Vitamin B12 blood level in patients with myeloma (C90 - International Classification of Diseases (ICD-10)), lymphocytic leukemia (C91) and myeloblastic leukemia (C92) prior and after the diagnosis and also BCR-ABL (fusion gene from breakpoint cluster region BCR gene and tyrosine-protein kinase ABL1 (Abelson murine leukemia) gene) tests for C92 patients were studied. Clinical records of 20 C92 patients in Riga East University Hospital were complemented with 6987 B12 clinical test data accumulated in E Gulbis laboratory (EGL) for 7451 patients over 20 years period. BCR-ABL and B12 dynamics for 11 patients with sufficient number of BCRABL and B12 tests were studied. Oracle Cloud with pseudonymized data replica from more than 350 000 000 original EGL clinical test data was used. the data were selected by online analytical processing and SQL built in tools and then used in offline analysis and visualization. Annually there are 107, 189 and 91 confirmed cases of C90, C91 and C92 in Latvia. EGL has 30% more C90-92 patients, due to suspected but later unconfirmed cases. Out of 7451 patients 1386 had one B12 test, two- 548, three and more- 864. the patients with diagnosis fluctuating between C90, C91 and C92 were excluded from the study. the data for the time period of 10 years before and after the first diagnosis were analyzed. Results. Methods and tools for data extraction and analysis from large amount of archived clinical test data were developed and applied. High and very high B12 level was observed for 53% of C92 patients starting from 3 years prior to diagnosis. For C90 and C91 patients B12 level changes around the diagnosis date were also observed although the effect was considerably smaller. analysis of 11 selected patient data with clinical records showed timewise correlation between B12 and BCR-ABL for 3 of the patients. © 2023 Rezekne Higher Education Institution. thermal channel data collected with the Skylab S192 multispectral scanner was evaluated for a scene collected over the Death Valley, California area during January 1974. the data collection features of the scanner and the preprocessing of computer compatible precision data products are described. the thermal scene is evaluated for surface feature discrimination using three techniques: 1) false color image construction based on data statistics, 2) image density slicing based on a frequency histogram, and 3) quantitative and qualitative single-channel classification of predominant features in the scene. Procedures and results are discussed and sample test materials are presented. the results indicate that relative temperature values in small adjacent areas have potential importance in feature discrimination. the temperatures of nonadjacent features over a large scene have less immediate value due to the adiabatic effects of altitude and the effects of differential solar heating.

Time domain gating has been widely used in antenna measurements for many years. the technique has proven useful in gating out extraneous signals from the range that can be uniquely separated from the primary desired signal. the well known process involves collecting data in the frequency domain and then transforming the data to the time domain for processing. In far-field antenna measurements the technique is limited in its applicability by factors such as antenna bandwidth and pattern shape vs. frequency, and internal time delays within the device under test. Spherical near-field presents additional challenges to the effective use of time domain gating. these challenges of performing time domain gating in spherical near-field measurements are presented along with measured results from a small spherical near-field range. these results show the significant reduction in stray signals and the resulting increase in accuracy that can be achieved via time domain gating. Finally, the paper concludes with measurements made on a large spherical near-field arch over a ground plane system. Additional challenges of such a system will be highlighted.

System reliability is a fundamental requirement of cyber-physical systems. Unreliable systems can lead to disruption of service, financial cost and even loss of human life. Typical cyber-physical systems are designed to process large amounts of data, employ software as a system component, run online continuously and retain an operator-in-the-loop because of human judgment and accountability requirements for safety-critical systems. this paper describes a data-centric runtime monitoring system named ARIS (Autonomic Reliability Improvement System) for improving the reliability of these types of cyber-physical systems. ARIS employs automated online evaluation, working in parallel with the cyber-physical system to continuously conduct automated evaluation at multiple stages in the system workflow and provide real-time feedback for reliability improvement. this approach enables effective evaluation of data from cyber-physical systems. For example, abnormal input and output data can be detected and flagged through data quality analysis. As a result, alerts can be sent to the operator-in-the-loop, who can then take actions and make changes to the system based on these alerts in order to achieve minimal system downtime and higher system reliability. We have implemented ARIS in a large commercial building cyber-physical system in New York City, and our experiment has shown that it is effective and efficient in improving building system reliability.

MapReduce that attends data locality and fault tolerance is one of the most successful programming paradigms for data intensive and high-throughput applications. While many researches focus on the system performance of MapReduce, the application level performance optimization techniques are seldom discussed. In this paper, we present strategies to optimize the performance of Stochastic Singular Value Decomposition Collaborative Filtering (SSVD-CF) algorithm on MapReduce architectures. We applied the performance optimization techniques from scientific computing, including BLAS 3 matrix operations, Tall and Skinny QR (TSQR) decomposition, tiled algorithm, and distributed cache, to the SSVD-CF computation. Experiments showed although the MapReduce architecture is different from traditional high performance computing environments, those techniques can be still very effective. Near eight times speedup can be achieved for the most time consuming job, and more than five times speedup can be obtained for the entire program for large datasets.

Researches with explorations by space probes for asteroids have been performed actively to approach to the origin of the solar system and life. One of methods toward the goal is analyzing structure of solar system bodies by numerical simulation. GFandSlope is a code which calculates the gravitation field, slope, and attraction of given model data for small solar system bodies. When we use the existing sequential computation code, it is inevitable to take large time to analyze high resolution models with different initial conditions. this work achieved to compute several thousands faster than the previous by GPU implementation, which will also boost researches in the field of space science. this paper presents the evaluation of our GPU codes for fast gravitation field analysis and discusses numerical precision in floating point operations on the GPU for practical application.

When the lateral excitation is applied to the balance, the natural frequency of the mechanism tested by accelerometer and balance was more complex. It was not a signal frequency signal. the spectrum of the two channels that measure lateral forces was inconsistent, and the same result was obtained after repeated experiment. In this paper, the wavelet reconstruction technology is used to filter the high harmonic interference signal in the accelerometer measurement signal, and then the projection equation was used to compensate the lateral signal before the balance signal combination, so as to prevent the interference signal from being amplified in the balance channel combination. the results show that the positive, zero and the negative angles of attack have different compensation effects. the dispersion of compensation coefficient was small when the angle of attack was positive and zero, and the dispersion of compensation coefficient was large when the angle of attack was negative.

A Compiler and Runtime System for Enabling data Mining Applications on GPUs

With increasing need for accelerating data mining and scientific data analysis on large data sets, and less chance to improve processor performance by simply increasing clock frequencies, multicore architectures and accelerators like FPGAs and GPUs have become popular. A recent development in using GPU for general computing has been the release of CUDA (Compute Unified Device Architecture) by NVIDIA. CUDA allows GPU programming with C language-like features, thus easing the development of non-graphics applications on a GPU. However, several challenges still remain in programming the GPUs with CUDA, because CUDA involves explicit parallel programming and management of its complex memory hierarchy, as well as allocating device memory, moving data between CPU and device memory, and specification of thread grid configurations. In this paper, we offer a solution for the programmers to generate CUDA code by specifying the sequential reduction loop(s) with some information about the parameters. With program analysis and code generation, the applications are mapped to a GPU. Several additional optimizations are also performed by the middleware. We have evaluated our system using three popular data mining applications, k-means clustering, EM clustering, and Principal Component analysis (PCA). the speedup that each of these applications achieve over a sequential CPU version ranges between 20 and 50.

the design of a wide-band high-speed Sample and Hold (S&H) is presented herein. A new topology is proposed to address the stringent large bandwidth high-speed requirements of fast data transmissions. In a high-speed communication system, the fast operation of the analog to digital converter (ADC) is required, presenting a great challenge for the S&H design. the main contribution of the proposed design is to minimize the impact of the sampling frequency induced by the switch position. the designed S&H operates with a sampling frequency of 800MHz, an input signal of 80MHz, and a power consumption of 3.05mW. the circuit occupies an area of $0.0572mm^{2}$ in the $0.35\mu \mathrm{m}$ CMOS process.

this study used a large amount of autonomic nervous system data to investigate the relationship between autonomic nervous system and activity, day of the week, and region. data was measured via a heart rate variability analysis system that utilizes the camera of smartphones [8]. this system was developed by the authors during previous research. As for as the relationship between autonomic nervous system and activity, total power and sympathetic nervous activity were found to rise after waking, while during leisure time, it was found that total power rises and sympathetic nervous activity is inhibited. Concerning the relationship between autonomic nervous system and day of the week, it was found that total power decreases from the middle through the latter part of the week (namely, Wednesday, thursday, and Friday), while it rises on Saturday. What's more, sympathetic nervous activity is suppressed on Saturday. Regarding the relationship between autonomic nervous system and region, it was found that total power is lower in the Kanto region than in others. Regarding weather conditions, the results showed a trend in which a significant decrease was seen in sympathetic nervous activity the higher the temperature. In addition, a significant increase was seen in the sympathetic nervous system the higher the atmospheric pressure. Lastly, a significant decrease was seen in the sympathetic nervous system the more precipitation there was. these results accord with prior research and with human biological phenomena, and we were able to use big data to statistically demonstrate our hypothesis.
