Supporting group decision-making in ubiquitous contexts is a complex task that needs to deal with a large amount of factors to be successful. Here we propose an approach for a negotiation model to support the group decision-making process specially designed for ubiquitous contexts. We propose a new look into this problematic, considering and defining strategies to deal with important points such as the type of attributes in the multi-criteria problem and agents' reasoning. Our model uses a social networking logic due to the type of communication employed by the agents as well as to the type of relationships they build as the interactions occur. Our approach intends to support the ubiquitous group decision-making process in a similar way to the real process, which simultaneously preserves the amount and quality of intelligence generated in face-to-face meetings and is adapted to be used in a ubiquitous context.

the past years have shown an increase in the both number and sophistication of cyber-attacks targeting Windows and Linux operating systems. Traditional network security solutions such as firewalls are incapable of detecting and stopping these attacks. In this paper, we describe our distributed firewall solution Distfw and its integration with a sandbox for malware analysis and detection. We demonstrate the effectiveness and shortcomings of such a solution. We use Cuckoo to perform automated analysis of malware samples and compare the results withthe ones from manual analysis. We discover that Cuckoo provides similar results in a considerable amount of time.

Software-Defined networking (SDN), enabled by Open Flow, represents a paradigm shift from traditional network to the future Internet. Replicate or distributed controllers have been proposed to address the issues of availability and scalability that a centralized controller suffers from. However, it lacks a flexible mechanism to balance load among distributed controllers. To address this problem, this paper presents DALB, a dynamic and adaptive algorithm for controller load balancing totally based on distributed architecture, without any centralized component. this algorithm is running as a module of SDN controller. On one hand, it adopts an adjustable load collection threshold so as to reduce the overhead of exchanging messages for load collection, and on the other hand it can make policy and election locality in order to reduce the decision delay caused by network transmission. In this paper, we build the prototype system on floodlight to demonstrate our design and test the performance of our algorithm.

During a disaster, it is important to exchange information such as the magnitude of the disaster and safety confirmation. However, the communication infrastructure, such as a mobile phone network, may not be available after a large-scale disaster because current communication infrastructures have centralized control structures. thus, it is important to design a network that can maintain a normal service using the remaining network resources, such as base stations and user terminals, even if the central servers are no longer available because of disconnections among servers. In this study, we developed a distributed SNS service, or autonomous distributed network, based on named data networking (NDN) with two-tier hierarchical ID-based encryption (HIDE) for authentication. We conducted a simulation of a residential area in the suburbs of Tokyo to demonstrate the performance of this SNS application, where it was used to disseminate safety confirmation. We present the average message delivery time with different decision intervals, the synchronization intervals, and the ratios of moving people.
In this paper, we show that for elections in distributed systems the conversion from non-binary choices to binary choices does not always provide optimal results when the preferences of nodes are not identical. With t...
