the newly developed control methodology, which omits the phase-locked loop (PLL) and voltage sensor, has garnered considerable attention for its rapid dynamic response and reduced hardware expenses. Nonetheless, its stability concerns have not yet been thoroughly scrutinized. In this paper, the impedance modeling of the PLL-less and voltage sensorless control strategy has been established. the impedance model has been contrasted with the traditional PLL-based control scheme. Our findings demonstrate that the PLL-less and voltage sensorless control approach lacks the negative resistance behavior that is frequently observed in the traditional scheme, which results in unstable operations. Moreover, the role of virtual resistance has been examined. To substantiate the aforementioned findings, simulation results are presented.

In this work, we investigate the effect of SiON manufacturing processes on TDDB behaviors for n-MOSFETs. the devices with the ultrathin SiON film fabricated by the novel low-temperature and low-pressure mild oxidation after the plasma solidification (LLMOPS) method have a lower defect generation rate and longer breakdown time than the traditional process. the kinetic Monte Carlo simulation framework is used to model TDDB behavior accurately, and it is proved that the improvement of TDDB is due to the reduction of interface states. thus, LLMOPS technology provides a guiding principle for improving the TDDB characteristics of MOSFETs in mass production.

Hybrid systems are dynamical systems of both continuous and discrete nature and constitute an important field of control systems theory and engineering. On the other hand, intelligent data processing has become one of the most critical devices of modern computer based systems as these systems operate in environments featuring increasing uncertainty and unpredictability. While these two approaches set completely different objectives, modern cyber-physical systems, taken as variants of hybrid systems, seem to constitute a field of increasing interest for applying intelligent techniques. Moreover, the examples of, not so recent, intelligent control systems are suggestive for considering a study on getting intelligent techniques close to hybrid systems. In this paper we present the experimental investigation we undertook in this direction. More specifically, we present and discuss the experiments carried out using Acumen a hybrid systems modeling and simulation environment. Without urging towards setting and solving questions of conceptual order we tried to figure out whether it is possible to represent intelligent behavior using a tool for modeling dynamical systems focusing on the study of its ability to permit the representation of both continuous and discrete intelligent techniques, namely, Reinforcement Learning and Hopfield neural networks. the results obtained are indicative of the problems related to the specific computational context and are useful in deriving conclusions concerning the functionality that needs to be provided by such modeling and simulation environments, in order to allow for the coexistence of hybrid systems and intelligent techniques.

In this paper the testing environment for the artificial intelligence system that operates the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is considered. the approach given in this paper covers developing part of the computer software that will reflect the structure and functional behavior of the UAV. this software implements simulation modeling of processes that occur on different UAV’s subsystems. To implement this kind of software that will model UAV’s actions in real-world environment and time, the hybrid dynamic models will be used. these models will consist of probability component such as weather conditions, availability of cellular data or any other kind of connection, so they could be called stochastic. the main point of this research is to develop a visual, mathematical and analytical representation of the processes that take place in artificial intelligence system.

Intelligent traffic signal control is a critical solution for optimizing urban transportation networks by reducing congestion and enhancing traffic flow efficiency. this study introduces a deep reinforcement learning (DRL) framework integrated with probabilistic graph models (PGMs) to address the challenges of adaptability and interpretability in traffic management. the PGMs enable a structured representation of complex dependencies within traffic systems, allowing for interpretable insights into dynamic traffic conditions. the proposed model is trained and validated in the SUMO simulation environment, accurately reflecting real-world traffic scenarios. Results demonstrate substantial improvements in throughput, reduced travel times, and minimized intersection delays compared to traditional control methods. the integration of PGMs with DRL not only enhances decision-making processes but also improves scalability and robustness in real-time applications. this innovative approach lays a solid foundation for implementing adaptive and intelligent traffic management systems, paving the way for smarter urban infrastructures capable of handling evolving transportation demands.

Assembly quality as a key indicator of the performance of complex products requires the development of a predictive product model that integrates part and process information. Furthermore, deriving a high-quality assembly model is important for accurate assembly modeling and simulation. At present, assembly modeling mainly considers the geometric errors of the parts induced by manufacturing processes, and ignores a number of parameters in the real environment, which leads to inconsistencies when assembling the parts, and difficulties in meeting the performance requirements of high-precision products. therefore, to further improve the accuracy of assembly simulation, digital technologies are extensively used to reproduce the assembly process of complex products digitally and guide the actual production and assembly of parts. In this paper, by collecting and processing real data of complex products, a hierarchical model of a complex assembly including geometric shape, position constraint and physical state is constructed, and the corresponding reverse engineering model is built. Digital twins are thereafter constructed and mapped to the real parts. Based on this, real-time data of the resource layer, the process layer and the environment layer in the assembly process are integrated, and a digital representation of complex assembly is proposed. A case study of a bearing seat highlights the applicability of the proposed approach. the data collected from the scanned bearing seat integrates the constraint information of the assembly features and the bearing seat's physical information to construct a digital twin of the bearing seat. © 2022 Elsevier B.V.. ISO standards on geometrical product specifications and verification (GPS) categorize the geometrical features partitioned from shapes based on their kinematic invariance classes. As a key issue to achieve predictable and interchangeable shape, geometrical tolerancing defines the tolerance zone within which the partitioned features shall be contained for dimensional and geometrical accuracy. However, most of the current research activities consider the geometrical features as orientation and position deviations of substitute ideal surfaces and neglect form errors within the developed models. In order to enhance the tolerance analysis and simulation, the concept of Skin Model Shapes (SMS) is therefore proposed to represent surface deviations in accordance with random nature of geometric deviations. In this paper, a new approach based on spectral analysis is proposed for SMS generation on mechanical parts. the Eigen-system of Laplace-Beltrami Operator (LBO) enables shape analysis with an unambiguous mathematical language due to its invariance of the position and orientation. the SMS generation process is completed with LBO by developing a modeling methodology for geometric deviation representation and generation on single surfaces in the design process. the obtained spatial frequency LBO decomposition on the single surface of invariant class is used to represent the statistical characteristics of the deviations and further used to reproduce deviations with similar distributions. A comparison is presented in the paper to illustrate the difference between a conventional Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) based method and the proposed LBO-based method. Another case study is investigated to explain the implementation of the proposed method on different types of single surfaces of invariant class generation based on SMS. © 2022 Elsevier B.V.. Detailed impact simulations in flexible multibody systems are usually based on isoparametric finite element models. For modeling the dynamics of an impact, a precise representation of the geometry is essential. However, isoparametric finite elements involve the discretization of the geometry. this work tests the isogeometric analysis (IGA) as an alternative approach in flexible multibody systems. the IGA enables the exact representation of the geometry by using non-uniform rational basis splines (NURBS) as element shape functions. In the context of an efficient impact simulation a model reduction and a possible inclusion of the floating frame of reference formulation is beneficial. the degrees of freedom of the flexible bodies are reduced using component mode synthesis to save computation time in the multibody simulation. For the precise description of deformations and stresses in the contact area as well as elastodynamic effects, a large number of global shape functions is required. As testing examples, the impact of two elastic spheres and a multibody multicontact problem including wave propagation in a long elastic rod are simulated and compared to reference solutions.

Digital transformation involves the use of breaking technologies that increase the knowledge of a physical system. One of these technologies is the Digital Twin, which is a realistic virtual representation that reflects the current conditions of a physical system process that allows advanced and more detailed analysis towards improving system performance and smartness. this paper uses a novel framework for developing Digital Twin applications, which is applied to the velocity and position control problem. the framework involves the steps of target system definition, system documentation, multidomain simulation, Digital Twin assembly and behavioral matching and validation and deployment. Obtained results show how Digital Twin enables new capabilities that can be explored towards smart control engineering.
