Given the growing prominence of innovation in service sciences and international competitiveness, the context of innovation has emerged in adoption research. this study explores emerging trends of ICT adoption in an innovation context. More specifically, given the increased importance of interorganizational networks in fostering innovation, the study uncovers drivers of adoption of interorganizational systemsthat support the innovation process. Particularly, to enhance understanding of innovations that are entrenched in networks of heterogeneous actors, this study employs an interdisciplinary approach as it applies network and relationships marketing literatures to the adoption and inter-organizational systems literatures. Based on qualitative research incorporating a focus group and sixteen in-depth interviews, the study provides a network framework for understanding key drivers of ICT adoption, including trust, commitment, coordination and communication efficiency, in innovation contexts.

this paper introduces the Robo Cast communication abstraction. the RoboCast allows a swarm of non oblivious, anonymous robots that are only endowed with visibility sensors and do not share a common coordinate system, to asynchronously exchange information. We propose a generic framework that covers a large class of asynchronous communication algorithms and show how our framework can be used to implement fundamental building blocks in robot networks such as gathering or stigmergy. In more details, we propose a RoboCast algorithm that allows robots to broadcast their local coordinate systems to each others. Our algorithm is further refined with a local collision avoidance scheme. then, using the RoboCast primitive, we propose algorithms for deterministic asynchronous gathering and binary information exchange.
Nowadays technologies, frameworks and architectures are forced to be service driven, platform independent, reliable and scalable. Application markets, Service Oriented Architectures and Cloud Computing are currently i...

the time we live in is sometimes called the Computer Age because of the dramatic changes to commerce and all areas of social, cultural and professional life that have been brought about by Internet and computer networks. Human relationships have also undergone substantial changes. Unlimited access to these services is possible just by connecting a computer to the Internet. through technologies promoted by it, the information society is a world of computers, the virtual world of the 3 W (World Wide Web), the Internet and the electronic mail (e-mail). All these are part of our daily approach to others, our jobs, and society as a whole.
the most successful MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) model in practice today is the service provider model in which the MVNO appears to be a mobile network operator in its own right and sells comparable voice an...

It is well known that, for most non-trivial problems (such as Election, Spanning-Tree Construction, Traversal, Broadcast, etc.), any generic solution requires at least Omega(m) messages in the worst case, where m is the number of links among the n entities. However, all the existing proofs of this fact assume that the network size (i.e., the parameters n and m) are not known to the protocol. A natural question arises whether this rather strong assumption, which is crucial for the proofs, is truly necessary for establishing a lower bound to these problems. In this paper we answer this question and prove that the Omega(m) bound is inherent for all these problems, as well as many more. In fact, we consider the class of global problems, that is those whose solution requires the involvement of every entity in the communication (sending or receiving messages). the relationship between n and m plays an important role in establishing the lower bound. We show that for most networks (where m <= 1/2(n-2)(n-3) + 1) a generic solution for any problem in this class requires at least m messages even if n, m, and the degree of each node are known. this result holds for almost all values of m (e.g., when 1/2(n-2)(n-3) + 1 < m <= 1/2(n-1)(n-2) + 1 the number of required messages is m-1), even if there is a single initiator and the entities have distinct identifiers, and boththese facts are known. Moreover, the results hold even if the protocol can maintain a global view of the network. As the networks become more dense, namely the network approaches a complete graph, the number of required messages is gradually reduced. For extreme values of m ( i.e., m = 1/2n(n-1)-c > 1/2(n-1)(n-2) + 1), where c >= 0 is constant, the lower bound gradually approaches Omega(n);this is understandable since we establish it for the single initiator scenario. However, we prove that in networks of such a size, single initiators problems such as Broadcast and Traversal can be solved with precisely that ord

We describe a framework to exploit social network connections for targeted campaigns delivery in order to support local retailers in enhancing customer communication. In order to demonstrate its feasibility we implemented a client application enabling end users to find relevant coupons and offers and retrieve them after completing specific tasks. By integrating this application into a server infrastructure for retailers to manage their offers and allowing offers to be shared among end users via social networks, we are able to considerably augment the success of marketing campaigns. As a result, brand awareness and loyalty as well as customer satisfaction may be greatly enhanced.
