While Wireless communication (WLC) enhances the user mobility and extends the connection and services to extreme isolated points, is the only way to establish a connection over long distance (mainly earth and space), it has many weak points: Interference, Spectrum limitations, bandwidth cost, various regulations, etc. But the major drawback is the security and risk vulnerabilities. To clarify this idea and highlight several security issues, we are working on the weak points of our wireless networks and communication protocols. In this manuscript, we develop several scenarios of Wireless attacks using simple and low-price equipment. Indeed using Software Defined Radio (SDR), a potential hacker can now access a wide range of wireless-based communication like Keyless entry, GPS and RFID system. Intelligent reflecting surface (IRS) has emerged as a promising solution for future networks in improving the coverage and spectral efficiency by adapting its reflection pattern to the channel environments. To enable this, it is essential to acquire channel state information for which deep learning networks have been popularly applied recently. In this paper, we apply and optimize a deep denoising network to estimate the IRS-cascaded frequency selective fading channel with a reduced reflection pilot pattern for an IRS-enhanced orthogonal frequency division multiplexing system. the proposed network designed to support various noise levels with a single network model is shown to provide a reasonably good channel extrapolation performance when compared with the benchmark networks optimized for each noise level.

the Internet of things (IoT) has become increasingly popular due to the growing number of IoT devices and the adoption of numerous communication protocols. With the renewed interest in Ultra-Wideband (UWB) positioning and recent reports on privacy infringements through UWB-enabled spyware, the consideration of privacy in UWB applications has become paramount. Currently, an IoT-centric security database is under development, VarIoT, however, there is no filter for privacy-or protocol-based vulnerabilities, risks, or threats and current UWB literature does not focus on ***, this work formalizes privacy risks as attack patterns, based on the UWB protocol and presents it in an ontology. the effectiveness of this ontology is exemplified by a case study that receives UWB artifacts as input and derives a set of privacy risks by relying on the presented formalized knowledge graph. By exhibiting the ontology's ability to automatically derive threats for an applied scenario an increased privacy preservation in UWB networks and solutions is reached. © 2022 IEEE.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) have become more popular in recent years for various uses. Despite their popularity, UAVs have one major disadvantage: a short flight time. this is undesirable for critical applications that require prolonged periods of UAV operation. Recent research has found a solution, and that is to use a tether to connect the UAV to a ground station that supplies *** innovations have led to the development of the suspended or hanging tethered UAV, where the tether source is located above the UAV rather than below. this setup is useful for situations where a high, elevated area is more accessible than the base area of the point of interest. the use of tether cables, however, also presents one problem, which is a drag. Too much tension or slack on the cable can impede the flight of the UAV, and the cable might also get entangled with the spinning rotors. therefore, a fast and responsive tether-cable management controller must be devised as a *** study focuses on developing a PID-based controller for the tether management system of a suspended tether-powered drone. this study employs a modified Ziegler-Nichols' rule-based tuning method to identify the potential gains of Kp and Kd. the study utilizes a heuristic approach to determine the optimum Ki value. Several tests were conducted to determine the appropriate PID gains. Finally, the performance of the PID-based controller was verified through an actual flight test. © 2022 IEEE.

Restaurant businesses require significant revenue generation to finance their operational costs. Without revenue, restaurants will operate under deficits, thus making operations unsustainable. this leads to increased risks of business closure and the inability to service any form of customer demand sustainably. Factors that affect revenue generation for restaurants include but are not limited to the following: capital, the availability and limit of stored ingredients, ingredient costs, customer demand, and food sales. this study used Integer Linear Programming (ILP) to model a simulated restaurant's monthly revenue sales. Optimal maximization of revenue served as the objective function of the ILP model. On the other hand, considerations in formulating the model's constraint equations include ingredient usage for each menu item, budget for ingredient purchase, and the monthly sales demand distribution of menu items. the MATLAB software was used to simulate the ILP model. the simulation results provided the optimal ingredient inventory configuration and the required number of sales for each menu item. © 2022 IEEE.

the evolution of Knowledge Graphs (KGs) has encouraged developers to create more and more context related KGs. this advance is extremely important because Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications can access domain specific information in a machine understandable format. In this paper, we present the conceptual model and semantics of the OWL ontology developed to capture information about the Eurostat website. the KG also contains some knowledge from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) website. We also describe how we constructed the ontology schema in order to capture all the data in Eurostat and some of the data in OECD, such as, articles, datasets, and internal connections between them, among others. Moreover, we show how we populated the KG with an automated process, resulting into a KG with more than 820K triples. Copyright © 2022 by SCITEPRESS – Science and Technology Publications, Lda. By early 2020, COVID-19 has caused a global pandemic which led to an enormous number of challenges worldwide in various sectors. the Philippine government has implemented multiple quarantine guidelines and travel restrictions to ensure the people's health and safety. However, the international Labour Organization projected an initial economic and labor market disruption affecting 11 million workers, or about 25% of the Philippine workforce, due to the pandemic. therefore, the government, thru the concerned agencies continues to encourage employers to implement alternative work plans such as a work-from-home (WFH) operation in compliance with the established regulations in line with existing laws and policies. In line with the telecommuting concept, various research has already been performed, however, some were regarded inconclusive and require further study. Hence, in this study, a Web application was developed along with an embedded fuzzy model to evaluate the telecommuting capability assessment of employees. the proposed web application with embedded fuzzy model is capable of providing capability assessment using the four main input variables which are also relatively characterized for possible telecommuting cost assessment. © 2022 IEEE.

Medical entity disambiguation (MED) plays a crucial role in natural language processing and biomedical domains, which is the task of mapping ambiguous medical mentions to structured candidate medical entities from knowledge bases (KBs). However, existing methods for MED often fail to fully utilize the knowledge within medical KBs and overlook essential interactions between medical mentions and candidate entities, resulting in knowledge- and interaction-inefficient modeling and suboptimal disambiguation performance. To address these limitations, this paper proposes a novel approach, MED with Medical Mention Relation and Fine-grained Entity Knowledge (MMR-FEK). Specifically, MMR-FEK incorporates a mention relation fusion module and an entity knowledge fusion module, followed by an interaction module. the former employs a relation graph convolutional network to fuse mention relation information between medical mentions to enhance mention representations, while the latter leverages an attention mechanism to fuse synonym and type information of candidate entities to enhance entity representations. Afterwards, an interaction module is designed to employ a bidirectional attention mechanism to capture interactions between medical mentions and entities to generate the matching representation. Extensive experiments on two publicly available real-world datasets demonstrate MMR-FEK's superiority over state-of-the-art(SOTA) MED baselines across all metrics. the example of an acoustic detection system for unmanned aerial vehicles demonstrates the capabilities of the logic-probabilistic trajectory modeling method for determining the survivability indicators of safety-critical systems with a grid structure of communication networks. Based on the proposed method, it is possible to create an automated system for assessing the survivability of safety-critical systems. this system will allow the designer to obtain quantitative values of survivability indicators at the stage of system engineering design, when the systems are still not physically implemented, through modeling. this will enable conducting a multi-variant analysis of design solutions, increasing the efficiency of system design, and significantly reducing time costs.
