the paper proposes a model of management and configuration of competences of a team conducting advanced training in the field of IT, electronics, robotics and other advanced technologies. the model enables decision support in managing the training team and finding answers to numerous questions in this area. the most important questions include: Does the team have the appropriate composition and competences to conduct a training cycle in accordance with a given schedule? What competences are missing in the team to conduct the training cycle? What composition of the team of trainers ensures that the trainings can be conducted as scheduled in the absence of any trainer? etc. the model was formulated as a set of questions and a set of constraints. An approach that integrates mathematical programming and constraint logic programming was used to implement the model. the data has been saved in the form of facts, which enables their storage in both SQL and NoSQL databases and easy integration with decision support systems.

Medical image segmentation is a critical process in identifying disease-infected regions for diagnostic and treatment purposes. this paper introduces an FPGA-based framework for implementing the Expectation Maximization/Markov Random field (E M/MP M) algorithm in 3D medical image segmentation. FPGA platforms offer unparalleled advantages in terms of parallel processing, speed, and energy efficiency, making them a promising choice for real-time medical image analysis. this proposed framework enables rapid segmentation of 3D images, leveraging the FPGA's on-chip memory and custom logic for efficient pixel classification and data processing. the adaptive design also supports the integration of external RAM for larger datasets. Simulated using Verilog HDL and Quartus Prime, this work demonstrates accurate segmentation results through virtual testing, thus showcasing the system's robustness for medical applications.

A wideband substrate integrated coaxial line (SICL)-fed planar dipole antenna array is investigated for millimeter wave applications. Different from the traditional dual-armed dipole antenna, a balanced symmetric structure is formed to improve the cross-polarization level by canceling the vertically polarized electric-field components. Meanwhile, three slots are etched on the dipole arms for two operating modes to broaden the operating bandwidth of the dipole element. By these methods, the dipole antenna achieves a cross-polarization level below -28 dB and an impedance bandwidth of more than 65%. To further improve the gain of the antenna, a 1x8 dipole array is proposed. the measured results show that the proposed dipole array can achieve a wide -10 dB impedance bandwidth of more than 70.6% from 22.3 to 47 GHz, and cross-polarization levels below -20 dB. With the merits of wideband, low cross-polarization, low profile and easy integration, the proposed antenna array is valuable to millimeter wave communication.

this paper presents a wide-beam circular polarization antenna design for satellite applications. the antenna consists of three parts: main radiation patch, circular parasitic patch, and mushroom-shaped parasitic structure. the antenna performs well in terms of far-field radiation performance by adjusting the structural parameters of the circular parasitic patch. the impedance matching is adjusted by optimizing the size of the mushroom-shaped parasitic structure. the simulation results show that this antenna can be realized better impedance matching at 279-283 MHz (S-11 <-15 dB), the 3-dB beam-width at the central frequency exceeds 200 degrees, and the axial ratio is smaller than 4 dB. It has great circular polarization performance within wide-beam.

Agriculture 4.0 is emerging as the next big trend, with a focus on smart and precision agriculture to maximise benefits in the context of growing populations and climate change. Agriculture 4.0 supports the adoption of intelligent systems in all spheres of farming, harvesting, irrigation, and so on. though there is enough inclusion of Artificial Intelligence and Internet of things (IoT) based systems in developed countries, agriculture sector of Bangladesh did not receive that much attention. To mitigate this gap, a Big Data and IoT based architecture for crop, fisheries, and livestock has been proposed in this paper based on the existing research advancements around the world where different nodes and actuators will be implemented in field level to read environmental stimuli and forward to cloud server for processing. A thorough review work was performed on agriculture 4.0, and these framework were analysed from the perspective of Bangladesh. this paper will fulfil the requirement of a connection between the existing state of the art researches and its suitability in terms of a developing country like Bangladesh. © 2022 IEEE.

the problem of Business-IT alignment has been addressed by many researchers over the years, notably from the traditional and classic point of view of aligning Application and Business layers to make it easier for business users with no technical knowledge to use IT systems and meet their functional needs in a simple and efficient way. then, with the emergence of cloud computing and the ultimate use of cloud resources and technologies, research on business and IT alignment was extended from the on-premises to the cloud environment. the subject has recently been taken up by researchers in the field of business process (BP), and several approaches have emerged, almost all based on the same CloudSocket architecture, which suffers from several limitations, including process automation and the formalization of methods using new technologies such as process mining. the main aim of this paper is not to define the problem of alignment between Business and IT, as this has already been addressed in our previous publications, but rather to discuss the possibility of using process mining technology to allocate resources in the cloud and so automate that alignment.

the automation of soccer video analysis is an area of recent interest, particularly the 3D reconstruction of soccer matches from broadcast video. One important task is the camera center determination. the camera center is calculated from a single soccer match image. It is assumed that a model of the soccer field with known dimensions is accessible. Two different approaches are presented: 1. Camera matrix determination;and 2. Homography matrix determination. It is shown that the homography matrix can be determined using mapped points and lines. Both methods are compared. To improve the numerical stability, a normalization procedure is used. Both methods with normalization are also compared. the results showed that the combination of points and lines with normalization improved the obtained results.

For induction motor speed control (IMSC) Stator-flux slip control (SFSC) is the simplest strategy due to its scheme with decoupled loops for stator flux dq components and that does not require internal current controllers, presenting good results with fast dynamics response. Nevertheless, direct torque control (DTC) is the most common strategy presenting good results including for the induction machine generating, but it presents a more complex scheme. In turn, field-oriented control (FOC) is able to control the electromagnetic torque in an equivalent way to that of independent excitation dc machine and with similar performance of DTC, but with an even more complex scheme. this work proposes a comparison of these control strategies for maximum power point tracking (MPPT) of squirrel cage induction generator (SCIG)-based wind energy conversion systems (WECS). the obtained results demonstrated that the DTC and FOC techniques present better MPPT performance in comparison to SFSC, but this was not good enough to surpass the MPPT performance of SFSC plus its lowest total harmonic distortion (thD) and simplest scheme. For this reason, SFSC is the most suitable taking into consideration these performance indexes.

Reversible logic is becoming increasingly important with the rise of technologies like quantum computing, as it retains information during computation and maintains a one-to-one mapping between input and output patterns. Quantum circuits are inherently reversible and the best computational model in quantum computing systems. Some quantum signal processing applications like filters and image processing applications require the results of arithmetic operations to be saturated. Saturation occurs when adding two numbers with the same sign and this can be done through a quantum saturating adder. this paper proposed a reversible quantum saturating adder with efficient quantum criteria like quantum cost, number of ancilla, and number of garbage outputs. We firstly propose a reversible n-bit quantum saturation generator block which is applied to a quantum adder and construct a quantum saturating adder circuit. the proposed circuit is simulated using the Quirk online tool and the result confirms the accuracy of the design. this design achieves 18% and 33% improvement in quantum cost and garbage outputs, compared to its counterpart, respectively.
