IoT techniques have transformative potential across domains, particularly in precision agriculture, where they enable farmers to optimize crop production while minimizing environmental impact. this paper presents an IoT-based real-time monitoring and control system for hydroponic tomato cultivation. the system integrates various hardware components, including sensors for monitoring temperature, humidity, pH levels, and gas concentrations. Arduino microcontrollers collect and process sensor data, enabling automated control of water, nutrient supply, and ventilation. Wi-Fi and GSM modules facilitate remote monitoring and data transmission, empowering farmers to monitor and control their tomato crops remotely. the system has been successfully tested for tomato cultivation, demonstrating promising results. Although tailored for tomatoes, its design principles can be adapted for other crops. Moreover, it shows significant water and nutrient efficiency, highlighting its economic feasibility. © 2024 the Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V.

Millimeter wave (mmWave) communication techniques have been regarded as promising solutions for wireless communication networks. However, short wavelength of mmWave signals poses fundamental challenges in estimating wireless channels. this paper tackles the channel estimation problems for frequency selective mmWave imposed on a multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) systems. In particular, we leverage the low-rank and sparse properties of mmWave channel matrices. the alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM) with a relaxation parameter in a symmetrical order is employed. the numerical results exhibit the superiority of proposed methodology in terms of mean-squared-error and spectral efficiency. © 2023 IEEE.

Wireless ad-hoc networks are local area networks that are built without a centralized administration point. they are widely utilised in many applications, particularly those involving the Internet of things (IoT), such as environmental monitoring, smart homes, smart agriculture, and many other IoT applications. However, when the network's size grows, network throughput rapidly declines, mainly because of more collisions. According to the IEEE 802.11 standard, the carrier sense multiple access with collision avoidance protocol is the basic medium access control technique used by the 802.11 standard, also known as the distributed coordination function. It uses the Binary Exponential Backoff (BEB) algorithm for collision avoidance. Avoiding collisions will optimize the network with regard to throughput. this paper proposes an improved dynamic backoff algorithm called Dynamic Enhanced Collision Resolution Algorithm (D-ECRA), which improves the recently introduced Enhanced Collision Resolution Algorithm (ECRA) by replacing the contention window exponential increment with a less aggressive and dynamic contention window increment based on the network's size. the Register Transfer Level (RTL) design of D-ECRA is proposed using Verilog HDL. Results demonstrate that D-ECRA surpasses BEB and ECRA with regard to throughput with a maximum improvement percentage of 4% and 1.2% respectively. Also, results showed that D-ECRA performed better than ECRA with regard to delay with a maximum improvement percentage of 43%. this thesis shows the assessment process for D-ECRA including simulation parameters and test scenarios for both system and RTL modelling. © 2023 IEEE.

Due to the advantages such as excellent mobility, low-cost, on-demand deployment, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are expected to play a significant role in the future wireless communication systems. One of the necessary and urgent problems is the physical layer security of this wireless communication system. Specifically, under the open nature of the UAV wireless channels, how to convey confidential information reliably in a coexistence environment with eavesdroppers. In this paper, we investigate a Q-learning based security scheme to maximize the average secrecy rate (ASR) against intentional or unintentional eavesdropping. Simulation results show comparable disguising performances compared with the benchmark method.

the quantum age heralds transformative advancements in secure communication. To protect against the looming threat of quantum computers to digital security, two complementary avenues are being explored: Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) and Post Quantum Cryptography (PQC). QKD offers security by leveraging quantum mechanics to securely exchange cryptographic keys, while PQC shows potential robustness against quantum attacks by developing classical public key cryptographic algorithms. Entangled photon networks promise ultra-secure communication channels, and are hoped to eventually enable quantum networks that distribute quantum information between quantum processors, using quantum teleportation. Progress has been made in the last five years, and the risk of large scale cryptographically relevant quantum computers (CRQCs) within the next decade is significant. In response to this, we expect a phase of rapid adoption of technologies to protect the confidentiality and security of critical systems and communications, such as all-symmetric key based cryptography, QKD and PQC. In the medium term, these technologies will mature and be widely adopted. Long-term, entangled photon networks may revolutionize global communication, achieving unparalleled quantum computation, security and efficiency, and novel use-cases in quantum cryptography beyond QKD. Operators must navigate these evolving technologies to future-proof communication systems.

Social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook have become dominant sources of political activity with many politicians choosing to leverage these platforms. this rise in popularity has led many researchers to investigate the impact of these platforms on digital communication, specifically with regard to digital polarization. Most of the current polarization literature is centered on two-party systems with little attention given to multi-party parliamentary networks. As such, we leverage data from members of the German Bundestag (MdBs) to better understand digital polarization in MdB Twitter interactions. this paper expands the current literature to include a multi-level network evaluation of a parliamentary body by evaluating partisan polarization on the scale of retweets, mentions, and following-follower relationships. We employ social network analysis and text-based sentiment analysis to understand both the structure and sentiment polarity of the networks and find that polarization varies based on the level of the network that is being examined. Results indicate that the highest polarization occurs in the retweets network and the lowest occurs in the mentions network, while the sentiment analysis suggests same-party mentions are significantly more positive than cross-party mentions.

In this paper, we investigate the delay and Doppler shift estimation for the target by considering the resource mapping of the pilot in sixth generation (6G) integrated communication and sensing networks (ISAC). We first model the physical resource mapping of the sensing signals based on 3GPP release. then a rotational invariance based method is proposed to estimate the delay and the distance of the target. By interchanging the symbol and the subcarrier with each other, the same method is applied to estimate the Doppler shift and the velocity. Finally, a link level simulation is presented to show the performance of the proposed method.

Accurate traffic flow forecasting plays a vital role in the effective management and control of intelligent transportation systems. However, existing forecasting methods face constraints due to insufficient information sharing and a limited understanding of global temporal relationships, impeding a thorough analysis of temporal and spatial features. To address this issue, we propose a novel approach called ST-DGCPSA (Spatio-Temporal Dynamic Graph Probabilistic Sparse Attention networks) for traffic flow forecasting. this framework serves as a general forecasting solution, effectively extracting the temporal and spatial characteristics of traffic flow. Firstly, a temporal graph convolution block is constructed, treating historical time slots as graph nodes and employing graph convolution to capture flexible global temporal dependencies. Next, a dynamic graph constructor is designed to explore spatial correlations between nodes and dynamic temporal dependencies across different time points, fully extracting dynamic spatio-temporal relationships. Lastly, the spatio-temporal convolution block enhances the model's ability to capture spatial correlations, temporal dependencies, and multi-scale modeling through the probabilistic sparse attention mechanism, leading to improved forecasting accuracy. Experimental results on four real datasets demonstrate the superiority of ST-DGCPSA over existing techniques. © 2024 IEEE.

In this paper, we investigate the issue of joint design of communication and computation for multiple time-sensitive computation-intensive user equipments (UEs) with different types of tasks in 6G wireless networks. In particular, we consider a practical mobile edge computing (MEC) network with both communication and computation uncertainties, where channel state information (CSI) is partially obtained by the base station (BS) and the task complexity is inaccurately estimated by the MEC server. To solve these problems and enhance the overall performance, we propose a delay-optimal robust edge computing algorithm for 6G wireless networks with the goal of minimizing the maximum system delay among all UEs by jointly optimizing transmit power at the UEs, receive beamforming at the BS and computing resources at the MEC server. Finally, simulation results confirm the robustness and the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm over baseline ones.

this article is devoted to the theoretical aspects of the study of the digital transformation of public governance. the article solves the problem of synthesizing a fairly large number of areas of digital transformation, such as data processing, deliberation, platform communication, project management, etc. the digital transformation model is presented in the form of a recursive sensory system, which is a heuristic for understanding the digitalization of organizations or socio-technical systems. Sensors are the basis for obtaining data in such a system, while each of its components is somehow connected with recursive processes understood in a broad sense - mutual influence, management iterations, isomorphism, etc. Realizing philosophical and cybernetic research methods, the author analyzes in detail the structural components of the Recursive Sensory System and shows their relationship with each other and society in order to describe which heuristic of the Rational Value System is used and to study the features and prospects of the digital transformation of public governance.
