ASA systems (firewall, IDS, IPS) are probable to become communication bottlenecks in networks with growing network bandwidths. To alleviate this issue, we suggest to use Application-aware mechanism based on Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) to bypass chosen traffic around firewalls. the services of Internet video sharing gained importance and expanded their share of the multimedia market. the Internet video should meet strict service quality (QoS) criteria to make the broadcasting of broadcast television a viable and comparable level of quality. However, since the Internet video relies on packet communication, it is subject to delays, transmission failures, loss of data and bandwidth restrictions that may have a catastrophic effect on the quality of multimedia. © 2019 IEEE.

the rapid evolution of the emerging communication landscape prompted the rise of never seen before threats, in this way encouraging the development of more effective Network-based Intrusion Detection systems (NIDS) able to recognize outlying behaviors. But despite the theoretical effectiveness of the existing state-of-the-art, the in-depth review of the bibliography suggests the need for their constant adaptation to the changes in their operational environment and preventing being evaded by mimicry methods. the latest threats attempt to hide the malicious actions in a tangle of statistical features that simulate the normal use of the protected network, so they acquire a greater chance of avoiding the defensive actuators. In order to contribute to their mitigation, this paper introduces a novel intrusion detection strategy resistant against mimicry. the proposal constructs models of the network usage and from them, analyzes the binary contents of the traffic payload looking for outlying patterns that may evidence malicious contents. In contrast to most previous solutions, our research overcomes the traditional strengthening via randomization, by taking advantage of scoring the suspicious packet similarity between legitimate and previously built adversarial models. Its effectiveness was evaluated on the public datasets DARPA'99 and UCM 2011, where its ability to recognize attacks obfuscated by imitation was proven.

Integrating Industrial Control systems (ICS) with Corporate System (IT) is one of the most important industrial orientations. With recent cybersecurity attacks, the security of integrated ICS systems has become the priority of industrial world. Access control technologies such as firewalls are very important for Integrated ICS (IICS) systems to control communication across different networks to protect valuable resources. However, conventional firewalls are not always fully compatible with Industrial Control systems. In fact, firewalls can introduce significant latency while ICS systems usually are very demanding in terms of timing requirements. Besides, most of existing firewalls do not support all industrial protocols. this paper proposes a new access control model for integrated ICS systems based on Domain and Type Enforcement (DTE). this new model allows to define and apply enforced access controls with respect of ICS timing requirements. Access controls definition is based on a high level language that can be used by ICS administrators with ease. this paper also proposes an initial generic ruleset based on the ISA95 functional model. this generic ruleset simplifies the deployment of DTE access controls and provides a good introduction to the DTE concepts for administrators.

this paper focuses on the identification of dynamical systems with tailor-made model structures, where neural networks are used to approximate uncertain components and domain knowledge is retained, if available. these model structures are fitted to measured data using different criteria including a computationally efficient approach minimizing a regularized multi-step ahead simulation error. the neural net-work parameters are estimated along with the initial conditions used to simulate the output signal in small-size subsequences. A regularization term is included in the fitting cost in order to enforce these initial conditions to be consistent with the estimated system dynamics.

Sequential Model-based Bayesian Optimization has been successfully applied to several application domains, characterized by complex search spaces, such as Automated Machine Learning and Neural Architecture Search. this paper focuses on optimal control problems, proposing a Sequential Model-based Bayesian Optimization framework to learn optimal control strategies. the strategies are synthetized by pressure-based rules, whose parameters are the design variables of the optimization problem whose black-box objective is the energy cost. A Bayesian optimization framework is presented which handles a quite general formalization of the control problem including multiple constraints, also black box. Relevant results on a real-life Water Distribution Network are reported, comparing different possible choices for the proposed framework. © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2020.

Article discusses the issue of building the Internet of things and cyber-physical systems networks, as well as data processing in these systems. Initially, a comparative analysis of the concept of the Internet of things and cyber-physical systems were conducted. then various network construction technologies are provided, including wired and wireless short-range technologies, solutions based on M2M, LPWAN, NB-IoT and 5G, as well as scientific and analytical data on cloud, fog, edge computing methods of data processing in these systems.

Although most current license plate (LP) recognition applications have been significantly advanced, they are still limited to ideal environments where training data are carefully annotated with constrained scenes. In this paper, we propose a novel license plate recognition method to handle unconstrained real world traffic scenes. To overcome these difficulties, we use adversarial super-resolution (SR), and one-stage character segmentation and recognition. Combined with a deep convolutional network based on VGG-net, our method provides simple but reasonable training procedure. Moreover, we introduce GIST-LP, a challenging LP dataset where image samples are effectively collected from unconstrained surveillance scenes. Experimental results on AOLP and GIST-LP dataset illustrate that our method, without any scene-specific adaptation, outperforms current LP recognition approaches in accuracy and provides visual enhancement in our SR results that are easier to understand than original data.

this paper includes the analysis and the results of the study of the possibility to utilize the unevenness coefficients of the use of individual graph edges for the assessment of the isomorphism of ICT networks described with Reference Graphs. these parameters are used to confirm or reject the presence of the isomorphism of the analyzed graphs. In the first part of the paper the terms chord graph, Reference Graph and isomorphism of graphs are defined. Further, the analysis of the possibility to utilize the unevenness coefficients for the evaluation of the isomorphism of RG structures is described. the term unevenness coefficient is defined and the method of their calculation is discussed. the examples of the application of the aforementioned coefficients for the assessment of the isomorphism of networks modelled with RG graphs are given.

In this paper investigates the approach to realization of recognition of Uzbek words on the basis of end-to-end models is considered. Also presented are some theoretical data on the architecture of neural networks used in the integrated model, and the results of preliminary experimental studies conducted on their basis. Deep recurrent neural networks, which combine the multiple levels of representation that have proved so effective in deep networks with the flexible use of long-range context that empowers RNNs. When trained end-to-end with suitable regularization, we find that deep BRNNs achieve a test set error of CER=49.1% on our dataset.

Today's car manufacturers are racing in deploying new innovative functionalities in modern cars like human-machine interface (HMI) technologies, cloud-based services, vehicle ad-hoc networks (V ANET) and autonomous driving. Such new technologies increase the complexity of vehicle's E/E architecture and adds new requirements on automotive software systems. this can specially be seen in cockpit domain units like Advanced Driver Assistance systems (ADAS), Infotainment Head Units (IHU) and Telematics (TEM). the software applications of such units now exhibit large variations in requirements in terms of safety, security and connectivity as they are involved in both in-Vehicle network communication and cellular vehicle communication (V2X). In addition to that, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) are heading towards consolidating multiple units into single high computing platform. Although this simplifies the networking model of the vehicle, it adds more challenges on the architecture of automotive software systems. this paper focuses on utilizing hardware-assisted virtualization techniques to allow consolidating these heterogeneous applications on the same hardware. the performance of the proposed approach is evaluated to proof meeting the requirements of such applications. © 2019 IEEE.
