Access to large and diverse computer-aided design (cad) drawings is critical for developing symbol spotting algorithms. In this paper, we present FloorPlancad, a large-scale real-world cad drawing dataset containing over 10,000 floor plans, ranging from residential to commercial buildings. cad drawings in the dataset are all represented as vector graphics, which enable us to provide line-grained annotations of 30 object categories. Equipped by such annotations, we introduce the task of panoptic symbol spotting, which requires to spot not only instances of countable things, but also the semantic of uncountable stuff. Aiming to solve this task, we propose a novel method by combining Graph Convolutional Networks (GCNs) with Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), which captures both non-Euclidean and Euclidean features and can be trained end-to-end. the proposed CNN-GCN method achieved state-of-the-art (SOTA) performance on the task of semantic symbol spotting, and help us build a baseline network for the panoptic symbol spotting task. Our contributions are three-fold: 1) to the best of our knowledge, the presented cad drawing dataset is the first of its kind;2) the panoptic symbol spotting task considers the spotting of both thing instances and stuff semantic as one recognition problem;and 3) we presented a baseline solution to the panoptic symbol spotting task based on a novel CNN-GCN method, which achieved SOTA performance on semantic symbol spotting. We believe that these contributions will boost research in related areas. the dataset and code is publicly available at https://***/.

In this paper we introduce a hierarchical region decomposition algorithm for triangle meshes segmentation based on quadric surface fitting. Initially, the whole mesh represents a single cluster. At every iteration, the region with largest error is divided and Lloyd iteration clustering is executed following, which make sure the segmentation has the minimum error in each hierarchical level. An error control strategy is used to get finally result automatically. Besides, users also can interpose this process by specifying the segmentation level. Each segmentation region after this process has a best fitting proxy of quadric surface. We propose an improved L 2,1 distance into a hybrid error, which is used in least square fit of quadric function. By comparing with the state-of-the art methods, our method is testified to be insensitive to noise. Model optimization and hole filling based on our algorithm are demonstrated in the last.

Watermarking has been used for protecting the copiright information in various data such as audio signals, images and video. Copiright protection of graphical objects and models is important for protecting author rights in animation, multimedia, computcr-aided design (cad), virtual reality, medical imaging, etc. Watermarking techniques in 3D graphical objects are facing new challenges because of the specific nature of the information available in 3D graphics. In this paper we suggest a blind watermarking algorithm for 3D models and objects. A string of bits is embedded in the geometrical structure of the graphical objcct by changing the locations of certain vertices. the criterion employed for selecting the vertices ensures a minimal visibility of the distortion in the watermarked object. the proposed 3D graphical object algorithm is applied in various 3D graphical models including characters and industrial objects. © 2002 IEEE.

Off-chip memory security has become a prime concern in embedded computing systems due to the requirement of storing a large amount of potentially sensitive information in them. Existing solutions have performance imperfection because of their deployment of hash tree or unaffordable on-chip memory overhead. In this paper, we propose an efficient off-chip memory protection mechanism based on Advanced Encryption Standard - Galois/Counter Mode (AES-GCM) to provide both confidentiality and integrity protection for data and programs transferred from processor to off-chip memory in embedded computing systems. Our proposal is a novel memory protection mechanism: in order to ensure security and minimize on-chip memory overhead, AES-GCM hardware engine is running and dynamically switching between two modes, one mode for processing data and programs (DP mode), the other mode for processing the cryptographic parameter of IV (IV mode). It can resist well-known physical attacks, including replay attacks, relocation attacks and spoofing attacks. We demonstrate that our memory protection mechanism incurs as little as 1.56% on-chip memory overhead and has an average performance decline of about 9.0%.

the paper is dedicated to theoretical research of spatial indexing methods in conformity to three dimensional scenes arising in cad/CAM systems, robotics, virtual and augmented reality applications. Special attention is given to the decomposition methods based on regular dynamic octrees. A particular version of the octrees is described and investigated to satisfy to the efficiency requirements for typical spatial queries in complex dynamic scenes with the extended borders objects. To perform the needed complexity analysis, the developed octree structure is analyzed against typical spatial queries like collision detection, frustum culling. To obtain more relevant estimates of the complexity on average rather than known pessimistic estimates in worst case, model scene datasets have been introduced. they assume uniform distribution of equal size objects over the scene volume and, being parametric, allow simulation of wide range of industry meaningful scenes. Some auxiliary lemmas about octree depth and distribution of the scene objects over octree levels have been proven based on probabilistic analysis. Final theorem statements provides for the complexity estimates of query evaluation for the model scenes. the obtained results show that asymptotic complexity grows with the object sizes and the scene occupancy. However, the estimates on average improve known results in worst case and can be considered as a theoretical background to introduce the investigated indexing structures to practical applications. © 2015 Institute of Physics and Technology.

the elementary function approximation using piecewise quadratic polynomial interpolation requires larger area of the look-up table (LUT) and circuit. To solve the problem, this paper presents an algorithm for elementary function approximation in single-precision floating-point format, which is based on minimax piecewise cubic polynomial approximation. the algorithm can efficiently achieve the approximation of reciprocal, square root, square root reciprocal, exponentials, logarithm, and trigonometric function in single-precision floating-point format. According to the algorithm the range of parameters is narrowed first, then we get the optimal truncated bit width of coefficients through errors analyzing and dividing the interval into subsections. Meanwhile Remes algorithm is used to perform the successive optimization, so as to reduce the area of LUT and circuit. At last the intermediate parameters of the circuit are optimally truncated, and the overall framework of hardware circuit is designed. the analysis and experimental results show that comparing with piecewise quadratic polynomial approximation the circuit delay is reduced by 17.25%, the area of LUT is decreased by 53.60% and total area of circuits is reduced by 19.73%. the comparisons with the polynomial approximation of degree-1, degree-2, degree-4 are also made, the results show that the piecewise cubic polynomial interpolation algorithm proposed by this paper can achieve optimal performance and minimized cost of hardware implementation.

Collision detection and resolution are of great importance to physically based animation. Real time responses are essential for many applications, which largely rely on the efficiency of localising the potentially colliding geometry and calculating the polygon intersections. It is an extremely heavy computation task using the existing polygon based methods, especially for deformable objects. To improve this issue, we present an implicit circumsphere based collision detection and resolution method for deformable objects which takes into consideration both local geometry features and the material properties. Our method approximates the mesh in question with an implicit circumsphere surface, which is used to perform finest level collision detection and resolution instead of the original polygonal mesh. the dynamic deformation as a result of collision is determined by both the geometry and the material properties of the surface. Due to the simplicity of sphere overlap test, our method is not only computationally efficient, but also stable and comparatively accurate, outperforming the existing methods in overall performance. Our implicit circumsphere method can also provide better prevention to collision tunnelling than existing methods. Besides, this method is compatible with all existing broad phase and narrow phase collision query techniques.

A web based interactive environment specially for Engineering graphics education is proposed, which provides a virtual collaborative education platform for geographically distributed teachers and students. the system of B/S (browser/server) mode, different from general netmeeting program, can make a vectorgraph of DWG format show on clients' browsers online synchronously. And then the graphics can be discussed by modifying the objects or putting designed marks on it, as if on a sheet of blueprint. the updated objects by a user can show on the others' browsers immediately. the users can also talk and listen to each other to express their own opinions. In the system the users are organized in different groups according to respective interested topics. In a group there is a controller and the control power can be transferred among the members. the system serves as a bridge between students and teachers for their extracurricular activities. With the tool the student can give his/her haze on browser and ask for help or choose their desired teacher to give some advice, while the teacher can correct student's schoolwork on their own browser. When the schoolwork is checked and corrected, no suspicion of its version is needed to have, the original drawing remains intact and the subsequent external marks are saved in different file respectively. Once the teacher wants to disabuse and give his instructions to one or some students he should only declare or inform them to come to the website at same time and no necessary to come to classroom. Now it has integrated together with a self developed Web based Engineering graphics courseware and a praxis system into a complete web based engineering education system.

design collaboration relies on cognitive tools such as analog media and digital peripheral devices, and shows the characteristics of distributed cognition. It uses external cognitive tools to encode, decode, and share information in the process of collaboration. Current collaboration systems prevent seamless information sharing because they use dispersed mixed media that is often overloaded with representations and functionality. the goal of this study is to understand the overheads in information collection and sharing using peripheral devices, and to provide designers with a supportive platform to enhance collaboration using both analog and digital media. this paper reviews available peripheral devices such as smart pens, digital cameras, and voice recorders, as well as existing collaboration supporting systems for their benefits and deficiencies in collaboration. It also presents "DiNa", a collaboration platform that is envisioned to improve productivity and reduce redundant work by integrating peripheral devices into the collaboration workflow. We demonstrate a possible workflow using this system through several scenarios where designers collaborate in performing a series of design tasks. the calculation of an exact minimal cover of a Boolean function [2] is an NP-complete problem, which has an important application in circuit design. the required time for the calculation could be reduced by a factor of more than 3.5 * 107 in [8] and even 8 * 108 in [7]. In this paper we give a introduction into the definition of this problem and its basic solution. the main contribution of this paper are algorithms which enlarge the improvement factor mentioned above on this very high level for 32 variables p i and 1024 clauses furthermore to 1.8 * 1010 using a single CPU-core and finally 1.2 * 1011 using a GPU. © 2013 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
