Technical debt has gained considerable traction both in the industry and the academia due to its unique ability to distinguish asset management characteristics for problematic software project trade-offs. Management of technical debt relies on separate solutions identifying instances of technical debt, tracking the instances, and delivering information regarding the debt to relevant decision making processes. While there are several of these solutions available, due to the multiformity of software development, they are applicable only in predefined contexts that are often independent from one another. As technical debt management must consider all these aspects in unison, our work pursues connecting the software contexts via unlimited capturing and explanation of technical debt propagation intra- and inter-software-contexts. We mine software repositories (MSR) for data regarding the amount of work as a function of time. Concurrently, we gather information on events that are clearly external to the programmers' own work on these repositories. these data are then combined in an effort to statistically measure the impact of these events in the amount of work. With this data, as future work, we can apply taxonomies, code analysis, and other analyses to pinpoint these effects into different technical debt propagation channels. Abstraction of the channel patterns into rules is pursued so that development tools may automatically maintain technical debt information with them (the authors have introduced the DebtFlag tool for this). Hence, successfully implementing this study would allow further understanding and describing technical debt propagation at both the high level (longitudinal technical debt propagation effects for the project) and the low level (artifact level effects describing the mechanism of technical debt value accumulation).

Refactoring consists of improving the internal structure of the code without changing the external behavior of a software system. However, the task of refactoring is very costly in the development of an information system. thus, many tools have been proposed to support refactoring the source code. In order to find tools cited in the literature, this work presents a Systematic Literature Mapping about refactoring. As a result, this paper summarizes the refactoring tools that have been published in the last 5 years in terms of the tool profiles developed, which programming languages have support for refactoring and which are the main refactoring strategies that are handled by tools. It has been identified that publications on refactoring have remained constant over the past 5 years. Also, most of the refactoring works describe tools, being they for systems written in the Java language, that perform code refactoring automatically and the main refactorings are: Move Method, Pull Up Method, Extract Class and Code Clone. Finally, we performed an analysis of the data returned by the DBLP library. As a result, it was observed that the papers returned by the DBLP have a high level of similarity with the other research bases studied.

this thesis study is an evaluation tool that measures the user's Computational thinking (CT) according to its performance on Block-Based programming languages (BBPL) by using Machine Learning Techniques. the evaluation tool makes an evaluation for Machine Learning Model and each of the Computational thinking seven fields. Via this developed tool, the objective is to product an alternative to the limited evaluation tools on Block-Based programming languages. Literature research was brought out in two sides as Machine Learning and Block-Based programming languages. In the first stage, on Machine Learning, the data set and the methods used in educational field were researched. In the second stage, the devices which are used to measure the performance on Block- Based programming languages were analyzed. On literature, there are various sources for teaching Computational thinking,but it occurs that measuring instruments that evaluates Computational thinking are inadequate. To evaluate Computational thinking a machine learning model was trained. Trained model was turned into online evaluation tool by which both the tutors and the students evaluate Computational thinking easily. In the final stage, the developed online evaluation tool and the outcome was analyzed.

To harness the performance potential of current multicore processors, a multitude of algorithms, frameworks and libraries have been developed. Nevertheless, it is still extremely difficult to take advantage of the full potential of multicore processors. Moreover, in the presence of asymmetric sets of tasks, and/or when using third-party tools, this problem would only aggravate. In this paper, we present a software design and two algorithms to enable multilevel task parallelism exploitation on asymmetric sets of tasks and when using third-party tools. the proposed software design along with both algorithms allow, in a seamlessly way, the efficient exploitation of coarse-grained-inter-task-and fine-grained-intra-task-parallelism. thus, it becomes possible to make a better and transparent usage of the performance potential of current multicore processors on shared-memory systems. To assess the feasibility and the benefit of applying the proposed software design along with both algorithms, we used three irregular applications from Phylogenetics-real world problems-, and several input data sets with different characteristics. Our studies show groundbreaking results in terms of the achieved speedups and that scalability is not impaired.

Today, programing environment is too complexity to learn for programing beginners. Programing tools witch are languages, libraries, software and methods are improved. programming language is one of fundamental issues on software *** only knowledge such as grammar but also practical programming experiences are important to the learning of programming *** this paper,we classify programming exercises into the following two types: 1) syntax practices for understanding the grammar and 2) semantics practices for understanding the flow of a program,and then we develop a web-base application that automatically generates programming exercises by using templates and PHP *** also evaluate the effectiveness of the system composed of both our web-based system and an electronic materials for learning programming languages by several experiments,and find that the semantic practices require more time than the syntax practices to enhance the understanding of programming languages thoroughly.

Providing useful support for developers to understand the source code in maintenance tasks is a challenge. It is even more complicated when dealing with dynamically typed languages, because data types are not explicitly specified. In particular, the construction of call graphs (CGs) is compromised, and they are the basis to build code navigation tools, which are essential for code understanding. To address this problem, we present a technique that leverages automated test cases to build CGs. the technique uses both static and dynamic information and includes offline and online stages to guarantee performance while developers are coding. Our technique is evaluated with developers of a proprietary project, which shows that it increases the precision of CGs. © 2020 ACM.

the aim of static analysis is to develop principles, techniques and tools for validatingpropertiesofprograms,fordesigningsemantics-basedtransformations of programs and for obtaining high-performance implementations of high-level programming languages. Over the years the series of static analysis symposia has served as the primary venue for presentation and discussion of theoretical, practical and innovative advances in the area. this volume contains the papers accepted for presentation at the 14th Int- national Static Analysis symposium (SAS 2007). the meeting was held August, 22–24, 2007, at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) in Kongens L- gby, Denmark. In response to the call for papers, 85 submissions were received. Each submission was reviewed by at least 3 experts and, based on these reports, 26 papers were selected after a week of intense electronic discussion using the EasyChair conference system. Background. software engineering is one of the engineering fields with the highest inflow of junior engineers. tools that utilize source code analysis to provide feedback on internal software quality, i.e. Technical Debt (TD), are valuable to junior developers who can learn and improve their coding skills with minimal consultations with senior colleagues. Objective. We aim at understating which SonarQube TD items junior developers prioritize during the refactoring and how long they take to refactor them. Method. We designed a case study with replicated design and we conducted it with 185 junior developers in two countries, that developed 23 projects with different programming languages and architectures. Results. Junior developers focus homogeneously on different types of TD items. Moreover, they can refactor items in a fraction of the estimated time, never spending more than 50% of the time estimated by SonarQube. Conclusion. Junior Developers appreciate the usage of SonarQube and considered as a useful tool. Companies might ask junior developers to quickly clean their code. © 2020 IEEE Computer Society.
