In recent years, there has been significant growth in mobile wireless sensor networks (WSNs), yet prevailing research has primarily focused on 2D planar deployments, overlooking the importance of three-dimensional (3D) coverage in various applications. this oversight leads to ineffective data gathering due to incomplete area coverage and network connectivity. In previous researches (Boufares et al. in: 2018 31 IEEE/ACS 15thinternationalconference on computer systems and applications (AICCSA), Aqaba, Jordan, pp 1-8, 2018, in: 13thinternational wireless communications and mobile computingconference (IWCMC), Valencia, pp 1628-1633, 2017, in: IEEE wireless communications and mobile computingconference (IWCMC), Dubrovnik, Croatia, pp 563-568, 2015a, in: the 4thinternationalconference on performance evaluation and modeling in wired and wireless networks (PEMWN), Hammamet, Tunisia, pp 103-108, 2015b), we proposed 3D mobile autonomous redeployment strategies based on the Virtual Forces Algorithm, tailored for diverse configurations: 3D volume applications such as smart homes or agriculture, 3D flat surfaces like snow monitoring, and 3D terrain surfaces like volcano monitoring. Our approach ensured complete coverage and connectivity in these scenarios. Moreover, energy efficiency emerges as a critical concern, given the autonomous and mobile nature of sensor nodes operating on finite battery power. Hence, in this paper, we provide an overview of our previous results, highlighting the efficacy of our 3D mobile autonomous redeployment strategies across various configurations. Subsequently, we delve into an in-depth analysis of the energy consumption associated withthe different proposed contributions. Building upon these insights, we propose an energy harvesting approach aimed at extending the operational lifespan of mobile 3D WSNs, thus ensuring sustained functionality in diverse real-world *** these contributions, we address critical challenges and p

this paper explores the applications of distributed Ledger Technologies (DLTs) in Peer-to-Peer (P2P) electricity trading. It highlights the challenges and trade-offs of applying three different DLTs: Blockchain, Directed Acyclic Graph (DAG), and Holochain. First, the study introduces the energy transition concept in the smart city context. Second, P2P electricity trading and its supporting trading mechanisms are introduced. third, DLTs are defined and three different types of DLTs are introduced. Forth, possibilities, challenges, and consequences of applying DLTs in electricity trading are explained. Last, applying DLTs for P2P electricity trading from different aspects are discussed. this paper provides a benchmark for applying DLTs to foster energy transition in smart cities. It highlights how this type of technology can serve smart circular economy.

Today human-machine dialogues performed and moderated by chat bots are ubiquitous. Commonly, centralised and server-based chat bot software is used to implement rule-based and intelligent dialogue robots. Furthermore, human networking is not supported. Rule-based chat bots typically implement an interface to a knowledge data base in a more natural way. the dialogue topics are narrowed and static. Intelligent chat bots aim to improve dialogues and conversational quality over time and user experience. In this work, mobile agents are used to implement a distributed, decentralised, serverless dialogue robot network that enables ad-hoc communication between humans and machines (networks) and between human groups via the chat bot network (supporting personalized and mass communication). I.e., the chat bot networks aims to extend the communication and social interaction range of humans, especially in mobile environments, by a distributed knowledge and data base approach. Additionally, the chat bot network is a sensor data acquisition and data aggregator system enabling large-scale crowd-based analytics. A first proof-of-concept demonstrator is shown identifying the challenges arising with self-organising distributed chat bot networks in resource-constrained mobile networks. the novelty of this work is a hybrid chat bot multi-agent architecture enabling scalable distributed and adaptive communicating chat bot networks.

this paper performs an analysis on emergent peerto-peer (p2p) electricity trading markets utilizing the resourcebased theory based on the sharing economy concept to identify possible opportunities for assets/data sharing amongst existing and emerging market players. First, the study introduces actors in the future electricity market and identifies their objectives. Second, valuable resources of each actor are recognized and categorized under physical and digital groups. third, interested actors in each resource and benefits they can gain by having access to the resource are discussed. Last, a matrix of sharing opportunities amongst the actors in the electricity market is built and the current state of sharing is compared withthe possibilities in the future. this paper provides and serves as a benchmark for implementing the sharing economy concept in future design of electricity markets. It highlights sharing opportunities as a means for circular economy in the electricity market. Implementing the identified sharing opportunities requires more collaborative (open) business models.

Smart Farming has the goal to support farmers in their various activities, i.e., achieve best results in quality and quantity of their products, with low and efficient resource usage, working in sustainable manners etc. For that, a lot of information is needed, e.g., about the current state of the monitored agricultural area. Typically this requires a large number of sensors which collect important sensor data at predefined intervals. For further evaluation such data is usually processed in a central place, for which it must first be transferred from the field to a data sink at the farm premises. Cellular networks could be used for such data transmissions, but the network deployment in rural areas is costly with less likely revenues. thus, mobile operators are not eager to roll out their networks in rural areas so that they are often not well covered. In this paper we introduce PotatoScanner, a mobile Delay Tolerant Wireless sensor Node (DTWSN) that closes this gap and acts withthe help of a field sprayer as a data mule for the collected data. In addition, PotatoScanner itself has sensors to obtain further information about the cultivated field. the paper provides an overview of the overall system and analyses the measurement data obtained in real operation over the past two years 2017 and 2018.
