the forced closure of cultural realities, dictated by the Coronavirus emergency, generated new needs for urgent solutions. Italy has heavily suffered as everything has been interrupted: exhibitions, trade fairs and museums, between more or less hard lockdowns and #iorestoacasa. From the spread of the virus, that thanks to vaccines sooner or later will begin to wane, to the spread of beauty that will help us revive the world. this is the path to follow and Italy a generator of beauty since ancient times, will have to be at the forefront of this mission. the reason is soon to be said. the aesthetic emotion brings man closer: the first sensation we experience in front of something beautiful - whatever it is - is that of not being alone. To encourage the meeting of beauty and people, many have done their utmost, let's think for example of the campaigns #museichiusimuseiaperti, #laculturanonsiferma, #MuseumFromHome, so well organized as to successfully substitute real life visits to museums and galleries, at least for the moment. thanks to digital technology that allows activities to be carried out in places of art and culture and the distribution of content by all the main cultural institutions through social media. For the first time, the doors of the web open wide and present to the public, through viewing rooms and virtual exhibition spaces, shows of all kinds. Broadening the horizon, the same choice is made by art galleries around the globe. Changing only the exhibition spaces, no longer physical but digital. thanks to immersive 3d technology, one can enjoy the sensations and atmospheres of traditional visits. therefore, the cultural mission of museums is not interrupted, rather it is strengthened and new projects are born exclusively for the web that follow the themes of the moment. the @Re-Art project fits into this scenario which aims to combine the dynamism of multimedia and digital means of communication (webinar, podcast, social network, virtual tour, and exhi

the advancement of drone services utilizing 5G technology has led to an increasing need for displaying high-resolution video and associated geometric information on web-based maps in real-time. Traditionally, Full Hd video and KLV metadata have been used to display video and geometric data in applications or web browsers. However, there is a growing demand for services that stream and process 4K or higher resolution videos in real-time, especially for AI-driven analysis. To effectively handle 4K video and geometric data via web browsers, advanced real-time video processing technologies such as Media Source Extensions are required, along with precise timestamping and synchronization of KLV metadata, and 3d map mapping techniques. Mismatched synchronization between video and geometric information can lead to difficulties in making accurate decisions in real-time applications such as search and rescue for missing persons or detection operations. To effectively address this issue, this paper presents a synchronization technique capable of aligning 4K video and KLV metadata collected from drones with a precision of within 10 frames. By utilizing this synchronization method, we successfully demonstrated the synchronized display of 4K video streams from four drones along with their flight waypoints on a Cesium 3d map within a single web browser. © 2024 IEEE.

Communities is a significant pattern of the web. A community is a group of pages related to a common topic. web communities are able to be characterized by dense bipartite subgraphs. Each community almost surely contains at least one core. A core is a complete bipartite graph (CBG). Focusing on the issues of extracting such community cores from the web, in this paper we propose an effective C & C algorithm based on combination and consolidation to extract all embedded cores in web graphs. Experiments on real and large data collections demonstrate that the proposed algorithm C & C is efficient and effective for the community core extraction because: 1) all the largest emerging cores can be identified;2) identifying all the embedded cores with different sizes only requires one-pass execution of C & C;3) the extraction process needs no user-determined parameters in C & C.

the World Wide web contains rich textual contents that are interconnected via complex hyperlinks. Most studies on web community extraction only focus on graph structures. Consequently, web communities are discovered purely in terms of explicit link information without considering textual properties of web pages. this paper proposes an improved algorithm based on Flake's method using the maximum flow algorithm. the improved algorithm considers the differences between edges in terms of importance, and assigns a well-designed capacity to each edge via the lexical similarity of web pages. Given a specific query, it also lends itself to a new and efficient ranking scheme for members in the extracted community. the experimental results indicate that our approach efficiently handles a variety of data sets across a novel optimization strategy of similarity computation.

the widespread use of mobile devices propels the development of new-fashioned video applications like 3d (3-dimensional) stereo video and mobile cloud game via web or App, exerting more pressure on current mobile access network. To address this challenge, we adopt the crowdsourcing paradigm to offer some incentive for guiding the movement of recruited crowdsourcing users and facilitate the optimization of the movement control decision. In this paper, based on a practical 4G (4th-Generation) network throughput measurement study, we formulate the movement control decision as a cost-constrained user recruitment optimization problem. Considering the intractable complexity of this problem, we focus first on a single crowdsourcing user case and propose a pseudo-polynomial time complexity optimal solution. then, we apply this solution to solve the more general problem of multiple users and propose a graph-partition-based algorithm. Extensive experiments show that our solutions can improve the efficiency of real-time d2d communication for mobile videos.

Social bookmarks are used to find web pages drawing much attention. However, tendency of pages to collect bookmarks is different by their topic. therefore, the number of bookmarks can be used to know attention intensity to pages but it cannot be used as the metric of the intensity itself. We define the relative quantity of social bookmarks (RQS) for measuring the attention intensity to a web page. the RQS is calculated using the number of social bookmarks of related pages. Related pages are found using similarity based on specificity of social tags. We define two types of specificity, local specificity, which is the specificity for a user, and global, which is the specificity common in a social bookmark service.

Many types of VR systems have been developed to provide spatial views and surround sound to express high levels of presence. Recently, high-definition TV and 5.1 ch surround sound systems have been made available for watching 3d movies at home. In the near future, more realistic display systems such as "Super Hi-Vision" will be developed and introduced into our homes. However, these types of visual or auditory display systems may require the allocation of a large space for fixed, specialized equipment, and they tend to be expensive. Moreover, compared to the amount of free contents on the web, highly realistic contents for such systems are still lacking. In this study, we propose a spatial audiovisual display system that comprises multiple mobile devices and a web-based design system, which allows average users to create and share spatial audio content on the web. © 2013 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.

Recently web services based on the HTTP and XML technology have become widely used, and application programs or mashups integrating such services have also proliferated. In order to support the integration process, we have developed a tool to convert user-defined function specifications written in XML to the corresponding user-defined functions loadable to PostgreSQL, an extensible relational database management system. With this conversion layer provided by the tool, multiple web services and relational databases can be integrated in SQL, and therefore, integrated applications or mashups can be built quickly without being bothered by variety of web service interfaces defining the calling sequences and result data types. Moreover, even if one of the web service providers that a particular mashup depends on changes its service specification, the application does not need to be modified accordingly, when the corresponding function's calling interface remains intact by changing the specification of the function body. this property which we refer to as web service independence is quite important since web service interfaces may change without any previous notices, and so some management methodology is needed for mashups.

In recent years Augmented Reality applications have become very popular for mobile devices. Anyway, creating an AR application has always been a difficult task, and a deep knowledge on the topic was required. Authoring tools have tried to simplify the problem providing a visual interface for creating applications. the interface for examination of Ming-Jen at al. [Wang et al. 2010] and the work of Jesus Gimeno et al. [J. Gimeno 2010] are some examples. despite the simple and attractive tool that web3d represents for visualization, to the best of our knowledge there are no references to any solution that combines an AR authoring tool for mobiles with a web3d interface.
