the large-scale deployment of Industrial Internet of things (IIoT) is still facing the challenge of providing reliable service with wireless networks, which is envisaged due to the severe multipath fading caused by numerous metal reflectors in industrial environments. therefore, the channel measurement for different multipath fading scenarios is an important part of exploring the channel characteristics of industrial environments. In this paper, we measured the wideband channel characteristics of a microelectronic manufacturing and a classroom environment with the similar volume. the comparison between them has demonstrated the essential empirical characterisations of wireless industrial channel. Based on these findings, we then propose an empirical PDP model and investigate the root mean square delay spread and coherent bandwidth in these two scenarios, which enabling insight understanding of the channel characteristics and the deployment of IIoT systems operating in industrial scenarios.

For wireless networks, it is highly attractive to design a QoS-aware strategy to manage the transmission power. In this paper, we present a fading immunization scheme based on the stochastic programming methodology. this scheme is applied to small autonomous wireless networks and incorporates a scenario tracking procedure to conduct QoS-aware optimization.

In the field of spectrum monitoring, the common visibility of sensors to the radio frequency (RF) source is the basic condition for passive localization and has an important influence on the real-time localization rate (RTLR). this paper presents the structure of cognitive wireless localization network (CWLN), which aims to maximize the RTLR by adjusting the spectral resource allocation strategy of sensors. We first present the definition of the RTLR and then regard it as the objective to formulate an optimization problem, where the decision variables are the sensors' real-time central frequencies (RTCFs). Since the problem is highly nonlinear, genetic algorithm (GA) is introduced to solve the problem effectively, and the time complexity is acceptable for practical application. Simulation results show that the optimization of sensors' RTCFs is helpful to improve the RTLRs of CWLN with respect to the RF sources. Simulations also prove the superiority of the proposed algorithm over the other three baseline algorithms.

this paper proposes a LoRa (Long Range) scheme based on improved index modulation to address the problems of inadequate system capacity, low data rate and poor Bit Error Ratio (BER) performance of index modulation-based LoRa communication systems. the scheme firstly embeds one bit in the conventional LoRa symbol to achieve slope shift keying modulation, then transmits the index combination of the slope shift keying symbol based on the index set obtained through the index mapper, and finally the optimal non-coherent detection algorithm at the receiver is given to realize the system capacity enhancement scheme. Simulation results show that the spectral efficiency, data rate and BER performance of the proposed scheme are better than the existing index-modulated LoRa scheme under the constant modulation bandwidth.

Micro-topography and micro-meteorological conditions have a significant impact on the operation of wind turbines in winter, especially the issue of blade icing. Icing not only reduces power generation efficiency but also leads to uneven mass distribution of the blades due to the added ice layer, resulting in asymmetric loads. this can trigger mechanical failures and ultimately cause equipment downtime. Currently, assessing the icing condition of blades mainly relies on changes in the power curve of wind turbines under specific climatic conditions and adjusting the operation strategy of the wind turbines. However, since changes in the power curve are influenced by various factors, directly observing the icing condition of the blades is difficult, increasing the risk of misjudgment. To address this issue, this paper proposes a novel icing monitoring sensor for wind turbine blades. the sensor is designed to be installed on the surface of the blades, featuring self-power generation, wireless transmission, and flexibility, enabling real-time monitoring of the increase and decrease of the ice layer on the blade surface.

this paper studies packet loss and delay for a wireless fading channel using stochastic network calculus. Specifically, the wireless fading channel is modeled as a Bernoulli ON-OFF channel. then an optimization problem is formulated to maximize average channel throughput. Further the stochastic service curve is deduced. Packet loss distribution and delay distribution are derived under a compound Poisson arrival process. Finally, numerical results can provide reference for the performance analysis of communication networks with strict requirements for packet loss and delay.

Due to the Covid-19 epidemic the need for digital E-learning systems become mandatory. Also, most sectors that faced a shortage in E-learning systems are performing laboratory experiments remotely. For this reason, this research paper focuses on providing a complete Laboratory Learning Management System (LLMS) with generic and intelligent performance evaluation for experiments. the new LLMS offers many services from intelligently and automatically doing performance assessments and assistance for the students while performing the experiments online. the new performance assessment module provides regular assessment for experimental steps added to it the intelligent automatic assessment that detects if the students performed the experiments correctly from their mouse dynamics using an AI algorithm. Moreover, the new LLMS uses an analytic module to provide the teachers with analyzed results and charts to describe the behavior of students in various performed experiments. Regarding, the new performance assistant module provides students with complete assistance by pressing the help button to trigger the virtual tutor to explain any experimental steps. Furthermore, it intelligently to collects the mouse dynamics of the student performing the experiments and uses AI algorithms to detect if students face difficulties and provide them with suitable help automatically. Moreover, it can open a chat session with a real teaching assistant or a classmate to help the students. Furthermore, the new performance assessment and assistant services are considered generic because they used the mouse dynamic behavior of students which is suitable for any type of software used in the laboratory, without the need for a special device or extra cost.

For distributed computing, there is an urgent need to solve the problem of device placement, so we propose an innovative graph neural network framework NEAGMamba. It employs a decoupling and importance score evaluation mechanism to prevent excessive smoothing of node encodings during the aggregation process. In addition, a new Graph Mamba Network (Gmamba) is designed to replace the traditional GNN, capable of extracting node characteristics and capturing remote dependencies. Specifically, the features of each node are decoupled into two parts: discriminant features and aggregation features. At the same time, the proposed GMamba is used to obtain the aggregation features. Finally, the importance of adjacent nodes is evaluated by the importance score to realize the integration of adjacent information. the experimental results showed that the execution time was improved by 13.55% using NEAGMamba compared to Placeto. NEAGMamba performed 8.18% better than GraphSAGE and 1.22% better than P-GNN. In terms of computation time, NEAGMamba increased by 96.96% compared with Placeto, 97.34% with GraphSAGE and 96.86% with P-GNN. © the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

Convolutional neural networks have been used for cancer type prediction with gene expression data. However, its success is impeded by the lack of large labeled datasets in gene expression data. the class imbalance problem leads to that the model ignores the performance of the minority class. To handle the small sample size problem, fine-tuning CNN is used to transfer the knowledge of pre-trained model for cancer type predicting. the dataset with one cancer is used for training a model. the pre-model is fine-tuned with the training set of a new cancer type, and the fine-tuned model could be used for identifying the new cancer type. And the SMOTE resampling method is used for handling the class imbalance problem. We carried out experiments on the TCGA datasets with 1D-CNN and 2D-CNN models. the fine-tuned 1D-CNN obtains 97.5% accuracy, 98.6% Fscore of cancer type and 78.1% Fscore of normal type on average, and fine-tuned 2D-CNN obtains 97.4% accuracy, 98.5% Fscore of cancer type and 77.4% of normal type on average. Using fine-tuned CNN with SMOTE, the accuracy, Fscore of cancer type and the one of normal type are respectively increased about 1.5%, 0.5% and 21.5% on average. © 2022 ACM.
