the advancements in internet technology have had a tremendous impact on the development of knowledge-basedengineeringsystemsthat support concurrent engineering. Not only the conventional knowledge acquisition and representation techniques need to be improved to adapt the new situation, but the information retrieval and distribution have arisen to be new questions to answer. this article addresses these issues of management and handling of knowledge in a knowledge-basedintelligent design system. A search algorithm based on the computation of a similarity index is proposed to retrieve a design case from the project library. An initial design report is used to distribute design information so that the information such as a designer's intent which cannot be included in a standard CAD file, can be retained. In addition, a simple constraint definition frame is presented to define the relationships between critical design parameters, and two information representation schemas, information matrix and constraint tree, are described. the presented research efforts in this article aim to provide promising tools to harness the full potential of ontologies in knowledge management within an intelligent design system.

Gilbert's Behavior engineering Model provides a framework for evaluating effective knowledge management systems. However, this model lacks continuous testing in the training landscape of companies today. this study tests the utility of the Behavior engineering Model to identify a gap in a knowledge management system. the case study follows nine airline workers through a post-training performance assessment. Results reveal trainees obtain inaccurate performance reports from supervisors. the Behavior engineering Model reveals a lack of supervisor feedback prevents knowledge transfer in this training environment. Both of these performance deficits are due to areas of need in Gilbert's first component of the model: data. Utilizing contemporary studies calling for current research into Gilbert's model, this case study aims to show how the Behavior engineering Model is relevant to knowledge management systems today.

In that case, it is needed for train operators to recover the transport volume by their operating skills. In this study, we proposed an operating method considering the change of constraint conditions by intelligent control using an intelligent operating support system based on operating knowledge of expert operators in the dynamic environment. By providing appropriate support information to operators, it is confirmed that the proposed method is effective for shortening arrival time and the recovery of transport volume in such environment.

Artificial bee colony algorithm is an efficient intelligent algorithm which is widely used in different subjects. this paper adopts the artificial bee colony optimization algorithm in searching global optimized points of edge detection, and improves the method of searching for neighbor edge points based on the global optimized points to get the final edge detection figure. Four parameters in the whole algorithm are discussed clearly. the presented idea that the onlooker bees and some of the scout bees carry important subtle edge information is proved correct in this paper.

Applying the theories of knowledge representation in Artificial Intelligence as well as knowledgeengineering, this paper focuses on the properties of urban tourism recommendation of e-Commerce and discusses the intelligence, science and visualization of tourism recommendation system based on WebGIS. A knowledge-based tree-like representation for the actual problems of urban tourism recommendation has been put forward, an organization pattern of knowledgebase and a design solution of reasoning machine for urban tourism recommendation based on WebGIS are presented. At the same time, the system frame of urban tourism recommendation based on WebGIS and the relative processing flow-chart of key module are designed. At last, the urban tourism recommendation system is realized by using JSP and MapXtreme. this research is an interaction among Artificial Intelligence, knowledgeengineering and GIS, and shows by means of simulation system that the mapping solution is very well suited for establishing the intelligent urban tourism information system under e-Commerce based on WebGIS. Finally, potential issues for future research are presented.
