Cloud and Fog computing are complementary technologies used for complex Internet of things (IoT) based deployment of applications. With an increase in the number of internetconnected devices, the volume of data generated and processed at higher speeds has increased substantially. Serving a large amount of data and workloads for predictive decisions in real-time using fog computing without Service-Level Objective (SLO) violation is a challenge. Integration of multiple cloud services and platforms with fog computing can resolve this issue by providing additional resources. In this work, we present a general-purpose System for Inference Request Management (SIRM) aimed at automatically generating a suitable execution workflow to execute ML/DL inference requests using fog with Function-as-a-Service (FaaS) and Machine Learning-as-a-service (MLaaS) offered by cloud vendors. Generated workflow minimizes the cost of deployment as well as SLO violations. the use of SIRM results in less than 5% violations when tested using health domain and recommender system based applications.

Side computing is a rising technique used for connected networks' allotted and cooperative media algorithms. Part computing refers to processing operations being carried out near the source of the facts, generally close to the edge of the network, in place in a centralized cloud. It allows information to be processed quickly, securely, and reliably in remote or low-connectivity locations, allowing dispensed computing operations inside connected networks. this distributed machine enables latency when working with significant facts sets and enhances security and reliability. Cooperating media algorithms, including laptop vision, audio processing, or natural language processing, are frequently optimized using aspect computing in related networks. the advantages of facet computing allow for progressed scalability, green helpful resource utilization, and better latency performance, mainly in areas that suffer from restrained or negative networking situations and bandwidth. Moreover, aspect computing enables enhanced privacy, protection, and personal revel when handling sensitive information and data stored within the cloud. © 2024 IEEE.

this paper examines the ability of advanced safety algorithms to permit at ease mobile computing. Using encryption in the transmission of information and application layer mechanisms are discussed with particular attention on relaxed authentication protocols. the capability of present day mobile device operating structures and platform architectures are explored to demonstrate how these algorithms can be integrated to shape relaxed cellular packages. the significance of modularization and distributed architecture is highlighted to increase the scalability and security of mobile applications, at the same time as similarly interest is paid to critical protection considerations along with the allowance of gadgets to authenticate and method statistics using substantial neighborhood cryptographic operations. the advantages of superior security algorithmic and of cozy cell packages are mentioned, such as ability packages inside e-trade, healthcare and government sectors. © 2024 IEEE.

the rise of the Internet of things (IoT) has led to an increased risk of cyber attacks on IoT devices, including botnet attacks. Botnets are networks of compromised devices that can be controlled remotely by cybercriminals to carry out malicious activities, such as distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks. the Mirai botnet is one of the most notorious botnets that have caused significant damage to IoT devices worldwide. To protect IoT devices from such attacks, intrusion detection systems (IDSs) are used to detect and mitigate attacks. However, the effectiveness of IDSs against botnet attacks is still a subject of debate, as botnets are becoming more sophisticated and difficult to detect. To address this issue, this research paper aims to analyse and compare the effectiveness of three widely used IDSs, namely Snort, Zeek, and Suricata, against the Mirai botnet. the study involves simulating Mirai botnet attacks in a controlled environment and evaluating the performance of each IDS in terms of detection and mitigation capabilities. the findings of this research can help organisations to select and implement effective IDSs to mitigate the impact of botnet attacks on IoT devices. By understanding the strengths and weaknesses of different IDSs, organisations can improve the security of their IoT devices and reduce the risk of cyber attacks. Overall, this research paper contributes to the existing literature on IDSs and their effectiveness against botnet attacks, highlighting the importance of selecting and implementing effective IDSs to protect IoT devices from cyber threats. © Grenze Scientific Society, 2024.

Although highly energy efficient, adiabatic and reversible systems suffer from performance drawbacks inherent to the physical operations that make them so efficient. Superscalar processors provide high performance through out-of-order speculative work of which an effective branch predictor is a key component in those performance gains. In the context of reversibility, a branch predictor is a design focal point because any fully reversible system must also be able to predict branch outcomes when in reverse mode. Taking advantage of Temporal Streaming techniques, this paper introduces several reversible branch predictor implementations which enable reversible and out-of-order instruction execution. these first-of-their-kind designs allow for a superscalar architecture that would maintain both a high level of performance and a high level of energy efficiency with the ability to un-compute obsolete data stored in memory. Testing our designs using the SimpleScalar out-of-order simulator, we estimate possible additional savings of 24 fJ per MB of data recovered at room temperature and at reverse prediction rates 2.27% higher than the forward. this work opens new avenues for designing and developing what we are calling Fully Adiabatic, Reversible, and Superscalar (FARS) Processor Architectures and is the first of many adaptations of conventional superscalar components to a reversible system.

With an emphasis on fulfilling deadlines, this study presents an efficient method for workload scheduling in edge-cloud collaborative computing settings. It optimizes task distribution taking into account variables like task arrival rate and resource availability. A genetic algorithm-based approach is suggested to improve the procedure of scheduling further. It makes use of task prioritization, mutation, and solution encoding. To achieve deadline fulfillment and resource optimization in edge-cloud collaborative computing systems, this method successfully tackles the problems of fluctuating user demands and resource constraints. It also provides an effective solution for dynamic task scheduling. © 2024 IEEE.

the rapid expansion of Large Language Models (LLMs) presents significant challenges in efficient deployment for inference tasks, primarily due to their substantial memory and computational resource requirements. Many enterprises possess a variety of computing resources-servers, VMs, PCs, laptops-that cannot individually host a complete LLM. Collectively, however, these resources may be adequate for even the most demanding LLMs. We introduce LLaMPS, a novel tool, designed to optimally distribute blocks 1 of LLMs across available computing resources within an enterprise. LLaMPS leverages the unused capacities of these machines, allowing for the decentralized hosting of LLMs. this tool enables users to contribute their machine's resources to a shared pool, facilitating others within the network to access and utilize these resources for inference tasks. At its core, LLaMPS employs a sophisticated distributed framework to allocate transformer blocks of LLMs across various servers. In cases where a model is pre-deployed, users can directly access inference results (GUI and API). Our tool has undergone extensive testing with several open-source LLMs, including BLOOM-560m, BLOOM-3b, BLOOM-7b1, Falcon40b, and LLaMA-70b. It is currently implemented in a real-world enterprise network setting, demonstrating its practical applicability and effectiveness.
