From these new technologies arose the deployment of IoT Networks. However, most of the IoT devices still don't implement security countermeasures, turn them vulnerable to cyberattacks. One of the most dangerous cyberattacks for IoT networks is the Mirai Botnet, a malware that turns networked consumer devices into a botnet to perform distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks. therefore, it is necessary to provide a security solution to detect cyberattacks on IoT networks. A promising approach to improve the IoT network's detection capacity is the use of Machine Learning (ML) based solutions. this paper presents an intelligent mechanism to detect the Scan, Ack Flooding, Syn Flooding, UDP Flooding, and UDPplain Mirai Botnet attacks on IoT networks using ML techniques, comparing distinct ML approaches (KNN, SVM, and LR). the proposed mechanism was evaluated using a real IoT devices traffic dataset, giving 99% of accuracy to detect Mirai Botnet.

In order to solve the problem that the traditional street lamps cannot be controlled dynamically according to the specific conditions of the road at night, an intelligent street lamp control system based on speed and sensor detection information is designed to adjust the number of street lamps in front of the vehicle which are turned on in advance, including the illumination level of street lamps. the system combines Radio frequency identification technology to read the tag information of the vehicle through the reader installed on the street lamp and calculate the driving speed and the number of lamps to be turned on. the sensors are installed on the street lamp node to collect the environmental illumination and the vehicle driving information in real time. According to the fuzzy control strategy, the information is analyzed and calculated and the illumination level of the street lamp is adjusted accordingly. MATLAB simulation results show that the system can adjust the illumination level of the lamp quickly according to the result of the sensors, thus reducing the energy consumption of the system.

In this paper, we present a similarity classifier that uses a generalized ordered weighted averaging (GOWA) operator in aggregation. this paper extends earlier research into the ordered weighted averaging (OWA) operator based similarity classifier. Weight-generation for the GOWA operator has been done by using selected regular increasing monotone (RIM) linguistic quantifiers. the proposed new method is tested with four real-world medical data sets and benchmarked against three previously presented similarity classifiers. In general it is found that the performance of the proposed new classifier was good for all data sets tested.

Recently, the Vehicular Ad-hoc network (VANET) has progressively gained attention from both industry and research withthe rapid development of wireless communication technology and intelligent vehicles. the vehicles exchange messages with other entities but cannot share the resources between them. therefore, security is required in some scenarios including integrity, traceability, confidentiality, notarization of exchanged information as well as access control. In order to provide a secure vehicle communication and access control, we propose an ABAC access control model using smart contract on the blockchain. the use of the blockchain facilitates the sharing of secure messages among vehicles. Moreover, vehicles are able to share the resources with each other exploiting the access control policy on the XACML standard. then, we evaluate the access response time and the storage overhead of the proposal.

this paper introduces a plug-and-play descriptor that can be effectively adopted for image retrieval tasks without prior initialization or preparation. the description method utilizes the recently proposed Vision Transformer network while it does not require any training data to adjust parameters. In image retrieval tasks, the use of Handcrafted global and local descriptors has been very successfully replaced, over the last years, by the Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN)-based methods. However, the experimental evaluation conducted in this paper on several benchmarking datasets against 36 state-of-the-art descriptors from the literature demonstrates that a neural network that contains no convolutional layer, such as Vision Transformer, can shape a global descriptor and achieve competitive results. As fine-tuning is not required, the presented methodology's low complexity encourages adoption of the architecture as an image retrieval baseline model, replacing the traditional and well adopted CNN-based approaches and inaugurating a new era in image retrieval approaches.

the emergence of various interest-based online communities has led to the popularity of new forms of distributed creative teamwork such as citizen science, crowdsourcing, and open source software development. these new phenomena further complicate the context and content of distributed creative teamwork: what are the characteristics of these new forms of creative teams? And how do they shape people's perceptions and social experiences of distributed creative teams? In this paper, we report our empirical research of the team characteristics and practices in a creativity-centric technology community (i.e., independent [indie] game development) in hopes of exploring these questions. Our findings show that 1) indie game development teams are formed upon shared aspirations and use various strategies to collaborate with friends or online strangers;and their team practices are achieved through a balance between individual creativity and collective vision as well as a collaborative learning for problem solving and self-improvement;and 2) these teams mediate new forms of social interaction and collaborative experiences, featuring a mix of online comradery and weak social ties, and a mix of self-confidence and self-confliction. Using this new dataset and research context, we confirm and extend existing theories of distributed creative teams in CSCW. We also argue that studying these small-scale, self-selected, and interest-based teams can inform the design of collaborative systems to support various creative teams' social needs.
