the advent of 5G networks brings significant advancements for Machine-to-machine communication as it offers high data rates, network slicing capabilities, and improved network performance. A global wave of M2M connections has brought many opportunities for industries. However, with an exponentially new number of devices connected to the internet, the security of systems has become more vulnerable. Existing schemes utilize key generation functions like Elliptic Curve Cryptography, Shamir Secret Sharing, and Message Authentication Codes. these traditional schemes are based on discrete logarithm problems and factors of large numbers, that now can be predicted with more advanced quantum computers. the keys are also stored in physical memory, making it prone to hardware security attacks. To make the current framework future-proof new optimized authentication mechanisams need to be devised. this paper presents a novel approach based on Physically Unclonable Functions that can potentially defy even quantum-based attacks. PUFs provide an alternative method of security by relying on physical characteristics as opposed to computational presumptions. PUF responses are distinct and unpredictable as it follows an event-driven approach. Moreover, the results obtained by implementing the proposed scheme show that the network performance is optimal with a significant decrease of 16% in the energy requirements as compared to other techniques. this cost-effective, robust, and reliable approach has myriad applications for the industry by generating state-of-the-art solutions and fostering trust between all stakeholders. © 2023 IEEE.

In-band full-duplex (IBFD) is a highly promising technology in broadband power line communication (BB-PLC) despite the harsh nature of BB-PLC channels. Recent research showed the possibility of improving the bidirectional throughput of point-to-point communication with IBFD implementation by 79-88%. However, peer-to-peer communication with relatively symmetric data rates in both directions has limited applications. Apparently, IBFD can be useful in multiple-node networks where resource sharing, like spectrum and time, is essential. this paper aims to leverage the IBFD advancements to enhance the spectral efficiency in heterogeneous BB-PLC networks, fostering new IBFD PLC applications in Smart Grids. We analyze IBFD potential and limitations for a network with an arbitrary number of nodes covering architecture, signal processing, and resource allocation perspectives. the main challenge is the mitigation of self and mutual interference, for which we propose a solution. Finally, through simulations, we determined the most advantageous part of the spectrum to be used by IBFD-capable nodes. © 2023 IEEE.

In the domain of precision agriculture, the convergence of Artificial Intelligence and precision techniques has revolutionized farming practices. this, has marked an era of enhanced efficiency, productivity, and sustainability through exploiting scientific fields such as Machine Learning, Big Data, Computer Vision, Internet of things and Robotics being applied in agriculture more and more. Given the frequent need for ongoing decision-making inside dynamically changing environments, precision agriculture emerges as a prime domain for the application of Reinforcement Learning techniques, with multiple future promising outcomes. We analyze the literature and identify three main application categories that have been focused on, namely crop management, water management and robot control. Moreover, we highlight the importance and advantages of exploiting Reinforcement Learning in agriculture and highlight the gaps that exist in the literature. Lastly, we propose a general framework towards the future applications of Reinforcement Learning in the field of agriculture. © the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

the paper details the design and implementation of a 4-bit unsigned binary serial divider using 90 nm CMOS technology. It utilizes Transmission Gate (TG) logic for the division process and offers a comparison with an alternative CMOS logic approach featuring a Kogge Stone adder. the TG Logic implementation boasts a lower transistor count (402) but exhibits higher propagation delay (379.6 femtoseconds) and power consumption (18.42 micro-Watts). In contrast, the CMOS Logic with Kogge Stone adder employs more transistors (792) but results in a shorter propagation delay (494.9 femtoseconds) and lower power consumption (5.987 micro-Watts). the choice between these two methods should be based on the specific application’s needs and priorities. © ICST Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering 2025.

Private and public organizations have long relied on intrusion detection systems to alert them of malicious activity in their digital networks. these systems were designed to detect threat signatures in static networks or infer anomalous activity based on their security 'logs'. they are, however, of limited use to detect threats across heterogeneous, modern-day networks, where computing resources are distributed across cloud or routing services. Recent advancements in machine learning have led to the development of autonomous threat detection (ATD) applications that monitor, evaluate, and respond to malicious activity with minimal human intervention. the use of 'intelligent' and programmable algorithms for ATD will reduce incident response times and enhance the capacity of states to detect threats originating from any layer of their territorial information and communications technologies (ICT) infrastructure. this paper argues that ATD technologies will influence the evolution of a due diligence Mc for cyberspace by raising the standard of care owed by states to prevent their networks from being used for malicious, transboundary ICT activities. this paper comprises five sections. Section 1 introduces the paper and its central argument. Section 2 outlines broad trends and operational factors pushing public and private entities towards the adoption of ATD. Section 3 offers an overview of a typical ATD application. Section 4 analyses the impact of ATD on the due diligence obligations of states. Section 5 presents the paper's conclusions.

Web service credibility measurement techniques provide a professional and experiential assessment of web services to the user community. Unfortunately, existing web service credibility measures are limited to implementation by only web service stakeholders. thus, they are usually limited to registered users or customers and not open to public voting and acquaintance. Existing techniques only allow internal user evaluation at the web service levels by using pre-specified inputs limited to specialized questionnaires or checklists to evaluate their services. In this paper, we propose a design model for automating crowd input incorporation in credibility measures of web services regardless of whether these services allow feedback from the user or not. Our design facilitates web service evaluation to every internet user openly at the web browser level, not only at the web service level. this model also allows the dissemination of credibility measures to the public through available and easy-access channels. this work will enable web authors, stakeholders, and innovators to claim or vote on authorship or ownership of information and impact their claims on the digital world. It also allows encapsulating and exchanging user experience and claims into credibility measures of web objects and facilitates them to internet users. © 2022 IEEE.

In future Sixth-Generation (6G) mobile communication, satellite communication is a crucial means of extending mobile networks worldwide. However, in satellite communication systems, the transmission capacity between ground stations and users has become a bottleneck for satellite communication systems. For this issue, Integrated Sensing and communication (ISAC) technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI), which has been widely studied, has the potential to offer excellent solutions. this paper explores a Uformer-based sensing-assisted communication system that enhances channel estimation accuracy through the design of a Uformer-based channel estimation enhancement algorithm. By formulating a global optimization problem, we seek to improve resource efficiency through finding the optimal resource allocation schemes. Initially, the system utilizes radar data to obtain reconstructed channels and employs communication data for channel estimation. the proposed neural network model then fuses these data into a new and more accurate channel state information. Finally, we present a resource allocation algorithm and validate the performance of all proposed algorithms through simulations. © ICST Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering 2025.

In a joint communication and radar (JCR) system that performs radar sensing and communication simultaneously using a single signal, unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) can efficiently utilize limited frequency resources and provide high-quality services when they can be detected and controlled. In this paper, we discuss the JCR system in a dynamic environment that considers user mobility and air-to-ground channels, and propose a dynamic UAV control solution to maximize system performance. the position of the UAV is a major factor that affects system performance, then, the proposed dynamic reinforcement learning scheme adjusts the trajectory of UAV and subframe length to derive the optimal solution. the simulation results show that the proposed scheme can adapt to the dynamic environment and converge to optimal values, demonstrating the ability to find optimal solutions for UAV trajectory and subframe length control. © 2023 IEEE.

Building Automation Recommender systems (BARSs) can keep constructing proprietors’ cash by means of lowering power intake whilst concurrently retaining occupant comfort. there are algorithms that optimize this exchange off, including detecting which home equipment have become the one without requiring costly popularity detectors to be connected to every appliance. However, efficient methods have to be identified which are best suited for specific constructing. Recommender structures were used extraordinarily, academically and commercially. the guidelines are generated by using methods which are capable of providing applicable thrilling gadgets to customers. Several techniques were proposed for offering customers with guidelines for the use of their score records. Most of those techniques are afflicted by new person problem (cold-begin) which is the preliminary loss of gadgets reviews. In this paper, demographic statistics are used to offer guidelines rather than the use of score records to keep away from cold-begin problem. Spider Monkey based K-Means Dynamic Collaborative Filtering is proposed for movie recommendations and the results are satisfactory. © 2023, the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

the orthogonal time frequency space (OTFS) modulation as a promising signal representation attracts growing attention for integrated sensing and communication. To illuminate the capability of OTFS for sensing, this paper studies its performance bound in contrast to Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM). We formulate the signal models of OTFS and OFDM in a unified format and extend them to Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) system. then the Cramer-Rao lower bounds (CRLB) of unknown parameters estimation are derived for them in both Single-Input Single-Output (SISO) and MIMO systems. Simulations in these cases validate the outperformance of OTFS modulation scheme for localization.
