A recently proposed parameter extraction procedure, derived from a charge-based GFET compact model, has been employed in the present study to validate small-signal parameters from two short channel RF GFETs at the Quasi Static regime for a wide range of bias conditions, including charge neutrality point (CNP). For specific analog/RF applications that operate around CNP, multifunctionality property, which is essential for the optimization of the circuit-design through reduction of power consumption, can be assured by accurate modeling of the ambipolar region of GFETs including the CNP. Experimental data of the most critical small-signal parameters such as non-reciprocal intrinsic capacitances, unity-gain and maximum oscillation frequencies as well as of the current and power gains are decently characterized by the extracted model parameters.

Tracking small targets on the sea surface has always been a challenging issue in the field of maritime target monitoring. Traditional methods typically rely on specific dynamic equations to establish the motion state model of the target (such as CV, CA, and CT models or their combinations), which struggle to accurately represent the motion states of small targets under complex sea conditions. We propose a method that incorporates deep learning to predict the dynamic fluctuations of sea waves, integrating real-time wave state information into the target state model. this method, which fuses sea wave dynamic prediction information, aims to improve the tracking of small sea surface targets. Firstly, we simulate various sea conditions based on the Elfouhaily wave spectrum to establish a database of small target motion trajectories on the sea surface. then, we employ an LSTM network with a dual-stage attention mechanism to predict wave heights, which are subsequently fed into the state transition model. We utilize the Extended Kalman Filter for tracking. Simulation results demonstrate that with the assistance of sea wave dynamic prediction information, the proposed method enhances target tracking accuracy by approximately 14% compared to traditional methods.

the repeatability of radar sensor tests is of high importance, in order to allow for a better comparability. Guaranteeing consistent test conditions is therefore essential. this article describes a radar target simulator able to simulate a traffic scenario for chirp-sequence frequency modulated continuous wave radar sensors, based on measurement data. First, the system setup is briefly presented, that is used to generate the targets, afterwards the major challenges and required signal processing steps are laid out. Finally, a comparison between the original measured scenario data and the replayed version is conducted.

small object detection is one of the research hotspots and challenges in the field of machine vision. Because small targets have fewer pixels in the image, the number of features captured by the first few layers of the target detection network is very small, and the high-level semantic information such as feature classification disappears quickly, making the accuracy of target detection relatively low. the paper uses sub-pixel convolution to reconstruct feature information, uses SE (Squeeze-and-Excitation) attention mechanism to enhance features, and uses U-Net network to capture feature context information and has the advantages of faster detection speed. the algorithm realizes the fast and accurate identification of small targets. Numerical experimental results on the COCO data set and the SUN data set show that the algorithm improved performance by more than 12% in the case of the bounding box AP compared with mainstream algorithms such as YOLOv4. © 2021 IEEE.

this paper describes the methodology for analyzing upper limb motion data derived from a novel Gamified Motion Control Assessment platform that is based on a virtual 3D game environment. the gamified approach targets patients experiencing upper-limb movement hindrances, typically caused by neuromuscular disorders. the leap motion controller is used for interaction. the game guides the avatar to move along the X and Y axis following specific paths. the avatar mimics the movement of the user's hand that performs these movements for rehabilitation. In order to use this method for the training and assessment patient's motion, a quantified approach that uses the game-based motion for patient assessment is required. Besides simple game scores that are often used, the proposed data analysis aims to elaborate on the discrimination between pathological and healthy movement with a machine learning approach, as well as the quantification of the patient's progress over time. For this purpose, movement and performance-related features were extracted from the leap sensor recordings and their value was explored towards characterizing the patient state and progress in detail. A dataset with multiple recordings from patients and healthy individuals was used for this purpose. All patients suffered from neuromuscular disorders. the features with the highest discriminatory value between the two groups were subsequently used to develop a set of classifiers for different sets of movements (e.g., horizontal, diagonal, vertical). A patient was left out of the classifier creation procedure and used for external validation. the models achieved high accuracy (92.13%). these results are deemed promising for the quantification of a patient's progress.

Considering the characteristics of electromagnetic scattering of radar observation targets, it is possible to introduce compressed sensing theory into computational imaging. For the sparse undersampling problem of scene data, it is required to achieve higher reconstruction accuracy with lower complexity. However, it is often difficult to construct and solve the sparse representation dictionary in complex scenarios, and it is difficult to fully exploit the correlation and sparsity between data. In addition, the design of observation matrix and reconstruction algorithm is also difficult. In this paper, the imaging problem is modeled as an inverse scattering problem based on the mathematical model of metasurface antenna imaging, and the feasibility of the near-field computational imaging method of generative adversarial network is analyzed from the perspective of solving the inverse problem. Using the measured radiation field data to conduct imaging experiments, the network can reconstruct the imaging target quickly and with high quality under the condition of low scene compressed ratio, which verifies the effectiveness and robustness of the method.

Word Sense Disambiguation (WSD) is an essential step for any NLP system;it can improve the performance of a more complex task, like information extraction, named entity linking, among others. Consequently, any error, while disambiguating a term, spreads to later stages with a snowball effect. Knowledge-based strategies for WSD offer the advantage of wider coverage of medical terminology than supervised algorithms. In this research, we present a knowledge-based approach for word sense disambiguation that can use different semantic similarity measures to determine the correct sense of a term in a given context. Our experiments show that when our approach used WordNet-based similarity measures, it achieved a very close performance when using the semantic measures based on word embeddings. We also constructed a small dataset from real-world data, where the feedback received from the annotators made us distinguish between true ambiguous terms and vague terms. this distinction needs to be considered for future research for WSD algorithms and dataset construction. Finally, we analyzed a state-of-the-art dataset with linguistic variables that helped to explain our approach's performance. Our analysis revealed that texts containing a high score of lexical richness and a high ratio of nouns and adjectives lead to better WSD performance.

In this paper, a novel type of multimode fiber (MMF), characterized by an inverse hyperbolic tangent (IHTAN) index profile is proposed and designed for the robust transmission of 14 orbital angular momentum (OAM) mode groups (MG). Large inter group separation (≥1×10-4) is numerically achieved between OAM-MG (14 MG). this clearly outperforms the currently available data channels supported by the standard graded index MMF (OM3) and recent designed OAM-fibers. Various performance metrics such as chromatic dispersion (-76.53 [ps/***]), differential group delay (-10.28 [ps/m]), and the possible use of small-scale multiple input multiple output digital signal processing (MIMO DSP) blocks are evaluated showing that the proposed IHTAN-MMF could be a viable candidate for next generation short haul optical interconnect. © 2022 IEEE.

In this paper, we propose a fingerprinting-based localization method in the 5G millimeter-wave (mmWave) smallcell channel. the proposed method uses measurements that do not require additional processes to collect, such as synchronization signal-reference signal received power (SS-RSRP) used for synchronization between the user and base station in 5G communication and transmitter (TX) beam ID data as fingerprint data. With the collected data and a deep neural network (DNN)based pattern matching model, we evaluate the localization performance in 5G small-cell environments. As a result, the proposed method achieves localization root-mean-squared-error (RMSE) of 2.76m, which can be applicable to the actual smallcell environment.

Marine microalgae detection is of great importance to the environment and ecosystem. In this paper, we consider microalgae detection as a computer vision task and use a two-stage object detection network, Cascade R-CNN, to build our detector and deal with the dataset which contains a variety of small targets. Firstly, We proposed a novel data augmentation strategy called SimpleCopy for microscopic images, which typically have more small targets and sparse target distributions. Secondly, we leverage the strengths of different backbone and employ model ensemble techniques to enhance the performance of our detector. Finally, with carefully designed post-processing methods, the recall and precision of our detector can be further improved. Extensive experiments conducted on the marine dataset show the superiority of our model. We verified the effectiveness of our method by achieving 58.18 mAP and ranked 3/347 on the official leadboard. © 2022 IEEE.
