the net of things (IoT) has quick grow to be the backbone of many corporations, taking into account real-time statistics collection and automatic tasks. However, the connectivity of these IoT-enabled networks can become without difficulty congested when huge amounts of data are generated in a brief time frame. To be able to hold a high stage of overall performance, big facts analytics can be used to research the massive volumes of generated statistics, provide insights and locate anomalies to improve community connectivity. Massive statistics analytics will permit higher records processing and evaluation competencies, become aware of regions of improvement and optimize network operations. Additionally, predictive analytics techniques can be used to forecast upcoming community congestion and take movement that could enhance network performance in real time. this, but, requires green facts collection, garage and control gear to ensure that the big records analytics answer is effective and efficient. this paper investigates how massive records analytics may be used to improve the connectivity of IoT-enabled networks through leveraging the energy of predictive analytics.

Online learning algorithms adjust the synaptic weights when the neurons fire spikes during the learning process of spiking neural networks, which are shown to be more suitable and effective for processing spatio-temporal information in the real world. this paper presents an online spike pattern supervised learning algorithm for spiking neural networks based on local variable driven STDP (LVDSTDP), which combines low-pass filtering of spike trains fired by pre- and postsynaptic neurons to adjust synaptic weights in real time. the LVDSTDP algorithm has been successfully applied to spike trains learning tasks, and the effects of synaptic parameters are analyzed in detail. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can effectively adjust the synaptic weights to improve learning performance. this demonstrates effective for solving complex pattern learning problems using the LVDSTDP rule, and many further optimizations are possible. We also applied the proposed method in training SNNs, and obtained comparably high recognition accuracies on the MNIST datasets.

the Cloud already represents an important part of the global energy consumption, and this consumption keeps increasing. Many solutions have been investigated to increase its energy efficiency and to reduce its environmental impact. However, with the introduction of new requirements, notably in terms of latency, an architecture complementary to the Cloud is emerging: the Fog. the Fog computing paradigm represents a distributed architecture closer to the end-user. Its necessity and feasibility keep being demonstrated in recent works. However, its impact on energy consumption is often neglected and the integration of renewable energy has not been considered yet. the goal of this work is to exhibit an energy-efficient Fog architecture considering the integration of renewable energy. We explore three resource allocation algorithms and three consolidation policies. Our simulation results, based on real traces, show that the intrinsic low computing capability of the nodes in a Fog context makes it harder to exploit renewable energy. In addition, the share of the consumption from the communication network between the computing resources increases in this context, and the communication devices are even harder to power through renewable sources.

Artificial Intelligence has emerged as a transformative technology, revolutionizing numerous industries by enabling advanced automation, predictive analytics, and decision-making capabilities. For that Artificial Intelligence overruns many domains like telecommunication, smart manufacturing industry, autonomous machines, Automated Disease Diagnosis in Medical Imaging, defense, and others. On the other hand, the hardware implementation of Artificial Intelligence comes with certain challenges and constraints, especially in a critical area, which leverages machine learning algorithms and real-time data analysis to optimize production processes and improve overall efficiency. Statistical operations play a crucial role in various machine learning algorithms to understand, process data, or make predictions to optimize models. So, in this work, we developed a high-speed and low-area design and implemented statistical operations for image or signal processing using an FPGA Device. To enhance the performance, we develop different hardware architectures based on different levels of parallelism to process the statistical operations to compute the Mean, Variance, and RMS (Root Mean Square). these generic architectures work in parallel/pipeline architectures with and without memory. the proposed architectures implement an FPGA target (Intel/Altera Agilex 7: AGMH039R47A2E1V) using Altera Quartus prime pro edition version 23.4 and achieve an ultra-high throughput with low-area consumption compared to the state-of-art methods. For 480×640 image size, the mean calculation architecture involves 1498 logic registers, 1912 slice LUT, and just 29kbits memory and it operates at a maximum frequency of 406.5MHz. Additionally, for an 8×8 image size, we need 33 clock cycles to achieve the mean calculation and 33+1 clock cycles to complete the variance calculation, compared to other approaches that require more than 64 clock cycles.

the accuracy of water conservation assessments is crucial for formulating water resource management and ecological protection policies. However, existing methods overly rely on expert judgment and struggle with precision when handling high-dimensional data. To address this, we propose a deep autoencoder-based method for evaluating water conservation functions. For the Gannan water conservation area, we developed a comprehensive evaluation index system and integrated multisource data to create an ecological dataset. By employing a deep autoencoder model combined with convolutional neural networks and a joint training strategy, we achieved feature extraction and dimensionality reduction, mapping high-dimensional data to a low-dimensional latent space. Subsequently, we used the K-means clustering algorithm to validate the model’s classification performance. the clustering accuracy and FMI based on AE-CNN extracted latent variables were significantly higher than those obtained by clustering the raw data directly. this demonstrates that the model effectively extracts data features and significantly enhances classification accuracy, providing robust support for ecological protection and water management.

Machine learning (ML) techniques have seen increasing use in recent years in complementing traditional HPC solutions to physical systems problems. While the scientific community has been rapidly adopting such techniques, it is still unclear how different ML techniques compare in terms of accuracy. In this paper we address this question by designing and training a neural network and comparing its performance to traditional classification models using as a case study a non-interacting quantum system on a graph structure. We build a classifier with the ability to distinguish extended from localized quantum states based on their different structure and compare it with other commonly used ML classifiers. Our results show high accuracy for certain ML models in most cases, whereas others are less effective. © 2021, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Data compression is an important factor of excessive-pace network communications, as it may lessen the number of facts that need to be transmitted over a given network. Facts compression techniques search to lessen the scale of data via encoding it in a more green format. Common compression techniques utilized in networks consist of static Huffman encoding, variable period encoding, arithmetic encoding, differential coding, run-period encoding, and compression with a chance distribution. Every approach has its personal deserves and boundaries, so the selection of a compression technique is dependent on the type of information and the network situations. Additionally, some of these techniques carry out better while implemented in aggregate with one another, offering a usual development in network throughput.

Multi-body photograph restoration is a key application of state-of-the-art image processing. With the improvement of cutting-edge convolutional neural networks (CNNs), it has come to be modern-day viable to repair photos with improved denoising performance. CNNs allow the present-day modern-day complicated non-linear features with high accuracy and fast inference. A CNN-based totally multi-body image healing (MFIR) technique is proposed that is able to seize the spatial correlations between noise and texture in multi-body snapshots. Experiments on benchmark datasets show that our technique achieves overall performance, demonstrating the effectiveness of modern-day CNNs in this challenge. Our approach is powerful to extraordinary multi-frame noise levels and works higher than CNNs with the best unmarried-body entry. Additionally, our proposed technique will be extended to different picture healing responsibilities with diverse today’s corpora.

IoT technology is one of the most prevalent technologies today, but modern IoT security solutions are increasingly becoming obsolete. As the demand for advanced security measures grows, there is a significant emphasis on enhancing IoT security to address contemporary challenges. In order to meet these modern IoT needs, this paper introduces SSIoT, a new approach to lightweight and secure self-sovereign identity-enabled decentralized authentication for IoT devices. SSIoT integrates secret sharing schemes with blockchain technology to deliver transparent and reliable SSI-based digital identity management while minimizing storage and computational overhead. By storing IoT identity credentials externally, SSIoT protects the device’s identity credentials against tampering or misuse. the effectiveness of this model is validated through evaluations and discussions, which simulate costs and estimate verification times on actual IoT devices.

Local Positioning Systems are an active topic of research in the field of autonomous navigation. Its application in difficult complex scenarios has meant a solution to provide stability and accuracy for high-demanded applications. In this paper, we propose a methodology to enhance Local Positioning Systems performance in sensor failure contexts. this fact guarantees system availability in adverse conditions. For this purpose, we apply a Genetic Algorithm Optimization in a five-sensor 3D TDOA architecture in order to optimize the sensor deployment in nominal and adverse operating conditions. We look for a trade-off between accuracy and algorithm convergence in the position determination in four (failure conditions) and five sensor distributions. Results show that the optimization with failure consideration outperforms the non-failure optimization in a 47% in accuracy and triples the convergence radius size in failure conditions, with a penalty of only 6% in accuracy during normal performance. © 2021, the Editor(s) (if applicable) and the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
