Modern telecommunications networks and classical roles of operators are subject to fundamental change. In the age of Web expansion, many network operators are currently seeking for new ways to create and provide applications on top of converging extreme Modelnetworks. Enabling user generated services as well as the smooth integration of communications services into mash-ups and other 3 rd party services is a key capability for the service creation environments. In this paper we describe our approach to enabling extreme model driven design of parlay X-based communications services, which is a standardized collection of Web services that expose next generation networks (NGN) core services to 3 rd parties. We explain how to integrate parlay X services in a service creation environment adequate for easy, user-level mash-up design as a human-computer interaction during service design and creation phase. We illustrate the integration into end-to-end multiplatform service orchestrations by means of an assisted living scenario that has been exhibited at the German CeBIT 2009 fair to show how human beings may interact with automated processes through real-time communication channels.

software engineering (SE) practitioners must follow mature and quality processes, so that they can compete in an industry that demands quality products. In order to address this need, SEI proposed a personal methodology called PSP to improve the SE skill set of practitioners. In Latin American, there are more than 1200 professionals certified in this methodology, but the number should be higher if indeed PSP helps improving SE skills. this work uses data from job advertisements portals and survey to recruiters to find out what are the soft skills requested by companies in the Latin American software industry and compare them with the responses of PSP professionals regarding what are the strengths of PSP formation. the comparison brought favorable results. then, a proposal of integration of PSP into the Curriculum of a software engineering career is presented. © 2018 Academia. the article outlines a methodology for designing multimedia applications for game engines using a component-oriented architectural style. It highlights the importance of selecting the appropriate architectural pattern, considering the features of modern game engines such as Unity, Unreal Engine, and Godot Engine. Key challenges and issues in designing flexible and scalable architectures are addressed. the life cycle model of the user interaction session with the application is described, comprising three main stages: Bootstrap, GameLoop, and Dispose. the article emphasizes the significance of managing transient processes between life cycle states to ensure the application's proper functioning. To better organize service interactions, the mathematical framework of category theory and set theory is applied, allowing for clear definition and management of dependencies and relationships between components. the benefits of using category theory for modeling and managing data flows and dependencies in the system, particularly through functors and monads, are discussed. these methods facilitate the creation of adaptive and scalable systems that are easy to maintain and extend. the article provides practical recommendations for designing the architecture of game applications, considering the specifics of component-oriented and service-oriented architectural styles. It underscores the need for regular review and updates of the project architecture in response to changing requirements and operating conditions. A proposed methodology serves as a theoretical foundation for developing flexible architectures of multimedia applications, accounting for the specifics of component-oriented and service-oriented architectural styles and the functioning of game engines. the work includes examples of practical applications of the proposed theoretical approaches in real projects, demonstrating their effectiveness and applicability in various game development contexts. these examples featu

Model transformation has applications in many areas as, e.g., in model-driven software development or automated knowledge exchange. When applied, model transformations usually have in common that the transformation process shall preserve certain properties. In model-driven software development, e.g., abstract models are transformed into more specific ones while preserving the behavior of the specified software system. In this paper, we present a model transformation approach that implements a preservation-centric view. We introduce a formal preservation language that allows transformation algorithms to be computed automatically. Additionally, these generated transformations can be proven to respect specified preservation requirements. We demonstrate our approach using a systems specification example that stems from the digital archiving world. We specify a Web-archiving system that consists of two components each of which uses its own Website model for storage. Internal processes necessitate exchanging Websites between these two components and, thus, model transformation. We apply our preservation language and show how the algorithm generation procedure generates a transformation algorithm that guarantees an unchanged external view on the transformed Websites

this study aimed to develop a competency model for software development courses in ITE programs as perceived by the IT industry in the Philippines in the new normal. A review of previous studies revealed existing software engineering competency models being referenced by the IT industry along with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) General Education Curriculum (GEC) being referenced by the academe. However, things drastically changed during this global pandemic which may have affected these current standards. thus, this study aimed to determine the current competency needs in the IT industry in the new normal in relation to the programming courses being offered by the ITE programs in the Philippines; A mixed method three-round Delphi technique was used to solicit a unified expert opinion from the point of view of nine (9) IT industry experts in the Philippines. Twenty-three (23) technical skills and eleven (11) soft skills were extracted from online interviews using thematic analysis. Out of 23 technical skills, nineteen (19) have consensus. the findings produced a competency model for software development courses in the new normal consisting of must-have technical skills, game-changer technical skills, and must-have soft skills. the must-have technical skills include Web Development, Cyber Security, Cloud Computing, agile Project Management, Mobile Development, and DevOps. the game changer technical skills include Data Science and Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, the Internet of things, and Research and Development. And the must-have soft skills include Communication skills, Results-Oriented, and Collaboration skills.

the paper discusses some mathematical models of traffic flow. We have introduced the concept of a stationary r-connected traffic flow on k-lane road as a development of the hydrodynamic approach and cellular automata method. A client-server based software “SSSR”-system, using smart-phone programming, for evaluating a distance of safety in continuous traffic was developed. A series of experiments were carried out using the SSSR-system, the results showing good agreement with those obtained by Greenshields in 1933. Other problems of traffic monitoring and control by the programmed SSSR-system are discussed. We also introduce a few open problems.

Robotic process automation (RPA) has emerged as one of the most lucrative technologies for automating business processes, replacing manual tasks, and freeing up employees for more productive work. Experimental research on RPA tools with respect to the usability dimension is largely unexplored in existing studies. Understanding user experience and tool effectiveness is vital to utilize RPA. the objective of this article is an experimental comparison of two RPA software’s: UiPath and Power Automate. the comparison was done with a use case from logistic. It involves daily car part pickups that require invoice creation and subsequent sharing via email. the results of the study will give insights into usability and pave the way for enhanced RPA tool utilization across industries. the article can encourage more companies to adopt RPA by demonstrating tangible benefits and practical applications, thereby driving innovation and efficiency in business processes.

the classification of landslides is the one of the most challenging topics because of the complexity of the relationships of various dynamic and uncertain factors and the physical gaining data processes. Landslide incidents frequently occur in the upper northern region of thailand due to its topography. the landslide classification method is proposed to capture the significant features from an extreme case of class-imbalance dataset. the imbalanced nature of some real-world data is one of the current challenges for machine learning researchers. A study area of this research covers an area of 25 square kilometers at Chiang Rai, in thailand which contains 30,408 non-landslide data and 1,077 landslide data. the percentage of landslide data is 3.54% of the total data. this paper proposed the solution of landslide classification given by extreme class-imbalance dataset. the proposed method has two main steps i.e., firstly, mitigating class-imbalance dataset. and secondly two-stage learning. Performance of the proposed method benchmarks the baseline, the logistic regression (LR), the random forest classifier (RFC) methods given by enhanced dataset. In the case of imbalance dataset, the one-class method is assessed against the proposed method along with the LR and the RFC methods. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method has improved the landslide-risk prediction performance over the baseline, the LR, the RFC and the one-class SVM methods in terms of an average area under the curve scores by 0.48, 0.48, 0.03, and 0.06, respectively, in both enhanced dataset and imbalance dataset.

Hardware support for Global Address Spaces (GAS) has previously focused on providing efficient access across remote memories, typically using custom interconnects or high-level software layers. New technologies, such as Extoll, HyperShare, and NumaConnect now allow for cheaper ways to build GAS support into the data center, thus making high-performance coherent and non-coherent remote memory access available for standard data center applications. At the same time, data center designers are currently experimenting with a greater use of accelerators like GPUs to enhance traditionally CPU-oriented processes, such as data warehousing queries for in-core databases. However, there are very few workable approaches for these accelerator clusters that both use commodity interconnects and also support simple multi-node programming models, such as GAS. We propose a new commodity-based approach for supporting non-coherent GAS in accelerator clouds using the HyperTransport Consortium's HyperTransport over Ethernet (HToE) specification. this work details a system model for using HToE for accelerated data warehousing applications and investigates potential bottlenecks and design optimizations for an HToE network adapter, or HyperTransport Ethernet Adapter (HTEA). Using a detailed network simulator model and timing measured for queries run on high-end GPUs, we find that the addition of wider deencapsulation pipelines and the use of bulk acknowledgments in the HTEA can improve overall throughput and reduce latency for multiple senders using a common accelerator. Furthermore, we show that the bandwidth of one receiving HTEA can vary from 2.8 Gbps to 24.45 Gbps, depending on the optimizations used, and the inter-HTEA latency for one packet is 1,480 ns. A brief analysis of the path from remote memory to accelerators also demonstrates that the bandwidth of today's GPUs can easily handle a stream-based computation model using HToE.
