireless resources so as to support a large amount of devices in a same terrestrial area is an open challenge. this paper contributes by proposing two algorithms (of incremental complexity) which are shown to outperform the basic Adaptive Rate Strategy (ADR) so far considered. A first approach, named EXPLoRa-SF, shows the benefits of a simple strategy which does not limit to use (as per ADR) distance/RSSI measurements, but also selects Spreading Factors (SF) based on the total number of connected devices. the advantages attained with EXPLoRa-SF further lead us to propose a more sophisticated algorithm, named EXPLoRa-AT, which employs an innovative 'ordered waterfilling' approach which attempts to allocate the spreading factors so as to equalize the Time on Air of the packets transmitted by the system's end devices in each spreading factor's group. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithms significantly outperform the basic ADR strategy, and particularly the EXPLoRa-AT algorithm appears very robust to different operating conditions and consistently guarantees high bit rates in the case of high traffic loads. © 2017 IEEE.

this paper discusses the foundational elements for Next Generation frameworks based on the emerging principles and technologies in the context of distributed collaboration in two diverse fields (manufacturing and surgery). the Next Generation 'smart' collaborative frameworks discussed in this paper are influenced by several emerging fields and technologies;these include Advanced Virtual Reality and Haptic (Touch) based technologies to support collaborative interactions among distributed users along with emerging practices based on internet of things (IoT), Cyber Physical Systems (CPS), Cloud computing and Future internet networking approaches. the foundational elements revolve around 3 key facets of Information Centric Engineering (ICE) which include Modeling, Simulation and Exchange (MSE) of Information. We discuss the creation of such IoT based cyber physical frameworks using these MSE elements for two of these domains: one is advanced manufacturing;the other is the field of medical surgical training. the design of such IoT based Cyber Physical frameworks is discussed along with implementation aspects of two advanced Test Beds.

the NarrowBand internet of things (NB-IoT) is one of the most promising technologies that fits the requirements of the low-power wide area networks (LPWAN). NB-IoT targets on supporting communications for small amount of data during a relatively long period of time (i.e., delay tolerant), which is one of the key features of IoT applications. Several studies have been conducted by some standard working groups to define the standards for NB-IoT. For example, the working group 3GPP aims to provide communication protocols with low energy consumption, good coverage penetration, and so on. Compared with the existing wireless communication protocols, less spectrum is allocated for NB-IoT. thus, how to more efficiently use the resource/spectrum (i.e., resource allocation and scheduling) is one of the key issues. In this paper, we first describe the design of the physical layer for the downlink communication, especially the scheduling process. Secondly, we discuss the issues for resource allocation in NB-IoT while the delay requirement in the physical layer is satisfied. thirdly, we discuss the open questions and possible solutions.

In this paper we propose a novel IoT platform, called SoPIoT, that is different from existing IoT platforms in several aspects. Since a device is abstracted with a set of services it provides, any computing resources can be easily integrated in the platform. In addition, SoPIoT allows a user to define a composite service dynamically at run-time by a script language program. To this end, a high-level script language is defined to easily express a composite service. To SoPIoT, the IoT system looks like a distributed system that consists of many computing resources, running multiple applications concurrently where an application corresponds to a composite service. the central middleware maps and schedules the services to the computing resources. the scalability of SoPIoT is achieved by forming the hierarchy of middlewares. © 2017 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

In In-band Full-duplex (IBFD) wireless networks, the RTS/CTS mechanism is unable to establish an asymmetric dual link and to recognize the transmission mode of communication nodes to capture more opportunities of IBFD transmission, which limits total network throughput. In this paper, we propose a novel distributed IBFD MAC mechanism to establish symmetric/asymmetric dual link in wireless networks. Here we fully consider the two modes of asymmetric dual transmission. By medium access, the neighbors of communication nodes can clearly know network transmission status, which will provide extra opportunities of asymmetric IBFD dual communication. Finally, we develop a Markov model to characterize the non-saturation throughput of our proposed mechanism in IBFD wireless networks. the numerical results show that the throughput of IBFD network with our scheme nearly doubles that of HD network with RTS/CTS. Moreover, the non-saturation degree of the network has little influence on the throughput of our mechanism.

Nowadays Cloud computing services are becoming a necessity due to the huge evolution of internet technology and the need of outsourcing data into external servers. However, data externalization introduces several issues. Access control is one of the most challenging issues, it must ensure data confidentiality through enforced and flexible access policies. Revocation is one of the important tasks of access control process, generally, it consists on banishing some roles from users on the system. Ciphertext-policy attribute-based encryption is a promising cryptographic method. It provides fine-grained access which makes it very useful in case of group-sharing applications. However, the challenge of this method is the revocation. through few past years, there have been many proposed revocation solutions on ABE, but these solutions still lack of efficiency. In this paper, we propose an access control mechanism with an immediate and efficient attributes or users revocation. Our solution uses CP-ABE for a flexible and fine grained access while it provides collusion resistance, supports scalability and does not require neither re-keying mechanisms nor keys redistribution.
