In the age of information overload and digitalization, recommender systems (RSs) have become increasingly important for informed decision-making and service utilization. Session-based recommender systems (SBRSs) have emerged as a new type of RS in recent years. Unlike traditional RSs like content-based RSs and collaborative filtering-based RSs, which focus on static, long-term user preferences, SBRSs aim to capture dynamic, short-term user preferences to provide timely and accurate recommendations that adapt to evolving user contexts. this research propose novel generative model that capture the patterns among the user's choices and generate the items for the given session. We observed that pattern recognition algorithms only capture past user choices or the choices of similar users. To address this limitation, we propose a non-deterministic predictive model that balances exploration and exploitation.

the coordinated parallel driving of autonomous vehicles in formation not only optimizes road space utilization but also enhances road efficiency, contributing to the reduction of traffic congestion. Hence, it is necessary to impose diverse constraints on the vehicle to ensure its adherence to the intended trajectory. the constraints of mechanical systems are generally categorized into equality constraints and inequality constraints. this paper adopts a constraint-following methodology by leveraging the generalized Udwadia-Kalaba equation to design the self-driving vehicle formation system, considering both equality and inequality constraints within the system. Security systems are widely employed in various facilities, such as companies and schools, to prevent crime. However, as the monitored area increases, it becomes challenging for operators to track numerous targets effectively due to limited resources. To address this issue, we propose an agent-based human tracking system. When utilizing image processing for person detection, the inherent inaccuracies in image processing make it challenging to accurately track the target. this often results in detection errors and tracking failures. therefore, we propose the calculation of the existence probability. the existence probability can be calculated by combining the traveling pattern of the targets withthe result of image processing. Cognitive radios (CR) are viewed as a promising solution to deliver spectrum-efficient communication for emerging communication systems like IoT and others. this article evaluates the detection performance of CR over the alpha - eta - F fading channel. the alpha - eta - F fading channel is a versatile fading model used to characterize channel non-linearity and shadowing effects simultaneously. Hence a concurrence of both channel non linearity and shadowing on CR detection performance has been investigated. Utilizing energy detection-based spectrum sensing, novel analytical expressions for the average probability of detection for a single user and cooperative detection are obtained. Furthermore, expression for area under the receiver operating characteristics is also obtained to get a better insight into detection characteristics. the obtained analytical expressions are used to investigate CR detection performance over different non linearity and shadowing effects, and results show a degraded performance with increasing channel impairments. In the end, Monte Carlo simulations are used to validate the accuracy of obtained analytical expressions.

Real-time map construction and localization can be identified as one of the principal factors that should be considered when developing autonomous robots. Localization aims to calculate the robot's position relative to the landmarks and thus the landmarks play a crucial role in the localization process. In this paper, a novel system was developed to assess the localization accuracy based on landmark configuration. the system was found to be effective in analyzing the localization accuracy. the investigation revealed that the asymmetric configuration of landmarks in a workspace is more suitable to obtain accurate position estimations while the symmetric nature is more prone to errors.

One of the areas is the automation system that is being applied to our spaces. this study uses the Kalman filtering and Gaussian Mixture Model (GMM) algorithm for the motion detection of the system connected to the main controller, which is the Arduino UNO, wherein the electric load state and time of the day will be programmed. the researchers tested the system in a room, measuring the accuracy of the motion algorithm, the time set for the scheduling feature, and the energy consumed with and without the prototype. In summary, the automated system of the study withthe MATLAB algorithm, Kalman filtering, and GMM with time scheduling through Arduino can indeed be a cost-effective, energy-saving, and helpful tool that can apply to office spaces.

Due to ever-increasing global trade activities and enhanced facilitation in the tourism market, cross-country traveling has seen a massive boost. this has resulted in crowded airports, posing challenges for aviation staff to screen the threat items from passenger baggage. Manual screening of baggage is cumbersome, tiring, and error-prone given the long working hours of the staff combined with concealing strategies incorporated by smugglers to deceive the security system. this has enhanced the requirement of autonomous and robust screening systems at security checkpoints. Researchers have been working rigorously to develop computer vision-basedthreat screening systems using different techniques. Recently, transformer-based techniques have been utilized in different classification and localization problems. these algorithms are more effective than traditional machine learning and CNN-based approaches, reducing the errors posed by region-based approaches. In this research, a vision transformer-based cross-domain classification algorithm is introduced for screening baggage threats. the framework uses Vision Transformers architecture and is primarily trained on COMPASS-XP dataset where it outperforms all the previous classification algorithms with an accuracy of 98% and F1-score of 99%. Furthermore, the model showcases the capability of screening threat items from novel datasets by employing small subsets of the corresponding data. Consequently, it exhibits adaptability towards novel image types and is ideal for situations where data scarcity forms the reason for low accuracy.
