this paper present an ISFET readout circuit which is operated at 0.8 V supply and senses pit on both current and voltage accurately. this readout circuit requires one gate-source voltage and two drain-source voltage to operate in the weak inversion region. the power consumption at pH 7 is 2.5 nW. the output voltage of this readout circuit tracks with pH linearly while its current output is the exponential function to pit. the simulation results are conducted on a 0.35 mu m standard CMOS process.

In the new era, the demand of bandwidth hungry applications is increasing day by day. In the similar manner, it is going to be unfeasible for the electromagnetic spectrum to adjust the latest broadband channels. Free-space optical (FSO) communication is one of the most dominant optical wireless communication (OWC) systems which not only provides the huge bandwidth, it provides licence-free spectrum as well. the FSO link connectivity problems due to the varying nature of weather can be overcome by using a parallel radio channel to the FSO. A hybrid optical/radio communication system is proposed with the assumption of Gamma-Gamma fading distribution for the FSO and Rician distribution for the radio channel. the proposed communication system is optimized by maximizing the total mutual information (MI) under all weather conditions (e.g., rain, fog and cloud). the optimization is done over the modulation and the joint power. the mapping schemes of the respective channel are optimally selected to maximize the MI while allocating the optimum power to each channel. Simulation results show that the proposed system always provides best MI under varying weather, i.e., both for the FSO and radio channel. (C) 2017 the Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V.

Massive multiple-input multiple-output (massive MIMO) and the millimeter wave (mmWave) communication are known to be among the key technologies for the fifth generation (5G) mobile networks. the implementation of massive MIMO with the mmWave architecture requires the utilization of hybrid precoding technique with a low dimensional digital precoder and a high dimensional analog precoder. In this paper, we investigate the hybrid precoding design problem for the case of cooperative multicell multiuser massive MIMO system. this problem is formulated with the consideration of the user and base station (BS) association problem, and we propose an iterative algorithm to solve the formulated problem. the precoding problem is solved using the Eigen precoding algorithm whereas the Lagrangian based approach is proposed for the solution of the association problem. Simulation results show that our proposed solution can achieve higher energy efficiency and convergence rate.

Multi-level clustering offers the scalability that is essential to large-scale ad hoc and sensor networks in addition to supporting energy-efficient strategies for gathering data. the optimality of a multi-level network largely depends on two design variables: 1) the number of levels, and 2) the number of nodes operating at each level. We characterize these variables within a multi-hop, multi-level hierarchical network of variable size that gathers and aggregates data at each level. Our network communication cost model (EEHC-VA) is parameterized by the size of the data forwarded at each level, which depends on the application and aggregation strategy in place. We minimize the communication cost to obtain the optimal probabilities of distributed and independent selection of level-(n+1) nodes from level-n nodes. Interestingly, we have identified intervals based on the number of nodes and aggregated data sizes within which single- or two-level hierarchies are optimal. the results have been numerically verified for a wide range of parameters and validated with network simulations.

Recent development of wireless communications has resulted to the augmentation of small cell to traditional macrocell networks. this constitutes an improved coverage and system capacity of the networks. However, it consequently results to interference and high blockage rate, which are the problems we are treating in this paper. this work proposes two cell selection schemes that adopt the enhanced inter-cell interference coordination technique developed by 3GPP in Rel-10 for LTE-Advanced networks. Initial results are provided as a proof-of-concept, where the two proposed algorithm's results are provided.

Most of the routing protocols for wireless networks have focused on finding a feasible route from a source to a destination. Routing Protocols in Multi-hop Wireless networks (MHWNs) face more serious security and reliability challenges. Radio jamming attacks are especially harmful to the reliability of links, as they can effectively disrupt communication between any node pairs result in that links are continuously created and broken. Selecting a long lasting and steady-going route in multi hop wireless network is a critical task. this paper studies the impact of jamming on the common protocols of wireless networks and presents an improved reliable AODV routing protocol based on Neighbor Dependency Level(NDL), which named as RPBND protocol. the NDL of a node and its neighbor is divided into three ranks, that is, fully dependent, half-dependent and independent level. then, route selection ways for different NDL are presented, and different priorities of the neighbor nodes with different NDL to be selected as the next hop node are assigned. the performance of the stable routing protocol based on Neighbor Dependency Level (NDL) is demonstrated in simulation, and compared with the traditional Min-hop-based AODV routing algorithm and the improved Cost-based AODV routing algorithm. the simulation results show that the RPBND protocol has better data transmission stability.

A Vehicular Adhoc Network (VANET) is a generic communications conceptualization that can be applied to Intelligent Transportation systems (ITS) and its main goal is to allow exchange of information between moving vehicles, fixed infrastructures, pedestrians with personal devices, and all other electronic devices able to connect to a VANET environment. Information exchange between different stakeholders brings a relevant potential to the development of applications to help users in different areas such as traffic safety and efficiency, infotainment and personal comfort. However, due to the expected heterogeneity (different processing power and storage capabilities, communications technologies and mobility patterns) and large scale on the number of devices involved, application interoperability in VANET contexts can be a challenging problem. Non-agnostic standard communications architectures for ITS systems have some deploying limitations and lack important specific implementation details. this paper presents an agnostic VANET architecture (it permits the use of several communication technologies in an open and modular framework), which is an adaption of present standards approach, to be deployed on ITS systems as a mean to overcome their main limitations. With the extensive use of smartphones, technology improving secure communication between smartphones is a growing field of research. As a form of Visible Light communication, a color video barcode system creates a smartphone-to-smartphone communication channel. this color video barcode system, effectively an evolved form of QR codes, provides a secure alternative to WiFi, Bluetooth, and Near Field communication. Recent improvements in smartphone screen resolution and camera capabilities allow for data transmission with larger amounts of information. In this paper, we investigate if these hardware changes will allow for improvements in data transmission over a screen-to-camera color barcode link. Our system, TEtra-TRansmISsion (TETRIS) achieves a communication throughput of 311.22 Kbps with 90% accuracy. We discuss how this could be improved with further work.

Inland navigation networks are large-scale systems that can be described by using the nonlinear Saint-Venant partial differential equations. However, as there is no analytical solution for them, simplified models are used instead for modeling purposes. this work addresses the modeling of two sub-reach systems by means of the well-known Integrator Delay Zero model. Two main scenarios are considered: in the first one, the two partial models are independently computed one from each other;the second one uses previous knowledge of the whole two sub-reach system in order to ensure the flow consistency along the system. the application of these two methodologies to a part of the navigation network in the north of France serves as the case study for this work.
