the main purpose of this paper is to present the evolution of the concentration for four main air pollutants in Craiova city, during twelve month (i.e., by any kind of weather). the selected period was between July 1st 2010 and June 30th 2011, and the pollutants submitted to the investigation were: nitrogen oxides NOx, sulfur dioxide SO2, carbon monoxide CO and suspended particulate matter, PM10. Within the paper, two purposes are achieved. the most important one is presenting the data about the evolution of the concentration of the four pollutants taken into study, graphics being used to show the situation of air quality in Craiova during the selected period. Another purpose was to find a statistical model to fit the recorded data for PM10, which is the log-normal distribution (the paper also presents some theoretical features of the model).

this paper addresses the challenging energy management problem of a DC-microgrid elevator system using a coherent combination between port-Hamiltonian approach for physical system modeling, differential flatness for profiles generation and predictive control for taking into account constraints, optimization costs and reference profiles. the microgrid connected to a three-phase utility grid includes a mechanical part, a Salient Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine (SPMSM), an energy storage unit, a super-capacitor, a solar panel (PV) generation unit as well as the corresponding converters to DC-links. We will concentrate here on the microgrid's mechanical part connected to the synchronous machine. More precisely, a constrained predictive control combined with differential flatness is employed for efficiently manage the dissipative energy. First, optimal profiles of both the stator currents and rotor speed are provided using flat trajectory generation. Next, a constrained Model Predictive control (MPC) optimization problem is formulated in order to satisfy the a priori given profiles. Comparison and simulation results validate the benefits of the proposed approach. © 2015 IEEE.

the paper presents details on the development of an intelligent system for particulate matter (PM) air pollution monitoring, analysis and forecasting in two pilot cities, Ploiesti and Targoviste, in selected areas near schools, kindergartens and pediatric hospitals. the main purpose of the system is to provide expert early warnings to protect children with health problems. An in-situ PM10, PM2.5 monitoring network was designed and an online PM2.5 monitoring network is under development for each city. Two case studies of PM air pollution analysis and forecast for the Ploiesti city are described. the PM air pollution analysis, forecasting, and children health impact analysis were made by using techniques from statistics and artificial intelligence. © 2015 IEEE.

the paper is concerned with control design via output feedback controller for fuzzy systems. Many results on the state feedback control design have been given in the literature. In the actual situation, however, the state of the system is rarely measured and the output feedback control design is desired. In this paper, guaranteed cost control via output feedback control for fuzzy systems is considered and a control design of stabilizing controllers with guaranteed cost is proposed. the stability analysis of the closed-loop system and controller design are given in terms of LMI conditions, which are less conservative than the existing results.

Parking a car is an important driving skill. However, many drivers do not like parking. therefore, a number of parking assist systems have been developed. When humans and computers perform control together, it is important to design cooperative control systems involving a human. the parking assistance method often used in the driving school in Japan is a cooperative assistance method. A good driving instructor not only prioritizes his/her own intention, but can perform flexible operation considering the driver's intention. In the present paper, a cooperative parking system based on fuzzy intention is proposed. this system provides a parking assistance method. this system conforms to a driver much as possible. Fuzzy intention is a set of temporary target candidates that express a good temporary target decided by the assistant. Using fuzzy intention, the breadth of candidates enables the driver's intention to be confirmed. the effectiveness of this system was verified experimentally.

In this paper, an walking pattern tuning system based on ZMP(Zero Moment Point) for a humanoid robot is proposed. Commonly, it is inevitable to handle the stage with proficient programming skill for realization of humanoid walking. the proposed walking pattern tuning system is a program tool to finely tune the walking pattern based on ZMP by adjusting intuitive parameters that ordinary user can understand easily. the walking pattern tuning system was applied to the humanoid robot of 110cm tall and the humanoid robot with the tuned walking pattern was tested.

the so-called lumped disturbance in this paper includes modelling error, external disturbance, unmodelled dynamics and parameter perturbations. As the plant model, polynomial fuzzy model is employed, because it is more general than the widely used T-S fuzzy model. In this paper, a new fuzzy disturbance observer (FDO) is proposed to handle the lumped disturbance, and the estimate of the disturbance is used directly to synthesize a part of controller along with the regular control input where such a disturbance is not considered. As a result, a set of the conditions in the manner of the sum of squares (SOS) for the asymptotical stability of the closed-loop system is provided.

In this paper, an approximation-based adaptive tracking control scheme is proposed for a class of stochastic nonlinear systems with a more general structure. Fuzzy logical systems are used to approximate unknown nonlinearities in the controller design procedure and the backstepping technique is utilized to construct a state-feedback adaptive controller. the proposed controller can guarantee that all the signals in the closed-loop system are fourth-moment semi-globally uniformly ultimately bounded and the tracking error eventually converges to a small neighborhood around the origin. Simulation results are used to show the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme.

this research aims at realizing a flying observation system which complements other information gathering systems using a balloon or an air vehicle. We have proposed the kite-based tethered flying robot with long-term activity capability[1]. this paper shows a computational model of the kite-based tethered flying robot and a method of learning fuzzy control parameters for the robot using human operation data.

this paper presents a design method for a phase lag adjustment system using neural oscillators for a snake-like robot. the neural oscillator or central pattern generator (CPG), one of biomimetic behavior control system has attract attentions as we can see the similar rhythmical system in the natural creatures like fish swimming, bird flapping, etc, and these behaviors are considered to be optimized to their working environments. We found that the neural oscillator group had the possibility to adjust the robot behavior into working environment by using physical feedback signals from the working environment. the neural oscillator network adjusts their phase lag between neural oscillators to adapt their motor torques and trajectory to the working environment. In this paper, we present an phase lag auto-adjustment system using neural oscillator and its application into motion control of a snake-like robot, and the efficiency is evaluated through simulations and experiments using a 8-links snake robot.
