In this paper, we propose a mobile optical wireless (OW) system that employs a beam delay and a power adaptation multibeam clustering method in conjunction with an angle diversity receiver (BDPA-BCM). Our ultimate goal is to improve the signal to noise ratio (SNR), reduce the delay spread and increase the received optical power under multipath dispersion, background noise and mobility. A significant reduction in delay spread by nearly a factor of fifteen and an enhanced SNR by almost 10 dB over a line strip multibeam system (LSMS) can be achieved when a beam delay and power adaptation line strip multibeam system (BDPA-LSMS) coupled with an angle diversity receiver is employed. At a bit rate of 50 Mbit/s, the proposed BDPA-BCM offers about a 10 dB SNR gain over a BDPA-LSMS. A further improvement in the delay spread of the BDPA-BCM by a factor of eight compared withthe BDPA-LSMS is achieved. the improvements in the delay spread and the SNR enable the BDPA-BCM to operate at higher data rates of 2.5 Gb/s and 5 Gb/s. Our simulation results show that the modified BDPA-BCM at a bit rate of 5 Gb/s achieves about 16 dB SNR for the worst communication path under the presence of background noise and mobility while achieving a BER below 10(-9).

Current high-performance capacity systems run hundreds of applications concurrently sharing the same network resources. In this scenario, system throughput and hence system utilization is significantly affected by inter-application contention. Quality-of-service (QoS) mechanisms are traditionally used in the Internet to provide different levels of performance guarantees. However, we have not found in the literature the application of QoS techniques to reduce the impact of inter-application contention on contention-sensitive applications running in capacity high-performance computing (HPC) clusters. Only a small set of applications can benefit from the policies currently used. Applications are basically classified into two classes, namely latency-sensitive and bandwidth-sensitive applications. Instead, we propose a more efficient quality-of-service policy for HPC systems with InfiniBand network. this technique provides a wider classification of applications, and hence can leverage QoS mechanisms for a large number of applications resulting in an increase of system performance. the proposed QoS policy provides a method to effectively map applications to virtual lanes and applies effective bandwidth distribution for each of the lanes. Results obtained for slimmed fat-tree networks show that by segregating applications on virtual lanes a substantial reduction of inter-application contention by 59% can be achieved for typical scientific codes. Also, applications can be effectively grouped into one virtual lane based on a network utilization metric in case there are more applications than virtual lanes in the system. Moreover, further improvements are obtained by allocating a different bandwidth to each virtual lane. this technique will favor some applications without significantly degrading the others. We show that for HPC, contrary to Internet, QoS policies should favor applications that are less communication demanding.

And regional communication system is divided into regional protection centers, regional networks and sub-station system. then this paper analyzes the reliability of the fiber optic ring network which is used widely, and establishes the reliability model of each subsystem. As IEEEl4 bus for example, we calculate the reliability of each subsystems and overall system, then we get the sub-station is a bottleneck affecting the reliability of the entire communication system. But in wide area network, ATM switches are weakest link components. We use Bayesian network as reliability evaluation method. the reliability evaluation method of Bayesian network not only can be easily used to calculate the reliability, but also can find the thin section of system by its unique reverse reasoning technique.
