the Fisher-Suede distribution was recently proposed as an accurate and tractable composite fading model in the context of device-to-device conununications. the present work derives the product of the Fisher-Snedecor T composite fading model, which is useful in characterizing fading effects in numerous realistic conununication scenarios. To this end, novel analytic expressions are first derived for the probability density function, the cumulative distribution function and the moment of the product of N statistically independent, but not necessarily identically distributed, Fisher-Snedecor random variables. Capitalizing on these expressions, we derive tractable closed-form expressions for channel quality estimation of the proposed model as well as the corresponding outage probability and average bit error probability for binary modulations. the offered results are corroborated by extensive Monte-Carlo simulation results, which verify the validity of the derived expressions. It is shown that the number of cascaded channels affects considerably the corresponding performance, as a variation of over an order of magnitude is observed across all signal-to-noise ratio regimes.

the gaming industry is affected by two key issues-cheating and DDoS attacks against game servers. In this paper, we aim to present a novel yet concrete application of the blockchain technology to address the seemingly disparate problems. Our approach uses blockchain to manage definitive game state and exploits peer consensus on every player action to track modifications to tangible player assets. While a key impediment to adopting blockchain for real-time systems is its high per-operation latency, our approach leverages several optimizations to enable real-time prevention of a large class of cheats where the reported client state is inconsistent with the observed state at the server. Further, blockchain-based games leverage the robust peer-to-peer architecture to successfully defend against DDoS attacks. Our strategy enables flexibility to customize games with minimum modifications to game clients by porting server-side logic to smart contracts that execute atop peers. We evaluate our approach on a recent port of the multi-player game Doom. Our prototype can scale to client tickrates matched by modern games, and prevent cheats in <150ms for 32 peers deployed across the internet, which is well within the latency requirements for online gaming.

With the advancement of internet of things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies, outcomes derived from diverse sets of collected data are finding applications in the business domain. In particular, edge AI technology, which combines edge computing and artificial intelligence, emerged to address real-time response limitations, is garnering considerable attention as a solution to the real-time response constraints faced by AI services within operated cloud environments. Nevertheless, the development of AI services within an edge-cloud environment presents numerous challenges, such as limited computing resources at the edge, the portability of learning models, and dependencies on code libraries during the build phase. Consequently, various open source projects and companies are actively advancing MLOps solutions. In this paper, we describe the development of a microservice-based MLOps platform utilizing open source for the development of AI services and the deployment of generated models in an edge-cloud environment built using lightweight edge hardware, software, and designated servers assuming the role of a cloud system. © 2023 IEEE.

Data clustering, as one of the major algorithms in facial feature data mining, its efficiency and quality plays a key role. DBSCAN is a classic density-based clustering algorithm. It is applicable to any shape of subset or cluster and is comparatively anti-noise, but because of its slow running speed, it has long convergence time when the data set is large. For this reason, the paper presents an improved DBSCAN algorithm based on distributed computing system, by making full use of the characteristic of high time partial similarity of facial feature under the monitoring scene, first to merge the features which belong to the same target, then to segment the merged result using DBSCAN algorithm. the test results show that although this new algorithm has no modification in the aspect of time complexity, but greatly improved clustering speed, which enables the system to process million-level datasets. © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2021.

internet Addiction has reached an epidemic level worldwide. Since the 1990’s the internet has exploded to become an important part of our daily live. It was best described as a sword with two edges. On one side, it brought the whole world to our fingertips. On the other side, the excessive use of it can and will lead to a state of mental and psychological disorder, hence the term internet Addiction Disorder IAD. Kuwait, a tiny nation in the Arab Gulf countries was the first in the area to shed some light on the problem in 2009 by conducting a public awareness campaign in the traditional media. Since then, the government, along with other organizations, started to take some measures to control this disorder without any success because most of the measures were restrictive in nature rather than positive. this paper will revisit the internet addiction scene among university students in Kuwait after 8 years from publishing the first paper as measured by the internet Addiction Test (IAT) to measure the level of awareness and percentage of highly addicted students compared to the early results, and describe the efforts taking place to control it at the government, organization, and family level. © Springer international Publishing AG 2018.

Today Blockchain, a decentralized, and distributed ledger technology have started taking over almost all the applications from banking, agriculture, finance, transportation, etc. Such enhancements are possible when this technology is enabled with some other technology like the internet of things, cloud computing, machine learning, etc. this paper does a thorough evaluation of the literature concerning blockchain enabling IoT-based applications in diverse sectors. the goal is to look at the current state of blockchain based IoT systems and applications and to demonstrate how special qualities of this technology can transform the working methods in the industry. We analysed high-quality papers published in high-ranking scientific journals over the last years to write this paper. this work presents a comprehensive classification of IoT and Blockchain enabled applications across many sectors such as Agriculture, Business, Supply Chain, Data Management, Finance, Healthcare, IoT, and Privacy, and in the end, we have added recent trends, emerging areas, and open challenges, for future research across various sectors and industries, based on a structured, systematic review and thematic content analysis of the discovered literature. We feel that our work will be of tremendous use to both academics and practitioners because we have discovered such critical components for this technology. © 2022 ACM.

the internet of things (IoT) encompasses a wide range of applications;despite that, some challenges persist and require further research and development. One such challenge is encountered in sensing devices, particularly in internet of Video things (IoVT) applications that demand high-capacity wireless transmission. these applications face limitations in computational capability and energy consumption of users, posing significant obstacles to overcome. Mobile edge computing (MEC) has gained attention as it offers potential solutions by offloading complex tasks to assist users. However, the line-of-sight (LoS) issue between users and base stations (BS) caused by blocking objects remains a challenge in MEC. To address latency challenges in IoVT communication affected by obstacles, a collaborative framework between reconfigurable intelligence surfaces (RIS) and task offloading techniques in MEC, specifically in IoVT networks, is proposed. this collaboration aims to optimize the performance and efficiency of IoVT systems by harnessing the combined advantages of RIS and task offloading strategies. © 2023 IEEE.

With the rapid development of the mobile internet, many emerging compute-intensive and data-intensive tasks are extremely sensitive to latency and cannot be implemented on mobile devices (MDs). To solve this problem, mobile edge computing (MEC) appears to be a promising solution. In this paper, we propose a distributed task splitting and offloading algorithm (DSOA) for the scenario of multi-device and multi-MEC servers in ultra-dense networks (UDN). In the proposed scheme, the MDs can perform their tasks locally or offload suitable percentage of tasks to the MEC server. the optimization goal is to minimize the overall task computation time. Since the MDs are selfish, we propose a game theory approach to achieve optimal global computation time. Finally, the numerical simulation results verify that the algorithm can effectively reduce global computation time. © 2020, ICST Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering.

In our swiftly digitizing world, the importance of low-earth-orbit satellite (LEO SAT) communication is escalating. Advancements in 5G, IoT, and AI underscore the need for a robust communication network. Research reveals that nearly 40% of the global population faces internet service challenges due to limited high-performance access by 2022. this technology not only addresses coverage limitations but also mitigates latency issues. Multinational corporations like SpaceX and Amazon are already exploring its potential. As we approach the 6G era, users' computational demands surge, prompting satellite edge computing with onboard processing. Our paper proposes a multi-hop code offloading model using LEO SAT, reducing energy consumption, and introduces a dynamic optimization algorithm for LEO SAT - mobile edge computing. the research aims to enhance satellite-based communication networks, with a focus on optimizing satellite edge computing efficiency. © 2023 IEEE.
