In the rapidly evolving sphere of infrastructure management, early detection of road damage stands paramount for ensuring both safety and longevity. this research introduces an innovative technique for real-time road damage detection by leveraging the Mask R-CNN (Region-based Convolutional Neural networks) approach. the primary objective was to discern varied forms of damages - from cracks to potholes, ensuring timely interventions and repairs. Utilizing a robust dataset comprising images of multiple road surfaces under different environmental conditions, the Mask R-CNN model was trained exhaustively. Results reveal a commendable accuracy rate, with the model distinguishing between minor aberrations and significant damages adeptly. A distinctive feature was the model's capability to operate in real-time, aiding in instant damage reporting. Furthermore, a comparative analysis with existing methods demonstrated a marked improvement in terms of both detection speed and precision. the findings suggest promising implications for urban planning and road maintenance. the integration of such an approach can revolutionize the manner in which road monitoring is traditionally undertaken, potentially resulting in substantial economic savings and enhanced safety measures. © 2024 the Authors.

Interworking with 4G/5G mobile communication networks is essential for drones to perform missions in broadband environments, and high-quality video data from cameras such as EO/IR/Lidar, which are equipped on drones for mission status monitoring, must be transmitted to the control center using streaming protocols. In this paper, we aim to describe the optimization method for transmitting high-quality video data using the SRT transmission protocol in mobile communication network. © 2023 IEEE.

IoT integrated with WSN has become a pivotal force in healthcare, embodying a multitude of transformative applications. A protocol for analyzing data in the context of healthcare utilization is one definition of it, wherein a WSN must offer more dependable routing. As a result, there is a requirement to improve a technique in the healthcare industry that optimizes communication rates and increases dependability. this article presents a new approach for the purpose of routing data packets (DPs) to enhance the dependability of IoT-based WSNs for the Healthcare System (HCS). the study methodology takes into account the behaviour of HCSs as well as the significance of energy consumption (EC), packet delivery rate (PDR), and end-to-end delay (E2D). To accomplish the routing procedure, the research methodology incorporates several situations, such as residual energy (RE) and distance (d) from neighbours. the outcomes of designing the proposed Energy-Efficient Stable Election Protocol for IoT-based WSN in Healthcare systems (EESBOP) protocol demonstrate its favourable performance compared to the I-SEP (Improved Stable Election Protocol) protocol. Additionally, the protocol is effective in achieving its goals of preserving the high quality of DPs that are delivered to the destination and maximizing the efficiency of EC within the HCS. the results of the experiments show that the study protocol beats both the EESBOP and I-SEP protocols. As a result, the throughput of the network is improved by 4%, and the rate at which packets are delivered is increased by 98.9%. © 2023 IEEE.

Conversational agents (CA) are software programs that can converse with users using natural language. they are now widely used in various domains, such as tourism, healthcare, and others, to perform tasks and provide permanent assistance to users by interacting with them in natural language. the development of such applications is a task that requires expertise in several fields, such as software engineering, machine learning, deep learning, and natural language processing (NLP). However, several platforms and frameworks on the market facilitate the building of CA, such as Dialogflow, Rasa, and others. Recently, several research studies have proposed solutions to reduce the workload of developers and designers by offering their model-driven development approaches using domain-specific languages (DSLs), which facilitate the automation of the development of CA. this work aims to provide an Overview of CA to identify and describe their architecture and the details of its key components. and discuss the tools and technologies for their development. At the same time, discover the research topics that focus on using DSLs for model-driven development to automate and speed up the creation of these agents and discover approaches and technologies employed to implement each of these DSLs. © 2024 Elsevier B.V.. Distributed Denial of Service (DDOS) in IOT based systems has become a vital consideration especially since the quintessential development of IOT based gadgets including small Personal Digital Assistants (PDA) to large computing systems. the stupendous and prolonged presence of such innovations have attracted potential attackers, encouraging them to carry out cyber-attacks and data theft. the key objective of this research is to detect and mitigate botnet-based distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks in IoT networks. Our proposed model addresses the issue concerning threats from bots. Multiple machine learning models such as K-Nearest Neighbour (KNN), K-Means clustering, Fuzzy clustering and Deep learning models such as Conventional Neural Network (CNN), Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) Long Short Term Memory (LSTM) were used to arrive at the model, wherein the model is trained by Bot-Iot dataset. Various preprocessing methods were equipped and Performance-based selection was done to choose algorithms from a collection using the reference point, (i.e) accuracy percentage. Feature selection and Synthetic minority oversampling technique (SMOTE) were also incorporated alongside Machine Learning (ML) algorithms. the results of the model indicates that the proposed architecture can effectively detect botnet-based attacks and also can be extended with corresponding architectures for unfolding attacks. © 2023 IEEE.

Single page applications (SPAs) are web applications that offer a fast and responsive user experience, but also pose some challenges in terms of navigation process management and platform compatibility. In this paper, we propose a DSL-based approach for code generation and management of SPA navigation process, based on the visual vocabulary proposed by Garrett. We use a Domain-Specific Language (DSL) to describe the elements of the SPA, such as pages, connectors, and transitions, in a concise and abstract way. We also propose a metamodel for Garrett vocabulary, which defines the concepts and relationships of the DSL. then, we apply a Model-Driven Engineering (MDE) technique to transform the DSL specification into a platform-specific project architecture and basic code for an SPA. We present a case study of using our DSL to generate an Angular SPA and evaluate the benefits of our approach in terms of productivity, maintainability, and reusability. © 2024 Elsevier B.V.. In this paper, we optimize the demodulation reference signal (DMRS) pattern of the physical sidelink shared channel (PSSCH) based on a deep learning approach to maximize the channel estimation performance for 5G vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication systems. For the DMRS optimization, we design a convolutional neural network (CNN) which classifies the optimal DMRS pattern index for the given received signals. It is shown that the proposed CNN structure achieves 91% accuracy for the optimal DMRS pattern index. the simulation results verify that the proposed scheme achieves 4 dB performance gain in terms of mean square error (MSE) compared to the legacy DMRS pattern. © 2023 IEEE.

systems, including humans and artificial agents, are involved in a set of coordinated tasks. the technology becomes intertwined with an individual's identity in daily life. the concept explored here encapsulates the extended-self idea within social identity theory. In this comprehensive review, the idea of shared identity of individuals interacting with AI systems is explored, along with methods, applications, and implications. Assuming that the transition to AI-enhanced society happens ubiquitously, in different categories (e.g., data analysis, text comprehension), realizing shared identity with AI systems is an important step in societal development. Because identity consists of personal and social experience, the social experience is reflected in global environment, and it in turn extends to the artificial environment. AI systems act as part of an individual's extended identity, allowing them to navigate digital spaces, share personal information, and interact with various services. the main advantage of shared identity with AI systems is in coordination improvement and task efficiency: people are better at managing tasks when a common identity is highlighted;the same might be assumed for the interaction of a human and AI systems. the application of such ideas is discussed within personal, social and global identities including a social norm, personification, bias identification, recommender system, social network, ethical considerations, cybersecurity, medical use, and developing a sense of global identity and propose ideas for refining AI Global policy. the implication of AI for employment and ethics is explored. © 2024 Elsevier B.V.. Our use and dependency to information and communication technology (ICT) creates undoubtedly new opportunities but also new risks. To ensure that ICT helps to promote healthcare and medicine worldwide, we necessarily need to address issues related to the implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in healthcare. Human rights such as data privacy;ethics in the use of data;the digital gap or bias in AI are new challenges to tackle. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), AI promises to facilitate access to healthcare and medicine worldwide. Our postulation is that the current legal framework cannot regulate adequately the use of AI in healthcare. international cooperation is a prerequisite to ensure that all new risks and challenges associated with the use of AI in healthcare are tackled. A revision of the WHO international Health Regulations (IHR) is necessary as well as new coercive powers for the WHO to enable effective global public health policies. © 2022 IEEE.

Drones are now widely used and have grown in popularity in recent years. However, as a result of their greater use, there have been more crimes involving drones. In this explanatory case study, digital forensics methods are used to analyze a DJI Spark drone discovered at a crime scene. the purpose of this inquiry is to obtain vital data that might help with the investigation of drone-related crimes. the drone's memory card and remote controller, which have flight records, pictures, and videos on them, have important details about the crime and how the drone was used. We gather and examine this material using digital forensics techniques. Investigative personnel will then be able to recognize potential suspects and comprehend the drone's participation in the crime. Important details, such as the drone's flight path, the location of the murder scene, and the identities of the people involved, are revealed by the recovered data. this explanatory case study emphasizes the importance of digital forensics in the analysis of drone-related crimes. Drones will probably be employed more frequently in criminal acts as they become more prevalent in society. Investigators may keep ahead of the curve and efficiently use drones as a source of priceless evidence in criminal investigations by using competent digital forensics techniques. © 2023 IEEE.
