In the age of cloud computing and Software as a Service (SaaS), the need for web-based translation management solutions is on the rise. Connecting authoring tools and other Content Management systems (CMSs) to Translation Management systems (TMSs) is key to reaching a global audience quickly, effortlessly and efficiently. To this end, new web-based TMSs have been developed to automate the entire information lifecycle and allow cooperation among all stakeholders – from authoring to translation, review and publishing. In this paper we describe the features of a web-based TMSs, identify the contexts in which such a system is required and why, and look at their benefits. To do so, we will describe three different processes which use three different technologies based on varying automation and collaboration needs, from a server-based installation of Transit NXT to a web-based solution such as CLM WebEdit. Robust beamforming is used to ensure communication quality, particularly for vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communications. Moreover, millimeter waves (mmWaves) are used in a new era of communication, providing a high data rate and high spectrum efficiency. However, mmWave links are prone to short-range communication because of serious free-space path loss and blockage by obstacles. In addition, owing to constraints on bandwidth and privacy considerations, it is computationally difficult to transmit the entire dataset between vehicle users and road side units (RSUs). As a result, FL-BT, a federated learning (FL)-based joint radar and communication mmWave beamtracking with imperfect channel state information (CSI) for V2X communications, is proposed. FL-BT is a federated module at vehicle user (local clients) and an RSU (main server) consisting of support vector regression (SVR) along with an unscented Kalman filter (UKF) that predicts the distribution of future channel behavior based on a sequence of input signals available. the simulation results demonstrate that the proposed FL-BT approach offers significant improvements in V2X communication performance by incorporating the UKF and SVR in a state-space model for precise future channel-value prediction and a federated learning framework for handling bandwidth and privacy considerations. this leads to a more robust and accurate beamtracking performance compared to traditional beamtracking methods. © 2023 IEEE.

To achieve a low Peak Average Power Ratio (PAPR) using a Novel Enhanced Active Constellation Scheme in comparison with the selective level mapping method for the Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) system. For comparative analysis, two groups namely Novel Enhanced Active Constellation Scheme and traditional Selective Level Mapping are considered. the total sample size is 20. the pretest power for the samples is 80%. Software called Matlab is used to run the *** the data is compared with the traditional Selective Level Mapping Method. the PAPR value is reduced using the Novel Enhanced Active Constellation Scheme to 7.8 dB when compared to the traditional selective level mapping of about 11.3 dB. the significance value is 0.01 (p (sic) 0.05). the Novel Enhanced Active Constellation Scheme is significantly better than the traditional Selective level mapping in reducing the high Peak Average Power Ratio.

In recent years, object detection has emerged as a crucial task in various real-world applications, including security surveillance, autonomous vehicles, and robotics. However, traditional object detection models face numerous challenges, such as inefficient image processing, inadequate resource utilization, and a failure to consider the different criticality of input images, making it difficult to apply these models for timely inferences in practical applications. To overcome these challenges, this paper proposes a novel object detection framework, called Paste-and-Cut, that utilizes two techniques, image merging (paste) and RoI patching (cut), to optimize resource utilization and improve object detection performance. Additionally, our approach incorporates a dynamic merge size and canvas size decision mechanism to adapt to varying object detection environments. Experimental results obtained from experiments conducted with the MOT dataset demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach in achieving real-time object detection with improved detection accuracy and without generating any deadline miss. As such, Paste-and-Cut provides a promising solution for efficient and accurate real-time object detection in multi-camera scenarios. © 2023 IEEE.

the need for a low-power reliable form of communication is ever-present in a multitude of fields. Our paper aims to develop and explore a security-oriented application of LoRa-based hop-to-hop communication, which provides low-power, large-scale, and long-range solutions to our current safety needs. It utilizes all the components of an IoT-based implementation, in to develop a network, which consists of different types of nodes. It takes input from the external environment through sensors, transports it via several intermediate nodes, using an effective routing algorithm, and provides output through the means of an actuator. the system achieved henceforth is highly scalable, reliable, portable, cheap, and easy to maintain, and provides a fresh outlook on the contemporary need of modernizing the security infrastructure using a growing non-cellular form of communication, LoRa technology. © 2022 ACM.

the landscape of the communication system is undergoing a rapid evolution, emphasizing the need for intelligence, efficiency, and adaptability to enable cloud computing, Internet-of-Everything, and cyber-physical systems. With the rapidly growing complexities and interconnectivities of the systems, assurance of security and privacy is of paramount importance. the inherent nature of blockchain technology is its immutability, decentralization, anonymity, and transparency. In 2021, a Health Literacy (HL) evaluation among university students revealed notable limitations in HL. To assess the general HL of populations comprehensively, the European HL Survey Questionnaire (HLS-EU-Q) was developed, encompassing 12 subdomains to provide a broad perspective on public health. In 2014, the questionnaire was adapted for use in Portugal, resulting in the HLS-EU-PT version, validated through a 16-question survey (HLS-EU-PT-Q16). Global HL and three domains' indexes and levels were determined, namely Healthcare (HC), Disease prevention (DP), and Health Promotion (HP). the HLSEU-Q16-PT assessment demonstrated satisfactory internal consistency, with 0.8834 Cronbach's alpha coefficient. In this study, an online survey distributed between 2020-2021 among Polytechnic of Leiria academia allowed data collection from various stakeholders, including 251 students, 109 professors, 15 researchers, and 55 other staff. From the 430 responses, 75 questions were analysed. the saved data was the focus of this work, regarding a thesis of the first edition of the master's in data science to analyse the 251 surveyed students and their HL. the results revealed that these students have lower HL index, and, in this case study, health area degree or school impacts HL. © 2025 the Author(s).

Hybrid beamforming is a key technology in the next generation wireless communication. It achieves similar performance as full digital beamforming with much reduced power consumption and hardware complexity. Compared with fully-connected hybrid beamforming architecture, the partially-connected architecture is of particular interest as it further simplifies the hardware design. In this work we study the partially-connected beamforming with finite resolution phase shifters in downlink massive MIMO systems. Fairness or the quality of service (QoS) of each user is considered. In this problem, partially-connected architecture and finite resolution phase shifters put additional constraints to the system. We propose an efficient penalty-based algorithm to jointly optimize the digital and analog beamforming, which yields analog beamforming in discrete values. Numerical results show that the proposed algorithm performs better than other benchmark algorithms. It achieves satisfactory performance with low resolution phase shifters.

For the benefits of cloud computing, many enterprise companies have moved their services and apps to the cloud. the centralized cloud architecture experiences high workload, congestion, and delay bottlenecks resulting in high amounts of data and rapidly growing digits of connected devices that consume cloud services. Edge Computing (EC) is consequently presented as a new paradigm to increase cloud capabilities close to the end devices. Here, the task allocation is mentioned as the workload distribution amid innumerable nodes in an edge computing network. Major difficulties in workload distribution include locating each task optimally based on its needs for computing capacity, storing data, and bandwidth of the network, and adjusting to network’s continuously changing nature. Algorithms for workload allocation can be centralized, decentralized, hybrid, or based on machine learning. the selection of technique relies on the particular application’s pre-requisites. Each approach has advantages and disadvantages. In greater detail, the choice of the best work distribution techniques depends on the configuration and architecture of the edge computing system, namely MEC, joint computing of edge, fog and cloud, P2P EC and much more. As a result, allotting the tasks in edge computing is an intricate, varied, as well as a difficult challenge which calls for delicate balancing act amidst multiple potentially competing goals, inclusive of resource-aware, energy efficiency, machine learning with latency, safety and quality of Experience (QoE). Recent years have seen a rise in the amount of research studies on edge devices’ work allocation optimization and performance evaluation. this paper compares and contrasts several methods for work load distribution, algorithms which are much optimized, and the communication network types which are often employed in edge computing systems. © ICST Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering 2025.

mmWave massive multi-input multi-output (MIMO) systems with large-scale antenna array have potential to increase the spectral efficiency by orders of magnitude. One well-known drawback of this systems is that the power consumption of base station (BS) is considerable. To improve the energy efficiency and throughput, it is crucial that the BS acquires accurate downlink channel state information (CSI). However, this task is difficult since the CSI feedback overhead scales linearly with the number of antennas. In this paper, we propose an approach to maximize the energy efficiency of mmWave massive MIMO systems using a sparse channel feedback. Key idea of the proposed scheme is to choose a small number paths among the whole propagation paths in the angular domain channel and then exploit the channel information of chosen paths in the data precoding. From the performance analysis and the numerical results, we demonstrate that the proposed scheme achieves considerable energy efficiency improvement and feedback overhead reduction over the conventional CSI feedback-based schemes. © 2023 IEEE.
