We present an annotation tool designed to collect fine-grain continuous emotion ground truth labels and physiological responses as users watch different videos. In the existing literature, continuous emotion annotations are typically collected as self-reports based on the 2D Circumplex model through auxiliary devices (a joystick or similar tools) during video consumption. However, the users face challenges as they need to use an auxiliary device and rely on the Circumplex model's valence and arousal axis without clear indication of distinct emotion labels. therefore, to overcome these challenges, we introduce PResCon, a tool that allows to collect emotion annotations using keyboard arrow keys only (without using any auxiliary device) and guiding users towards the discrete emotions (e.g., amused, stressed, bored, relaxed) by embedding them on the Circumplex plane. the tool encompasses two major components - (a) a web interface that displays various stimuli videos and provision of collecting emotion labels (valence and arousal) by moving the keyboard arrow keys and (b) a sensor setup (based on Arduino) that allows to collect the physiological responses (heart rate and galvanic skin response) passively during video consumption. In summary, the PResCon tool facilitates research in the domain of affective computing by allowing to collect fine-grain continuous emotion annotations and the physiological responses in real-time during video consumption. © 2025 IEEE.

Monkeypox, a novel zoonotic disease akin to smallpox, necessitates prompt and accurate diagnosis for effective treatment. Conventional diagnostic techniques, such as Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), offer high precision but require specialized equipment and trained personnel, rendering them impractical in resource-limited settings. Existing deep learning approaches for monkeypox diagnosis have predominantly relied on single, resource-intensive models, prioritizing accuracy over deployment feasibility across diverse computing platforms. In this study, we present a resource-conscious model deployment strategy that balances diagnostic accuracy with computational efficiency, enabling precise diagnosis in both resource-rich environments, such as hospitals, and resource-constrained contexts. We utilize a pretrained ConvNeXt-B model, trained on the extensive ImageNet-22K dataset, for deployment in resource-abundant scenarios, and a SqueezeNet model, optimized for resourcelimited devices using the ImageNet-1K dataset. To enhance the performance of the lightweight SqueezeNet model without increasing computational complexity, we apply Knowledge Distillation. Experimental results demonstrate that the ConvNeXt-B model achieves an accuracy of 95.75%, which is 3.47% higher than the previous studies. Similarly, the Knowledge Distillation-enhanced SqueezeNet model attains an accuracy of 91.89%, representing a 2.32% improvement over the baseline. this dualmodel approach ensures that accurate monkeypox diagnostics are accessible across a wide range of computational environments, thereby supporting more effective outbreak management and contributing to improved public health outcomes. © 2025 IEEE.

this paper addresses the security challenges of 5G communication in rural and sensitive areas by leveraging IoT-enabled mobility and low-power encryption. We propose a hardware implementation of the ZUC-PRN model on the VAMAN microcontroller and demonstrate its efficiency in encrypting data using drones in indoor environments. this approach ensures secure, low-power communication, particularly in regions with limited network infrastructure.

this paper explores a novel randomness evaluation method for data produced by quantum random number generators (QRNGs), leveraging quantum mechanics to achieve highly random data. We employ neural networks and machine learning techniques to analyze the operational principles of QRNGs, enabling the test suites to assess the generators based on their predictability scores. Our findings demonstrate that our model’s ability to predict outcomes surpasses that of comparable approaches. Additionally, we discuss the optimal timing for conducting these tests—specifically, analyzing the raw output from QRNGs before processing through an extractor yields the best performance.

Log parsing, especially the identification of variables/entities and their types, provides important information and cues from log data that can help Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) diagnose failures and monitor the health of applications deployed in the cloud. this paper presents a comprehensive study of the impact of various few-shot learning techniques for log parsing, comparing rule-based methods, machine learning models, and transformer-based approaches. the aim is to develop a universal log parser that can extract complex entities from unseen logs, facilitating more efficient fault diagnosis. this work introduces 17 novel log-specific entity types and releases a new dataset to support future research and development in this domain.

Accurate detection of roadway and traffic control conditions is crucial for enhancing Advanced Driver Assistance systems (ADAS) in dynamic environments. this study aims to leverage deep learning techniques, specifically YOLO series, for their identification in real-world scenarios. Detection of traffic signs, markings and signal along with road conditions such as potholes, and speed breakers are considered. the YOLO models perform well and demonstrates effective and real-time detection capacities.

this paper presents the nascent paradigm of Semantic communication under the larger context of the Native AI & ML as promised by 6G networks. Two typical applications scenarios are presented from education and disaster tracking domains which are relevant for India. Furthermore, we share our experiences, lessons learnt and gaps in terms of practical deployment of an initial PoC towards realizing one of the narrated use cases. We also indicate with practical results how the splitting of AI operations, under the realm of AI native network. Finally, we present the standardization scopes with a note on different recent standardization efforts.

the existing 5G new radio (NR) numerology supports certain values of parameters like subcarrier spacing, symbol duration, and guard interval for vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communications. However, with ever evolving use cases for enhanced-V2X in beyond 5G networks, these recommended values are not sufficient to provide the required quality of service (QoS). Motivated by this, we propose an adaptive numerology scheme (ANS) that dynamically selects these parameters to mitigate the effect of Doppler and multi-path. We present exhaustive simulation results demonstrating the efficiency of the proposed scheme for the dynamic nature of V2X communication networks.

this paper presents a comprehensive methodology for investigating incidents related to access violations in information systems. With the increasing number of cyberattacks targeting organizations’ credentials and internal data, there is a pressing need for a well-structured approach to digital forensics. the methodology proposed herein covers various stages of the investigation process, including the analysis of authentication policies, system logs, and compensatory measures following an incident. the scientific novelty of this work lies in its focused approach to a specific type of attack, expanding the methodology to address the unique characteristics of access rights violations. the effectiveness of this approach has been demonstrated in practice, providing a reliable tool for security professionals.
