With the current evolution in cellular communication towards 6G networks, it is envisioned to provide value added services and enhanced performance for vehicle-to-everything (V2X). In addition to the stringent performance requirements demanding high data rates and ultra-low latency with reliable communication, it is essential to provide safety from all aspects. One possible enabler for the overall optimisation of V2X communications is digital twin (DT) technology. Nevertheless, the DT models and capacities for vehicle communications have not been fully explored in the existing studies. thus, we present a novel brain-inspired network DT model in the paper for event detection and placement, and subsequently for efficient communication. this proposed solution accommodates intelligent models to detect an accident and communicate with the rescue teams efficiently. the performance of the proposed solution is evaluated with a set of comprehensive experiments.

the lifespan of microcontroller is 10 to 15 years. Once microcontroller becomes obsolete, designer need to redevelop whole system again and is costly and needed more time. Main aim of standard for SOM (System-on Module) module interface is to use multi-vendor microcontroller SOM modules within short duration of redevelopment in case of microcontroller obsolesce. With the standard based SOM module interface should be compatible to backward design, flexible in design, scalable as per market needs and effective to cost the purpose of this standard is to serve as a Design Guide for designing products with INDiSi SOM standard interface so that is interoperable to multivendor microcontroller based solutions. Also it helps them to understand applications and modules for developing as per their requirement.

this work explores the application of a Quantum algorithm, namely Weighted Subspace-Search-Variational-Quantum-Eigensolver (SSVQE), a variant of the traditional VQE algorithm, to predict optimal as well as sub-optimal sparse array configurations for the problem of beamforming. the optimization formulation is designed to maximize the Signal-to-Interference-plus-Noise Ratio (SINR), which is then reformulated into Quadratic Unconstrained Binary Optimization (QUBO) representation to serve as the Hamiltonian for the weighted SSVQE algorithm. the results obtained are presented along with classically obtained SINR plots to facilitate a comparison of the sparse array configurations. Our findings indicate that the output from the quantum algorithm precisely match with the results obtained from the classical method.

this paper discusses a thorough method for integrating and synchronizing many sensors for autonomous driving and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). Our system’s primary goals are the accurate placement of several sensors, data recording, inspection, and synchronization of various sensor types, including radar, cameras, IMU, and GNSS. We suggested an effective synchronization technique to align the data streams temporally, ensuring data integration and analysis consistency. this method improves environmental awareness and system integration, leading to progress in combining radar and camera technologies, improving data labeling, and enabling enhanced fusion of sensor data, which is essential for strengthening self-driving cars’ effectiveness and security.

the integration of Terrestrial networks (TNs) and Non-Terrestrial networks (NTNs), including satellites, is essential for enabling seamless, high-quality, and ubiquitous communication in the era beyond 5G. this paper proposes an architecture for implementing Edge Caching and Coded Delivery services within an integrated TN-NTN 3GPP system. the architecture introduces a two-level caching mechanism, with the first level located in the Satellite Network (Satellite Edge Computing) and the second level deployed in the ground-based Terrestrial Edge Data Network. It leverages the 5G Multicast Broadcast Service (MBS) with Point-to-Multipoint (PTM) delivery for efficient coded multicast transmission. Additionally, the paper discusses standardization aspects and addresses key challenges in deploying and integrating the proposed architecture.

this work is motivated by the task of scheduling communication in latency-sensitive systems with potentially unreliable sources. the system consists of multiple communication channels with unknown communication success probabilities. We focus on metrics like the Age-of-Information and Loss-of-Credibility designed specifically for latency-sensitive systems. For a single source, single destination system with slotted time, we model the task of choosing one of the K possible channels for communication over time as a multi-arm bandit problem with path-dependent rewards. the rewards are path-dependent since, for metrics like AoI and LoC, the system’s state in a given slot depends on the channel used for communication in that particular slot and is a function of the channels used in the past. We propose a policy and characterize its regret performance. In addition, we provide fundamental bounds on the regret performance of any online policy to serve as a benchmark. We supplement our analytical results with simulations.

Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition systems are the backbone of managing critical infrastructure in modern industrial control systems, spanning sectors from power generation to logistics. However, these systems face significant challenges due to threats from malicious actors. the Modbus protocol, despite its known lack of security features, is still used in many industries managing critical infrastructure due to the high cost of replacing existing systems. As a result, these legacy systems remain vulnerable to potentially damaging threats. this paper proposes an adapter device for enhancing the security of the Modbus protocol without replacing devices in legacy systems. the proposed adapter is cost-efficient, provides cross-platform support, and is easy to install, update, and maintain.

this paper examines the integration of Intelligent Reflecting Surfaces (IRS) in beyond 5G (B5G) communication networks, where the IRS reflects signals with adjustable phase shifts. By optimizing these phase shifts, called passive beamforming, substantial improvements in communication performance can be achieved. We maximize energy efficiency in the uplink communication, utilizing the IRS. However, including an IRS introduces complexities, particularly in channel estimation. To address this, we examine two innovative approaches to minimize the channel estimation overhead: the first leverages a grouping strategy for the reflecting elements. In contrast, the second approach utilizes positioned-based phase optimization. Simulation results confirm that the IRS significantly enhances energy efficiency compared to the traditional system.

Federated Learning (FL) has emerged as a transformative paradigm enabling decentralized model training while preserving data privacy. Within FL, synchronous and asynchronous training modes are two widely adopted approaches. this paper compares synchronous and asynchronous federated learning by examining their impact across accuracy and convergence epochs. through a series of experimental evaluations, we demonstrate the strengths and limitations of each approach in diverse settings, offering insights into the trade-offs and applicability of synchronous and asynchronous FL modes for various distributed learning scenarios. Our findings aim to guide researchers and practitioners in selecting optimal FL configurations based on their system requirements and performance priorities.

Software-defined vehicles (SDVs) are an emerging technology in the automotive industry, changing from software to hardware. this paper discusses the total restructuring of the automobile at different levels, including user experience in terms of advanced software-driven capabilities, over-the-air updates, real-time connectivity, and service-oriented architecture. It is all about the evolution of SDVs, their primary characteristics, how they are implemented, and which middleware supports their performance. Other critical issues for SDVs are the safety standards they must comply with and the intricacies of hardware-compatible software applications. thus, the paper elaborates on all possible aspects and illuminates how SDVs can bring innovation and drive new opportunities for the automotive industry.
