Internet of things (IoTs) becomes an important research area in recent years. In IoTs, the energy is a precious resource. A lot of energy is spent on wireless communication, the information exchange between nodes. For the dynamically changing nature of wireless links, the communication between nodes is complicated and unreliable. An efficient communication protocol is desired to effectively improve the IoTs' performance and extend its life. In this paper, considering the limited energy resource and the nature of ad hoc networks, we review the previous protocols and propose a new protocol that exploits Erasure Coding for energy efficiency. the proposed protocol is stateless and works in a distributed manner. the original sender encodes the message into multiple packets with Erasure Coding and broadcasts out these packets. the receivers that do not receive all the packets will rebroadcast the received packets after back-off unless overhearing enough rebroadcasts from neighbors. the back-off is proportionate to the percentage of packets received. Mathematical analysis and simulations verify the viability of our protocol, and shows its better efficiency.

Problems of planning the execution of a set of jobs arising during the design and operation of backbone networks and transport and logistics centers are considered. this problem is formalized as the problem of finding the best schedule in a multi-agent system. Various options of problems of job planning and correction of deadlines depending on available throughput and processing capabilities are considered (all jobs are non-preemptive;all jobs allow interruptions and switching from one machine to another;part of jobs allows interruptions and switching, and part does not allow;in addition to machines non-renewable resource is also used). the mathematical solution is based on the reduction of incoming and outgoing flows to transport and logistics centers with a minimum cost in the backbone network. the areas of using the obtained results in the design systems of transport and logistics centers are proposed.

In this paper, we investigate signal detection for high frequency (HF) skywave massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems with orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) modulation. We first reveal the relationship of sparse supports between the beam domain channel and the Fourier spectrum of the space domain channel for HF skywave massive MIMO-OFDM channels. We then propose a separate Slepian transform (SST) based detector, where a set of modulated Slepian sequences are designed separately for user terminals (UTs). Before the MMSE detection, the Slepian transform is performed to reduce the dimension for each UT, thus avoiding high di-mensional matrices multiplications and inversions. To further reduce the computational complexity, we propose a joint Slepian transform (JST) based detector, where a fixed set of modulated Slepian sequences are designed, and Slepian transforms of the observation vector can be efficiently implemented based on low-dimensional fast Fourier transform (FFT). Simulation results demonstrate the attractive performance and excellent complexity advantage of proposed detectors.

Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) can act as a flexible relay to help Internet of things (IoT) devices transmit real-time status information to the control center. Due to the variety and complexity of original data in some real-time applications, computation-intensive status update should be considered. To this end, this paper considers a computation-intensive status update in UAV relay-assisted IoT, where the short packet communication is adopted and the original data collected by a IoT device need to be calculated in the IoT device, relay or control center. To realize the trade-off optimization of age of information (AoI) and energy consumption, we first derive the closed-form expressions of average peak AoI, the average energy consumption of both IoT device and UAV under the condition of non-zero packet error probability (PEP). then, we formulate the minimization problem of the weighted sum of the three performance metrics above, where the UAV locations, packet length and computing strategy are optimized jointly. Finally, an alternative optimization algorithm is proposed to obtain the sub-optimal solution. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can achieve efficient status update with low energy consumption and improve the performance effectively with the appropriate maximum tolerable PEP and the adaptive computing strategy.

the volume of the network traffic is increasing exponentially. Several smart devices and mobile applications are being widely used, thus placing a heavy pressure on backhaul lines and mobile core networks. For the next-generation portable systems, mobile edge caching is a promising technology with cloud storage capabilities and service environment at the networks edge. Lower latency and faster bandwidth connections are what 5G technology promises. In addition to numerous distant top-level servers that store content, mobile edge caching is able to store popular content or content fragments on certain edge servers close to the end clients. In this paper, we provide a thorough review of mobile edge caching and caching advantages. We also examine several caching standards and how they affect the effectiveness of caching, such as caching prevalent content at edge hubs like base stations which may be a basic arrangement for improving consumers' quality of services. Choosing which content ought to be kept within the base station cache and accurately predicting which content will be popular in the future are both highly difficult tasks. In order to better explain the necessity of improving quality of experience (QoE) in the existing network architecture, we briefly discuss existing work on edge caching and compare quality of service (QoS) and QoE. We describe the caching process in detail along with the open issues and research challenges which will facilitate the research community specifically in the area of edge caching.

Millimeter wave (mmWave) technology is capable of enhancing the capacity of maritime wireless systems. However, mountains and high-rise buildings impose high-frequency signal blockage, which limits its practical implementation in these environments. In order to mitigate the blockage problems of signal propagations caused by onshore mountains and mountainous near-shore islands, we first propose an aerial reconfigurable intelligent surface (ARIS) assisted maritime wireless communications system, where an ARIS is employed to provide wireless services for maritime users (MUs) that are within the blocked offshore areas. then, a channel estimation protocol is proposed for our ARIS-assisted maritime wireless communications system, where an offline channel estimation scheme is conceived for estimating the channel between the onShore base station (S-BS) and ARIS, whilst an online channel estimation scheme is designed for obtaining estimates of the ARIS-MUs channel. Based on the channel estimates obtained, an iterative algorithm is provided for obtaining the optimized reflection elements of the ARIS for maximizing the achievable rate of the proposed system. Our simulation results validate the effectiveness of the proposed ARIS-assisted maritime wireless system.

the presence of Industry 4.0 has altered the requirements of industrial workforces. Previously, the personnel in charge of information systems and plant operations were divided and worked in different concepts and methods. Nevertheless, the convergence of Industry 4.0 has encouraged the development of maintenance workforces capable of both information processing and machine maintenance. In response, an excellence center in Industry 4.0 in as aspect of computer engineering discipline is to be established to support the paradigm change in industry. the Asean Factori 4.0 project, an ERASMUS+ project funded by the European Union, is assisting with the process. the preparation of the excellence center is divided into two parts: the hardware and software definitions, and the staff preparations. the design and delivery of hardware and software is progressed according to the schedule, and the staff are being prepared as intended in the form of seminar and training. the feedback and evaluation strongly state that the audiences and the trainees are well satisfied and educated.

In this paper, we consider a cell-free (CF) massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system in high-mobility scenario with multiple access points (APs) serving a high-speed railway (HSR). the signal transmits through multiple paths, where different Doppler frequency offsets (DFOs) are related with distinct angle of departures (AoDs) and hence resulting in fast time-varying of the channel in uplink transmission. To solve this problem, we propose a method for Doppler compensating in the angle domain based on Multi-agent Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient (MADDPG) framework. Specifically, we design a beamforming network using a large-scale uniform linear array (ULA) at both the transmitter and receiver, where different parallel beam branches separate different DFOs, which can be compensated accordingly before transmission starts. the simulation results indicate that our proposed scheme can achieve effective performance in Doppler compensation, and at the same time, it can achieve comparable performance with respect to exhaustive search with lower complexity.

this paper proposes a new class of systematic linear codes called Fourier transform pair (FTP) codes. Given any element $\beta$ of order $n$ in a finite field, a codeword in the FTP code consists of an information vector of length $n$ followed by its Fourier transform vector defined with $\beta$ as the parity-check vector. the FTP code has length $2n$ , dimension $n$ , and minimum distance at least $2\sqrt{n}$ . Distinguishingly, an FTP code defined with any element of order three is a maximum distance separable (MDS) code. To improve the performance of FTP codes, we turn to the block Markov superposition transmission (BMST) systems. Simulation results show that BMST-FTP codes have good performances in the water-fall region (within 0.5 $\mathbf{dB}$ away from the corresponding Shannon limits) and reach the corresponding genie-aided (GA) bounds in the error-floor region. Compared with BMST of other short codes, the BMST-FTP codes require shorter encoding memory to achieve comparable performance, potentially leading to low decoding complexity and low latency.

When it comes to learning, there are beneficial effects of incorporating gestures in learning mathematics especially within the early ages of life. At first, we learn Math by counting and incorporating our fingers as a guide, as well as writing numbers along on a piece of paper. these gestures are known to be examples of hands-on learning experience for children. Aside from counting, they learn basic mathematical operations as *** children mathematics is not an easy task. the child’s attentiveness plays a huge factor in the learning process. the average attention span of the child from 2 to 10 years of age is 20 to 30 minutes only. Making the learning interactive can help in maximizing the learning experience of the child within the timespan. thus, we aim to develop a compact device that is interactive with children when it comes to learning basic mathematical operations such as addition, subtraction, and *** device has software that uses computer-vision and image detection as a way of teaching children math in an interactive way. the child has two different options of answering, by using hand gestures or premade printed numbers. the child is asked five random basic mathematical questions within a time limit. It has three levels of difficulty which the child must pass in order to progress each level. Furthermore, the software also has audio feedback as a way of letting the child know the correct answer. With these features, children are engaged in an interactive learning opportunity in mathematics.
