Interconnection networks of modern highperformance distributed computer systems are now deep hierarchical. In such systems, communication time between processors depends on their replacement in a computer system. In large-scale NUMA/SMP computer clusters network switches form the first level of this hierarchy and the second level is represented by a shared memory of computer nodes. In this paper we present a benchmark for estimating the message passing time when MPI-processes share the interconnection network. We studied the dependence of the execution time of the All-to-all collective operation on the message size and the number of processes sharing the communication channel. Authors developed a software for predicting the completion time of the All-to-all operation depending on the nodes allocation determined by the Resources and Jobs Management System. the software uses the results of an experimental estimate of the performance degradation for the MPI-Send/MPI-Recv operations during simultaneous (concurrent) usage of the communication channel by a set of processes. In future, we will develop structurally oriented algorithms for the determined nodes allocation. © 2018 IEEE.

Pedestrians re-identification is a hot topic in the field of computer vision. Convolutional neural network(CNN) has achieved a good recognition effect in pedestrian re-identification. However, CNN is computationally intensive because of the vast pedestrian data and the depth of CNN training. As the requirement of higher accuracy, the training always takes days and even week. In this paper, we proposed a parallel stochastic gradient descent(SGD) algorithm, where five-hierarchy parallel structure sets up blocks based on pedestrian attributes. Moreover, the interval for updating parameters is analyzed to optimize parameter selections. Momentum and adaptive adjustment of the learning rate are also adopted in training. Our experiments results show that this parallelization method successfully speeds up the training process by five times and surpasses state-of-the-art in accuracy as well. © 2018 IEEE.

Virtualization and softwarization are key concepts in fifth generation (5G) system design. 5G core network adopts service-oriented architecture which provides agile and flexible platform for diverse use cases. the paper presents an approach to design Radio Access Network (RAN) control plane functions as micro services. the approach improves the interoperability as core network service can interact with RAN services in uniform way the focus is on User Equipment Context Management procedures which are defined as a RESTful service.

In 5th generation (5G) wireless networks high levels of spectral and energy efficiency, reliability and connectivity have to be maintained. Moreover, the ever-increasing requirements for high data rates and low latency, especially when ultra-reliable communications are envisaged, lead to the need for profound examination of wireless technologies and how to improve them. Additionally, from the physical layer perspective, the various types of modulation recently proposed for 5G networks will have the ability to offer well-controlled low levels of interference and reduced Out-of-Band (OOB) leakage, thus maintaining high spectral efficiency. In this paper, the pulse shaping approach implemented through prototype filters with flexible numerology in Filter Bank Multicarrier (FBMC) is studied in Vehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2I) communications characterized by high delay spreads and high velocities of the User Equipment (UE). the key benefits of FBMC technology over Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) in 5G networks are discussed and the impact of flexible numerology-based FBMC on overall network performance is investigated.

the future Machine Type communication (MTC) forces new requirements on cellular networks such as low-power, low-cost, narrow band, and extended coverage. To support these features, the 3GPP LTE-A introduced a new user equipment (UE) category, namely CAT-M1 raising new challenges for the system designers. For instance, the device should be able to setup a call at a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of -15 dB in the extended coverage mode with only one receive antenna and almost no frequency diversity. A new Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH), namely MPDCCH, is introduced to satisfy the new system requirements. the new design relies on signal repetition to enhance the detection performance under very low SNRs. While the performance of this control channel will mainly depend on the channel estimation techniques used for coherent equalization during transmission, the choice of such technique will affect both the complexity and the performance of the UE. In this paper, we propose a channel estimation for MPDCCH that depends on linear processing of the pilot symbols and first-order polynomial interpolations. In order to enhance the performance of this technique we use a de-noising step using decision-feedbacks to help the UE reduce the power consumption of the reception and detection of the MPDCCH. the proposed scheme is able to use less than 30% of the supported repetitions in enhanced coverage modes to achieve the required detection error rate at moderate and low SNRs.

Device-to-Device (D2D) communication has become a promising technology to enhance the performance of cellular networks. the major challenge for resource sharing in D2D networks lies in the co-interference between cellular users and the originated D2D connections. In addition, power allocation for D2D connections and cellular users sharing the same spectrum is also a problem for these networks. In D2D caching networks, caching contents at users' devices can significantly reduce large network headaches. this becomes a promising solution for controlling limited resources. Maximizing the cached portions delivered to users using D2D communications requires combined consideration for guaranteed D2D channels and their allocated power. In this paper, a joint optimization problem of caching content caching delivery with resource and power allocation awareness to improve the performance of D2D caching networks is presented. We aim to enhance the performance of such networks by maximizing the overall sum rate of D2D and cellular users. An optimization problem for sum rate is formulated under the constraint of power requirements and Signal-to-Interference plus Noise Ratio (SINR). the proposed optimization problem will be solved using an optimization algorithm by jointly optimize channel and power allocation. the simulation results show that the performance of the optimal scenario with effectively selecting suitable locality ratio and D2D power optimization can lead to valuable gains in the sum rate.

Community detection is a very useful method for network structural analysis. For some existing methods, a prespecified number of communities or group sizes are required, while others rely on an optimized modularity function, Q, to identify the optimal points of division. However, modularity function has problems that affect the accuracy of resulting partitions. To address this problem, a new evaluation function is here proposed for community partition, called community coefficient S, which is based on node similarity distance. Based on this evaluation function, an efficient community detection method is also proposed, called S-cut and based on S, which can automatically identify the optimal partitions and the number of communities. the proposed method was tested on different types of networks without known true partitions, synthetic networks, benchmark real-world networks with ground-truth, and realworld networks. As well, S-cut was subsequently compared with other state-of-the-art partitioning methods. According to results, community coefficient S outperforms Q modularity function, and S-cut obtains a much higher accuracy level than the established algorithms. Unlike established community partitioning methods, which are based on modularity maximization, S-cut does not suffer from resolution limitations. In fact, the smaller the determined value for S is, the higher the resulting accuracy of partitions will be. © 2018 IEEE.

We present some advances in several major components of computational electromagnetics (CEM), including (1) higher order method of moments, finite element method, ray-tracing, and hybrid techniques, (2) uncertainty quantification techniques for CEM modeling of RF and microwave devices and systems featuring a posteriori error estimation, sensitivity analysis, and intelligent model refinement based on adjoint methods, and (3) automatic surface meshing in CEM by the discrete surface Ricci flow method enabling generation of high quality meshes and adaptive iterative mesh refinement. We also show how these methodologies and techniques can be effectively applied to solving general real-world problems with impacts on wireless communication, medicine, and meteorology. the applications include (A) smart underground mining with an integrated wireless cyber-physical framework using CEM modeling and measurements of wireless propagation in underground mines, (B) design of RF coils for next-generation high and ultra-high field magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanners based on CEM and MRI experiments, and (C) accurate characterization of winter precipitation using multi-angle snowflake camera, visual hull image processing, advanced scattering methods, and polarimetric radar.

Massive multiple-input multiple-output (massive MIMO) and the millimeter wave (mmWave) communication are known to be among the key technologies for the fifth generation (5G) mobile networks. the implementation of massive MIMO with the mmWave architecture requires the utilization of hybrid precoding technique with a low dimensional digital precoder and a high dimensional analog precoder. In this paper, we investigate the hybrid precoding design problem for the case of cooperative multicell multiuser massive MIMO system. this problem is formulated with the consideration of the user and base station (BS) association problem, and we propose an iterative algorithm to solve the formulated problem. the precoding problem is solved using the Eigen precoding algorithm whereas the Lagrangian based approach is proposed for the solution of the association problem. Simulation results show that our proposed solution can achieve higher energy efficiency and convergence rate.

the vision of the fifth generation (5G) mobile systems can be conceived as a highly manageable networking environment that provides increased performance while supporting a variety of services with widely diverse requirements. In order to realize the above vision, network slicing has been proposed as a resource provisioning technique capable to meet these requirements with reduced operating costs, while opening new horizons for network efficiency. the aim of the Network Slice Selection Function (NSSF) is selecting the set of network instances serving the users, based on localized configuration, and other relevant information including radio access networks (RANs) performances in the registration domain. In this paper, NSSF based on Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) is proposed. Here, the network slices are considered as alternatives, and their performances indicators are contemplated as the criteria for decision making. the influences of various weighting techniques, including entropy, standard deviation, and variance, are analyzed through rank reversal phenomenon and computational complexity.
