Digital signal Processing (DSP) utilizes the efficient Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) Methodology that is used to alter, filter, and decode digital audio, video, and image data. FFT is used to design Electrical Circuits, to solve differential equations, to analyze signals and to process images. Distributed Arithmetic (DA) is a multiplier-less implementation technique that computes the inner dot product between two signals-fixed and varying by using shifters and adders. It takes the values in a bit-serial fashion which suits for real-time processing. the Computation logic Blocks (CLBs) of field programmable Gate Anays (FPGAs) Utilize Distributed Arithmetic. FFT can be calculated using the DA method. the existing method to calculate FFT is based on complex multiplications and additions which consume time as well as power. Hence DA based FFT has been proposed in which the delay is 29.3% less and the power is 21.8% less than that of the existing method. © 2023 IEEE.

We have developed an electromagnetic field analysis technique for a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) and an equivalent thermal circuit model of the PMSM using the thermal resistance and heat generation characteristics obtained by the electromagnetic field analysis. In the electromagnetic field analysis, a three-dimensional 1/6 model of the PMSM was used to simulate the relationship between electric current and rotation speed, and the relationship between electric current and torque. As a result of measuring the relationship between current and rotation speed, and these relationships in analytical and experimental results were in good agreement. In addition, the losses of the PMSM at a current of 10A were respectively 48.4W in the electromagnetic field analysis and 52.8W in the measurement result, which are almost the same value. the temperature of each part of the PMSM was calculated from an equivalent circuit model in which the heat dissipations from each part of the motor to other parts and the air were approximated using the obtained thermal resistance. A comparison the temperature of the PMSM measured with a thermoviewer with the thermal analysis result shows that the thermal analysis model can reproduce the characteristics of steady and transit temperatures. © 2023 IEEE.

In onshore pipelines, cold field bends are regularly used for planned and in-situ pipeline route adjustments. the cold field bending operation consists of curving permanently a straight pipe until the desired change of alignment is achieved. the bends are achieved by locally bending the pipe against a die using a pipe bending machine. Bending against the die imposes a transversal plastic deformation over a short distance, many such local deformations are made to form the required cold field bend. thus, cold field bends experience plastic strains from the formation process and residual stresses are left in the finished product. the onshore pipeline industry typically disregards residual stresses from cold bending as these are difficult to evaluate;mainly, because the main pipeline stress software packages used by the industry do not capture them. this empirical approach has provided a good record of pipeline service reliability for many years;although, international codes such as ASME B31.8 transfer the ultimate responsibility to determine whether such stresses should be evaluated to engineers (projects). For applications in sour service environments, where additional plasticity during operation generally needs to be avoided, the influence of these residual stresses may be significant, and the robustness of the current practice should be considered. In this context, this paper presents a comparative finite element analysis (FEA) using ABAQUS to evaluate the impact of the residual stresses from cold field bending on the overall stress state during operation. Analyses are performed using a representative single 14" x 19.05mm x 80D x 14.7 degrees cold field bend which is buried in a non-cohesive soil. To bound the range of local curvatures that the bend has to withstand during the formation process, models are run with a bend uniformly bent to 52D which relaxes to 80D, and a bend with 24 short sections bent to 17D (die radius) which relaxes to an average of 80D with a n

In recent years, the growing availability of extended reality (XR) technology through mobile, tablet, headset, and wearable devices has led to increased research and development on XR applications in aviation. XR has the potential to enrich the task and training environment of pilots, air traffic controllers, maintenance technicians, and flight crews by augmenting elements of the physical world, enabling remote task support, and providing immersive, controllable environments for safety-critical training. this technology can also improve human factors experiments as it allows for the emulation of environments and systems in various areas of aviation. As this technology develops and new trends emerge, understanding the current state of research can illuminate best practices, limitations, and key considerations to support the application of XR. the purpose of this paper is to provide a critical review of XR applications within the field of aviation through two means: a scientometric analysis and qualitative review of recent scientific studies. Common trends, themes, and applications are identified in the existing literature providing a snapshot of the research at this time. Implications of these findings for future research directions and applications within aviation are discussed.

Neural networks are widely used in image detection and identification applications because of their efficacy in handling complex problems. However, they require substantial memory bandwidth and CPU operations, limiting the performance of conventional CPUs. To address this challenge, researchers have developed an FPGA hardware accelerator for Convolution Neural Networks (CNNs). To enhance acceleration performance in CNNs, researchers have identified three key techniques: parallelization, memory optimization, and specialized data flow. A new network on-Chip paradigm was created by the researchers to reduce the off-chip memory Optimization according to researchers, a Network-on-Chip (NoC) architecture and Systolic Arrays (SA) have been created to enhance runtime, computational efficiency, and throughput while reducing off-chip memory traffic. In this paper recent trends in the NoC-Based CNN architecture have been represented.

As we are aware that many indoor and outdoor fires abruptly occur every day around the world, which results as a major factor to global warming, hundreds of casualties and serious threat to property safety. thus, the early prediction of fire is particularly become our utmost priority to reduce the loss, because once the fire spreads, it is difficult to control. Generally, the early detection of fire has its association with raising smoke, which is the smoldering stage of fire. In this stage, the smoke demonstrates different textures, colors, and shapes. the novel idea of this paper is to perform the fire prediction using the statical and dynamical smoke features. the static features of smoke are considered as color, texture and shape, while the dynamic features are derived from its motion field. the smoke dynamic motion is computed in terms of optical flow field color map, and used to represent the active regions of the image sequence (video). therefore, a fractional order based variational model is presented for optical flow determination. these estimated color maps are further divided into the three color channels. the color channels manifesting smoke motion sensitivity are segmented with the aid of binary masks. Next, the segmented color maps along with the corresponding image sequences are used in a novel CNN architecture to detect smoke. In order to validate the model performance, a thorough comparison study is also depicted with several state-of-the-art models. A diverse collection of datasets comprised of 16 and 19 smoke and non-smoke videos, respectively, is considered for experiments. © 2023 IEEE.

the Internet of things (IoT) is a rapidly growing field, encompassing various devices and sensors that produce enormous quantities of data. On the other hand, microservices architecture has emerged as a popular solution for developing complex software applications on a large scale. Combining these two technologies has the potential to revolutionize the creation of powerful and scalable IoT applications. By leveraging the benefits of microservices, such as modularity and decoupling, developers can design more flexible, scalable, and resilient IoT systems. In this paper, we present a thorough analysis of the state-of-the-art research regarding the use of microservices in the development of IoT systems. We summarize thirty selected studies and discuss their contributions to the field. Additionally, this paper offers valuable insights into the use of microservices in IoT applications, which can inform the design and development of future IoT systems. Finally, we outline and explain the future research opportunities that the microservices paradigm can offer in the context of the IoT. © 2023 IEEE.

A field programmable gate array (FPGA) is a type of programmable logic device that the consumer can modify after production to carry out a variety of tasks, from fundamental logic gate operations to AI systems and beyond. Streaming has become the dominant source of media consumption, which not only applies to the widely researched field of video streaming, but also to music streaming. Here, previous studies so far have only researched the impact of streaming aspects, such as stalling events or initial loading times, on the QoE of music streaming. However, when using a music streaming application, users are already facing waiting times along the click path before they can start the actual streaming. these waiting times are caused by browsing delays, e.g., during searching for songs or scrolling through playlists, and can potentially deteriorate the QoE of the music streaming application. In this work, we conduct an online QoE study to quantify the impact of these browsing delays with the support of an emulated mobile music streaming web app. We found that browsing delays have no impact on the music streaming QoE, which shows that users are able to clearly distinguish between the two main functionalities of such apps, namely, browsing and streaming. However, browsing delays significantly reduce the QoE of the entire music streaming application, to a similar extent as if QoE degradations happen during the actual streaming. this shows that both browsing and streaming are equally important and have to be considered when designing music streaming applications.
