One of the most important features for any intelligent ground vehicle is based on how is reliable and complete the perception of the environment and the capability to discriminate what an obstacle is. Obstacle Detection (OD) is one of the most widely discussed topics in literature. Many approaches have been presented for different application fields and scenarios;in last years most of them have been revisited using stereo vision or 2D/3D sensor technologies. In this paper we present a brief survey about Obstacle Detection techniques based on stereo vision for intelligent ground vehicles, describing and comparing the most interesting approaches. In order to provide a generic overview of these techniques, it has been decided to focus the study only on the algorithms that have provided a major contribution through real-time experiments in unsupervised scenarios.

the genetic algorithm is a kind of evolutionary algorithms, which is widely used to solve optimization problems. It still faces the challenge of computing efficiency when dealing with large-scale optimization problems, which motivates the research on parallel genetic algorithm (PGA) to accelerate it. Sunway TaihuLight system is the first supercomputer with a peak performance of over 125 PFlops, which is powered by SW26010 heterogeneous many-core processors. Among the common PGA models, the hierarchical model fits the SW26010 best due to its heterogeneity. In this paper, we propose a heterogeneous parallel genetic algorithm (swGA) on Sunway TaihuLight system, which implements process-level and thread-level parallelism. In the process-level parallelism, we propose an island model based on a migration pool, which preserves the elitists and provides the globally stochastic individuals to be immigrated for islands. In addition, an interleaving emigration scheme and a dynamic immigration scheme are proposed to reduce the communication overhead of migration. In the thread-level parallelism, we propose the island/master-slave, island/cellular, and island/island models based on the unique mechanisms of SW26010. We optimize these models by using some optimization methods such as direct memory access, register-level communication, double buffering, vectorization. the experimental results show that the island model of swGA has a better search ability compared with a directed migration based island model and a serial GA. Based on the island model, the three hierarchical models all have satisfied search ability and acceleration effect. Among them, the island/island model has the best search ability, and the island/cellular model has the best acceleration effect, which achieves a speedup up to 3603.13× on 64 CGs. © 2019 IEEE.

Historically, matching problems (including process matching, schema matching, and entity resolution) were considered semiautomated tasks in which correspondences are generated by matching algorithms and subsequently validated by human expert (s). the role of humans as validators is diminishing, in part due to the amount and size of matching tasks. Our vision for the changing role of humans in matching is divided into two main approaches, namely Humans Out and Humans In. the former questions the inherent need for humans in the matching loop, while the latter focuses on overcoming human cognitive biases via algorithmic assistance. Above all, we observe that matching requires unconventional thinking demonstrated by advanced machine learning methods to complement (and possibly take over) the role of humans in matching.

Over the past few decade, smartphone technology has played a vital role in the healthcare domain. In this paper, we proposed a methodology to allow end users to automatically process the medical text image using a camera or enter text manually. then the system output allows to extract medical concepts, its semantic type and entity type from medical text apply Natural processing Language techniques from UMLS medical dictionary. the medical text can be a health report, a clinical case, or other kinds of a text containing medically related information. the aim of this kind of methodology of the mobile application is to contribute in the area of natural language processing (NLP), intelligent system and to increase the medical students and bioinformatics researchers interest to quickly accessing information about medical data. © 2019 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

the computation speed offered by nowadays embedded systems allows combining advanced signal processing and data acquisition in dedicated architectures optimized for given applications. Such architectures can be used for 2D/3D signal analysis and reconstruction in such broad areas as: medical signal processing - tomography object reconstruction (USG, PET, CT, OCT, etc.), biomedical image analysis - automated object segmentation and diagnostic support, biometry - pattern recognition, etc. the technological advances in the scale of integration of integrated circuits as well as image acquisition and processing systems have played a major part in this trend. In particular, for medical image analysis common problems are content segmentation, analysis of selected objects, pattern estimation and storage. In the paper general architecture for advanced image processing is presented which can be adapted to specific needs, depending on intended use. this article describes a system for analysis of biometric data developed as part of the work conducted by the authors on the complete biometric identification system. thus, the article focuses mostly on the biometrical iris identification system (1:N), chosen as an example well suited to the validation of the developed system. Several issues concerning efficient data processing using Field Programmable Arrays and Digital Signal Processors are presented on the basis of the described architecture. algorithms computed on a desktop computer were adapted to this specialized, hardware-oriented architecture composed of Digital Signal Processors (DSPs) and Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA). Obtained results are presented and the developed system is compared with some commercially-available solutions for iris recognition.

How to protect users' private data during network data mining has become a hot issue in the fields of big data and network information security. Most current researches on differential privacy k-means clustering algorithms focus on optimizing the selection of initial centroids. However, the traditional privacy budget allocation has the problem that the random noise becomes too large as the number of iterations increases, which will reduce the performance of data clustering. To solve the problem, we improved the way of privacy budget allocation in differentially private clustering algorithm DPk-means, and proposed APDPk-means, a new differential privacy clustering algorithm based on arithmetic progression privacy budget allocation. APDPk-means decomposes the total privacy budget into a decreasing arithmetic progression, allocating the privacy budgets from large to small in the iterative process, so as to ensure the rapid convergence in early iteration. the experiment results show that compared with the other differentially private k-means algorithms, APDPk-means has better performance in availability and quality of the clustering result under the same level of privacy protection. © 2019 IEEE.

Vehicle-based crowdsensing (VCS) is a special case in crowdsourcing, and task assignment is a basic and important problem. In this paper, we investigate the minimum cost task assignment (MCTA) problem for vehicle-based crowdsensing. the VCS platform hopes to recruit some vehicles to complete given spatial-temporal tasks with the minimum cost. As vehicle trajectories are dynamic, we divide the MCTA problem into two sub-problems, the deterministic trajectory (D-MCTA) problem, and nondeterministic trajectory (N-MCTA) problem. For D-MCTA problem, we prove that the D-MCTA problem is NP-hard, and we propose a greedy algorithm to solve this problem. For N-MCTA problem, firstly, we determine the probability of each vehicle's trajectory through the logistic regression method. then, we exploit the semi-Markov method to calculate the probability of each vehicle executing the task. Moreover, a greedy algorithm is proposed and the theoretical analysis is given. Finally, extensive simulations have been conducted to show the performance of our proposed algorithms is superior to the other algorithms. © 2019 IEEE.

Disregard for the rules regarding the minimum safety distance can make the avoidance of a rear-end collision nearly impossible. In a joint effort to enhance safety and improve the decision making processes on an individual level, we contribute to the state of the art with an innovative and affordable system that identifies vehicles and provides a rear-end distance warning system capable of recognizing dangerous situations, and which can also inform other vehicles of the danger, independent of their communication capabilities or equipment. Vision sensors garner information through the stereoscopic capturing and processing of images by rear cameras to calculate the distance between the leading and following vehicles. Visual data related to the safety distance is provided to the following vehicle in real-time, relying on an asynchronous collaborative process. A detailed error analysis of the distance calculation is provided based on the measurement procedure and roadway geometry. Relying on the communication between the two vehicles, an in-vehicle system was compared to the rear-mounted distance warning system under lab-controlled conditions. Both human-machine interaction paradigms were evaluated in terms of their impact on driver response. Results showed that both systems influenced the driver in keeping a time gap of two seconds. Recovery algorithms play a key role in compressive sampling (CS). Currently, a popular recovery algorithm for CS is the orthogonal matching pursuit (OMP), which possesses the merits of low complexity and good recovery quality. Considering that the OMP involves massive matrix/vector operations, it is very suited to being implemented in parallel on graphics processing unit (GPU). In this paper, we first analyze the complexity of each module in the OMP and point out the bottlenecks of the OMP lie in the projection module and the least-squares module. To speedup the projection module, Fujimoto's matrix-vector multiplication algorithm is adopted. To speedup the least-squares module, the matrix-inverse-update algorithm is adopted. Experimental results show that +40x speedup is achieved by our implementation of OMP on GTX480 GPU over on Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU. Since the projection module occupies more than 2/3 of the total run time, we are looking for a faster matrix-vector multiplication algorithm.

A variety of free, open source GIS tools is now available for geo-related processing. the Web processing Service (WPS) uses Web Service technology for spatial calculations or easy access to models on the Internet in contrast to traditional geospatial processing, which is standalone, inefficient and often requires purchase of expensive software. A number of standards-compliant geospatial Web services have been developed using Geographic Resources Analysis Support System (GRASS) functions to manipulate rasters and vectors, and to process satellite image data. the paper adopts the WPS mechanism to expose the existing geospatial processing algorithms in the Web services as the interoperable WPS processes. A 52 North WPS following the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) standard is used supports the server. the key problem is that the version used with GRASS is incompatible with the version used with WPS. the way to address this challenge is to convert the data structure from WPS XML data input to an intermediate format compatible with GRASS. An open source Geo Tools Feature Model would be a major undertaking. Two typical geospatial processes from the WPS would be invoked to handle geospatial data from Web Coverage Service (WCS) and Web Feature Service (WFS). these two cases illustrate that the WPS-enabled algorithm is easily accessed and easily integrated into scientific workflow systems in geospatial modeling. the biggest advantage of is its extremely high efficiency and low cost.
