Touch user interfaces offer a wide range of interaction and manipulation possibilities. However, when interacting withthis technology, the feedback is usually only provided via the visual or audio-visual channel of perception. therefore, the study investigates how electro-tactile feedback can support the interaction with touch interfaces. the aim is to use electro-tactile feedback to transmit information during an adjustment task on a touch interface. For this purpose, five different types of electro-tactile feedback were investigated in a user study with15 test persons. During the execution of a main task, a simple adjustment task had to be done in parallel on the electro-tactile touch interface. the electro-tactile feedback supports the execution of a main task and a secondary task, but the study also shows that by concentrating on the electro-tactile feedback the actuation time is extended.

In light of the pressing imperative for enhanced fire safety education within the Chinese context, this research delves into the intricacies of interface and interactiondesign for non-immersive Virtual Reality (VR) firefighting simulations anchored on computer platforms. Utilizing a bespoke VR prototype developed within the Unity environment, the study offers a systematic exploration of variables such as the spatial orientation of informational panels, luminance calibrations, and the dynamics of keyboard-mediated spray interactions. Empirical findings underscore a prevailing inclination among users towards luminous fire scenario visualizations, with a manifest predilection for the strategic alignment of task-centric panels to the left and ancillary hint panels to the right. interactionally, a sustained keypress modality for simulating spraying actions emerged as the favored paradigm. While the concealment functionality of panels garnered predominantly affirmative reception, the hover-induced display modality was met with notable reservation. the derived insights proffer pivotal heuristics for the optimization of interface design in VR-centric fire safety pedagogical tools, encapsulating prospects for enriched user engagement and augmented instructional efficacy.

Color Vision Deficiency (CVD) is a common visual impairment. research shows that CVD affects studying and life by facing difficulties in color distinction. However, it often relies on people having CVD to self-adjust or find alternative tools when resolving the problem or providing general color distinguishing support without considering the need for reading and learning in a specific subject. therefore, this research dives into using augmented reality(AR), particularly its synchronous integration feature, to develop color vision support in science learning and design a system to support CVD students in high school chemistry reading. this research first reviewed existing technological approaches to support color vision, and the national curriculum of chemistry in secondary education. An exemplary lesson plan withthe selected topic of the universal indicator was developed accordingly to test the AR color vision support with a texture-based approach. 8 high school students joined the user testing to assess the interface and flow of the prototype.
