communications reliability and security of Matter-enabled IoT networks are now gaining even more prominence with their widespread acceptance and deployment. Nonetheless, such advancements indeed introduce further challenges, most notably in the detection of the diverse set of anomalies caused by device faults and DDoS attacks that may destabilize the network. this paper presents a hybrid anomaly detection system specifically designed for Matter-enabled IoT environments where rule-based filtering is incorporated with an ML-based detection approach leveraging Extreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost). the rule-based module detects potential anomalies by applying predefined threshold conditions, and the XGBoost aims to curtail this detection into high detection capability and reduced false positives. the system is experimented with making the prediction on IoT telemetry data, achieving 97% precision, recall, and accuracy-greatly exceeding the lone detection strategies. the results prove how our approach can help mitigate the occurrence of false alarms, alongside imbalanced datasets being major obstacles in IoT networks' anomaly detection. Future research will further include the real-time detection application of sophisticated temporal models, scalable improvements, and security optimization within the confines of resource-constrained Matter-enabled IoT deployment.

Correcting spelling errors in texts extracted from Khmer palm leaf manuscripts by handwritten text recognition (HTR) systems can be very challenging. A Khmer Language Model developed in this study aims to facilitate the task mentioned above. the proposed model utilizes long short-term memory (LSTM) modules applicable for improving the performance of text recognition which is to predict a sequence of characters as output. the architecture of the language model is based on an encoder-decoder mechanism which is composed of two parts: an encoder to capture the context of the input erroneous word and a decoder to decode and predict the correctly spelt output word. Experimental evaluations are conducted on a text corpus consisting of Khmer words extracted from Sleuk-Rith set. © 2022 IEEE.

Connected and automated vehicles (CAV s) are considered to improve road transportation safety and traffic efficiency. For motion planning of CAVs in signalized intersections, we need to consider the right-of-way constraints while satisfying safety and efficiency constraints. However, due to the perception range limitation of a single CAV, it is hard to obtain a satisfying planning result that balances safety, efficiency and legality. In this paper, a hierarchical cooperative motion planning (CMP) framework is proposed using vehicle to infrastructure (V2I) communication. Specifically, the CMP problem is decomposed into two stages. the first stage contains the path planning layer which generates legal path according to the static road network information, then the second stage is further divided into two parts: priority ranking and speed planning. Experimental result demonstrates the capability of our algorithm to devise plans in different traffic flow conditions. © 2022 IEEE.

thanks to advancements in wireless networks, robotics, and artificial intelligence, future manufacturing and agriculture processes may be capable of producing more output with lower costs through automation. With ultra fast 5G mmWave wireless networks, data can be transferred to and from servers within a few milliseconds for real-time control loops, while robotics and artificial intelligence can allow robots to work alongside humans in factory and agriculture environments. One important consideration for these applications is whether the 'intelligence' that processes data from the environment and decides how to react should be located directly on the robotic device that interacts with the environment - a scenario called 'edge computing' - or whether it should be located on more powerful centralized servers that communicate with the robotic device over a network - 'cloud computing.' For applications that require a fast response time, such as a robot that is moving and reacting to an agricultural environment in real time, there are two important tradeoffs to consider. On the one hand, the processor on the edge device is likely not as powerful as the cloud server, and may take longer to generate the result. On the other hand, cloud computing requires both the input data and the response to traverse a network, which adds some delay that may cancel out the faster processing time of the cloud server. Even with ultra-fast 5G mmWave wireless links, the frequent blockages that are characteristic of this band can still add delay. To explore this issue, we run a series of experiments on the Chameleon testbed emulating both the edge and cloud scenarios under various conditions, including different types of hardware acceleration at the edge and the cloud, and different types of network configurations between the edge device and the cloud. these experiments will inform future use of these technologies and serve as a jumping off point for further research. © 2024 IEEE.

In this paper, we investigate the satellite-terrestrial system employing non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) scheme, where a full-duplex (FD) decode-and-forward (DF) relaying assists the user in weak channel condition. the effects of hardware impairments, imperfect channel state information (CSI) and imperfect interference cancellation on system performance are considered. For this setting, we derive the closed-form expressions of the exact and asymptotic outage probabilities as well as delay-limited sum throughput for NOMA users. Numerical results are provided to demonstrate the correctness of theoretical analysis and the superiority of adopting FD NOMA scheme in the proposed system.

Many actors in public institutions of higher education in Burkina Faso and around the world have used videoconferencing applications during the Covid-19 pandemic to conduct courses, pedagogical activities, participate in conferences and many other scientific activities. However, in the context of Burkina Faso where most of the actors use mobile Internet, the comfort of use of the different videoconference applications is often not satisfactory due to connectivity issues. In this paper, we propose a cutting-edge e-infrastructure to improve the usability of multipoint videoconferencing while preserving the mobility of users. the proposed e-infrastructure consists of a logical extension of the National Research and Education Network (FasoREN) access network such that multipoint videoconference calls initiated within a 5G network are routed towards FasoREN. It can be applied to any netwotk of type FasoREN a priori and in particular to those whose actors are more inclined to use the mobile Internet. © 2023, ICST Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering.

the primary properties of flying-ad-hoc-networks (FANETs), which are autonomous wireless networks, include high mobility, scalability for various applications, situations, and robustness to handle potential communication failures. they still face a number of limitations, including the restricted flying time of Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and lower throughput. Because the location of the UAV may be changed in FANET, it is possible to adjust the distance between two nodes and subsequently optimise the capacity of the related connection to increase network throughput. In this study, a simulation model for UAV ad-hoc network is built. Various antenna configurations are examined also. When we utilise up to a certain number of UAVs, the reduced latency makes single input single output (SISO) systems, capable of handling greater data rates. MIMO is shown to boost performance when the number of UAVs in the network surpasses a particular threshold, though. As the system's antenna count increases, its performance improves. the use of MIMO OFDM for terahertz communication in FANET is highlighted. the proposed architecture is built on the Marcov Chain paradigm. We arrive at the formulae for throughput, BER, path loss, and outage probability. When MIMO antennas are configured, the system's overall performance improves as its BER drops and its throughput rises.

the use of higher frequencies in mobile communication systems leads to smaller cell sizes, resulting in the deployment of more base stations and an increase in handovers to support user mobility. this can lead to frequent radio link failures and reduced data rates. In this work, we propose a handover optimization method using proximal policy optimization (PPO) to develop an adaptive handover protocol. Our PPO-based agent, implemented in the base stations, is highly adaptive to varying user equipment speeds and outperforms the 3GPP-standardized 5G NR handover procedure in terms of average data rate and radio link failure rate. Additionally, our simulation environment is carefully designed to ensure high accuracy, realistic user movements, and fair benchmarking against the 3GPP handover method.

the globalization of communication networks and the possibilities offered by the information and communication technologies (ICTs) significantly change the public sector's operation and services. Digital Governance is now integrated into administrations' policies and programs at all levels: local, regional, national, European. At the national level, there is a requirement to provide electronic public services according to citizens' needs while, in the sense of globalization, at the European level, there are many programs (e.g., the Europe 2005 and i2010 program) emphasizing the Digital Governance world (or better Digital Governance community) that indicates rapid changes not only in the sense of the change in the public sector's systems but also in the mentality that the public sector operates. On the other hand, Digital Governance's evolution affects societies intensively, emphasizing the importance of cross-border interaction and information sharing between them. [6]. Concerning the legal informatics domain, this can result in changing governments' operations in many ways [2]. By now, the massive amount of each country's legal information currently remains fragmented across multiple national databases and systems or even better legal databases. Most of these legal databases result from the significant advancements in the "legal informatics" research field that observed since governments have started to promote the development of legal information systems [9]. this research contributes to this purpose by developing an open and automated legal system capable of providing any EU country's legal information based on the existing ontologies.
