We present an automated implemented and computationally efficient method for smoothly morphing of point set surface. In the issue, corresponding between the surfaces is difficult for point set surface without any topological information. To overcome this, the method is guided by registration and warp functions, then the intermediate surfaces are constructed depend on only the local geometric information expressed by the point locations in 3D space. To reduce the distortion of the intermediate shapes, the distance metric between points is defined, and the algorithm optimally matches the points in the two models. the automated method provides the animator with a technique that can be used to create a set of models forming a smooth transition between pairs of a given sequence of keyframe models. the advantage of the new approach is that the capability of morphing between objects having a different topological without any intervene of animators.

A large display system usually consists of many projectors, whose projections are merged together to form a large screen. In this paper, we discuss technologies to join multiple projections into a large display system for multimedia entertainment and virtual reality applications. In contrast to using expensive hardware-based seamlessly merging modules, we adopt a software-based seamlessly merging solution, which is used to calibrate the color brightness and the geometry in superposed regions. And in order to enlarging its application, we adapt technology to several kinds of screens (plane screen and camber screen). We use PC cluster with accelerated graphics cards to lower rendering costs. Our software merge system can run on a variety of large display platforms. the experiment shows our system obtain the satisfying results. It can seamlessly play videos with different encoding formats, such as avi, wmv, rm etc, and can seamlessly render 3D scenes in real time.

It is the primary step of "digital city" to construct three-dimensional digital map. We consider that it constructed by computer vision based on the image microminiature aircraft collected. But the characteristic point's quantity cannot meet the requirement of construct digital elevation model. this paper provides a latest correlative matching method based on epipolar constrain after introduce the characteristic point extract and matching. Also it adopted a precise fundamental matrix estimate algorithm to calculate epipolar equation and increase the matching point. this algorithm performs very well in terms of robustness to outliers and noises. It improves the precision effectively. It also gives the experimental evidence of this algorithm's effect and its speed meets the real time's request.

this paper presents an action selection mechanism, for virtual flocking animals, inspired by ethology and theories of emotion. We investigate how emotions, in this case fear, affect behaviour, considering deer and sheep as exemplary flocking mammals. the paper also describes and applies a mechanism to measure different types of flocking, using singular values and entropy to compute complexity. Results show that emotion can be used to regulate two competing and vital behaviours like those seen in herding animals: the group behaviour (herding) and the individual behaviour (grazing), thus demonstrating that emotion is a functional organiser of group behaviour

Based on analyzing the color rendering principle of scanning objects and the causes of color error, a new algorithm of color space conversion for scanning image is proposed. First, some parameters of Neugebauer equation and Yule-Nielson equation are reinterpreted which makes them able to be used for non-dot image and which can only be used for dot image originally. then, the paper presents the deduction procedures of the color correction equation. Finally the experimental results show that the algorithm may result in more accurate approximation compared with some typical and mainstreams.

this paper proposes a general approach of 3D reconstruction, a major problem arising in computer vision and virtual reality, based on a combination of Pseudo-Linearization and Errors-in-Variables model. the proposed approach concerns a bunch of corrupted measurements under nonlinear constraints, and optimizes the estimation by taking errors into account. Furthermore, we set a synthetic projective model and adopt a standard deviation-expectation criterion to evaluate the performance or our method applied in 3D reconstruction. Also, some test images are picked from an image database to give this method a chance to demonstrate its performance in our experiments. Finally, as a successful application, this method is used in a calibration-free augmented reality system.

this paper analyses the importance of establishing a three-dimensional cybermarketing system and the method how to establish the virtual environment using Web3D and JSR-184. And this paper also reports some issues involved in the construction of the system. User can take a virtual tour of the gymnasium, browse the correlative products which are three-dimensional and buy tickets freely. the match sponsors can show its products and strengthen their selling. this paper also accomplishes the improved display technology and devises a special collision detection algorithm.

In this paper, we describe a rendering system that is capable of capturing and rendering dynamic environments at about 20 fps using a commercially available PC (1.8 GHz single processor) and IEEE 1394 cameras (each with resolution of 320times240). It does not rely on any additional custom hardware. Such a system permits streaming applications that involve real-time view synthesis from multiple cameras, such as 3D teleconferencing or chatting. View synthesis is performed using the closest two cameras, and relies on plane sweeping to produce a photoconsistent virtual image. In addition, an alpha matte is estimated at the virtual view in order to improve the rendering quality at the foreground/background boundaries. We illustrate the performance of our system on several dynamic environment examples.

Stereo matching is one of the classic difficult problems in the computer vision, and its complexity and precision hedge the capability of vision system to reconstruct the 3-D scene. this paper presents a new matching method based on neural network. On the condition that stereo rectification has been performed, the energy function is built on the basis of uniqueness, compatibility and similarity constraints, which reflects the constraint relations of all matching units of the same lines. It is then mapped onto a 2-D neural network for minimization, whose final stable state indicates the possible correspondence of the matching units. the depth map can be acquired through performing the above operation on the all epipolar lines. the algorithm has two traits relative to the traditional approach. Firstly, individual pixel point but not scene point or edge line is adopted as matching unit and dense depth map could be obtained directly. Secondly, the external input of the nodes is not constant again and is the function of gray similarity of correspondent points. the experiments on the synthetic and real images demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed approach..

Recovering the 3D structure and motion of nonrigid object from a monocular image sequence is an important and difficult task in computer vision. Many previous methods on this problem utilize the extension technique of SVD factorization based on rank constraint to the tracking matrix. In this paper, we propose a constrained power factorization (CPF) algorithm that combines the orthonormal constraint and the replicated block structure of the motion matrix directly into the iterations. the proposed algorithm overcomes the limitations of previous SVD based methods. It is easy to implement and can even cope with the tracking matrix with missing data. Based on the solutions of the CPF, a novel sequential factorization technique is proposed to recover the shape and motion of new frames in realtime. Extensive experiments on synthetic data and real sequences validate the effectiveness of the algorithm and show noticeable improvements over the previous methods.
