With the rapid advancement of space communication technology, the integrated space-air-ground-sea network demonstrates tremendous potential applications in various fields. Particularly in remote areas where traditional base station is almost unable to be established, satellite communication provides an optimal solution to address communication difficulties. Meanwhile, the continuous expansion of data scale makes the traditional end-to-end transmission mode of TCP/IP unsuitable to satellite communication. To address this issue, this paper proposes a multi-layer Satellite Internet of things (SIoT) architecture based on Information-Centric Networking (ICN) and Software-Defined Networking (SDN) technologies, namely Information-Defined Satellite Network (IDSN). In the designs of satellite routing networks and ground-to-ground networks, the controller primarily integrates with ICN at the application layer, developing ICN-related services such as name resolution, name routing, and content caching to achieve intelligent data management. To enhance the compatibility of network infrastructure, IP protocol is reused, enabling effective differentiation between ICN request and IP request in the OpenFlow protocol. Layered and distributed controller deployment, and layered naming make the architecture more intelligent. Experimental results illustrate that the proposed framework can efficiently realize ICN caching features while simultaneously reducing latency.

With the rapid development of cyber information system construction, optical networks, as a crucial component of the cyber information infrastructure, carry an increasing amount of data information and directly determine the performance of the network information system. the occurrence of faults in optical networks can severely impact various information transmissions; hence, fault warning and analysis are essential to ensure the stable and reliable operation of optical networks. Traditional fault warning and analysis of optical networks mainly rely on expert experience and network management system alarms, which have limitations such as long training cycles for backbone personnel, poor fault tolerance of network management systems, and long cycles for knowledge base construction. these limitations make it difficult to provide early warnings before faults occur in optical transmission networks, and the implementation of intelligent operation and maintenance of optical networks is challenging. therefore, warning of optical network performance helps to accurately detect hidden dangers and determine fault causes before faults occur in optical transmission networks, and to prepare spare boards, fiber cores, and backbone forces in advance, minimizing repair time and achieving "zero" fault perception for users. this paper proposes an optical network fault warning model based on recurrent neural networks to achieve high-accuracy and intelligent response for optical network fault warnings.

the enormous volumes of data generated by Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) technology have transformed genomics and made efficient data analysis techniques necessary. To create data analytics applications, the extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) process is necessary. In understanding data features, representation, storage, I/O operations, intermediate findings, in-memory analysis, and total processing time, the data format is crucial, as this study emphasizes. Data conformance is required for effective analysis since different machine learning and data mining algorithms require different types and forms of data. In this paper, we explore data format-centric optimization of the ETL process for NGS data analysis. We investigate how computing efficiency and analytical correctness are affected by the choice of data type. By using distributed computing and parallel processing, we evaluate the effectiveness of several data formats in NGS data analysis processes, such as FASTQ, BAM, and VCF. Our study offers suggestions for developing data analytics applications in the genomics field by clarifying the relationship between data format, ETL, and algorithmic needs. We also look at the trade-offs between resource usage and data format choice. In the end, our study contributes to more accurate and efficient genomics research by addressing the urgent need for well-informed data format options in NGS data analysis.

Dynamicity is one of the critical characteristics and a major challenge in designing communication protocols in wireless networks. Most of the previous works had focused on the internal node changes (e.g., mobility, arrival, or departure) and not considered the effect of external environmental change. However, the external environmental change, in general, is a more complex phenomenon that can impede nodes from successful communication, implying the protocols of the previous dynamic models do not work well in practice. In this paper, we give an algorithm for distributed broadcasting in a more general model with fully dynamic wireless networks, called FD-Broadcast. Specifically, we present a fully dynamic model which allows node mobility and churns (due to node arrivals/departure) and external environmental change. In contrast to the previous works on dynamic networks, our model defines the full dynamicity in terms of localized topological changes of each node and can tolerate some external environmental change. the external environment changes are captured by the random jamming method. We show that FD-Broadcast can achieve broadcasting in O(D_S) rounds with a high probability guarantee under the assumption of constant dynamic rate in the SINR model, where D_S is the dynamic diameter, a parameter proposed to depict the complexity of dynamic broadcasting. Moreover, the lower bound of dynamic broadcasting is proved to be Ω(D_S), thus, FD-Broadcast is asymptotically optimal with high probability.

Deduplication is a data redundancy elimination technique, designed to save system storage resources by reducing redundant data in cloud storage systems. With the development of cloud computing technology, deduplication has been increasingly applied to cloud data centers. However, traditional technologies face great challenges in big data deduplication to properly weigh the two conflicting goals of deduplication throughput and high duplicate elimination ratio. this paper proposes a similarity clustering-based deduplication strategy (named SCDS), which aims to delete more duplicate data without significantly increasing system overhead. the main idea of SCDS is to narrow the query range of fingerprint index by data partitioning and similarity clustering algorithms. In the data preprocessing stage, SCDS uses data partitioning algorithm to classify similar data together. In the data deletion stage, the similarity clustering algorithm is used to divide the similar data fingerprint superblock into the same cluster. Repetitive fingerprints are detected in the same cluster to speed up the retrieval of duplicate fingerprints. Experiments show that the deduplication ratio of SCDS is better than some existing similarity deduplication algorithms, but the overhead is only slightly higher than some high throughput but low deduplication ratio methods.

With a global increase of distributed generation, the power grids are becoming complex and demand more flexible and intelligent control systems. distributed generation also creates need for effective peer-to-peer energy market where multiple sellers and buyers transact energy within. this paper suggests a trading market platform designed for making peer-to-peer (P2P) energy transactions. the problem is formulated in terms of Knapsack 0-1 Problem and Dynamic Programming Algorithm is implemented to bring maximum financial benefit to prosumers. Case study is presented for a microgrid of 1 seller and 4 buyers and simulation results show that during every auction seller gets the highest economic surplus, while consumers get locally produced energy at cheaper than grid price.

the article discusses the main metrics for evaluating the performance of big data warehouses, compares the characteristics of the most popular modern frameworks. When considering distributed storage of large amounts of information, it is impossible to use the same indicators of speed and efficiency that are used in local databases. Qualitative and quantitative evaluation is complicated by the inability to reproduce the same queries in the same conditions when using distributed storage. this is caused by the constantly changing state of the transmitting environment and computing resources. When choosing a framework, technology stack, file system, distributed database architecture for a specific task, it is necessary to take into account a large number of factors, as well as the totality and frequency of operations and treatments that will be required in this system. the features and advantages of using containers and various file systems for storing data in distributed systems are presented, as well as other technologies that allow increasing the speed and efficiency of data processing in large arrays of heterogeneous data. At the moment, there is no single solution that would allow the best way to organize the storage of large volumes of heterogeneous data, but there are trends in the development of technologies for their processing. Fog computing is a technology that provides distributed computing, storage and other services between cloud servers and Internet of things(IoT) devices. It reduces the pressure on cloud servers and utilizes network edges for computing and storage, thereby improving the performance of the entire IoT system. Since fog computing uses traditional security technologies to realize the communication between fog nodes and end users, it is inevitable for fog computing to face some security threats, such as eavesdropping attacks, camouflage attacks and other security threats. Aiming at this problem, this paper proposes a impersonation attack detection scheme based on Sarsa(lambda) algorithm. the scheme first builds a camouflage attack model and a key generation model based on physical layer security technology, then performs hypothesis testing at the receiving end to verify the legitimacy of the training signal, and then obtains the optimal threshold through the proposed algorithm. the optimal threshold realizes the terminal communication security between user nodes and fog nodes. the experimental results show that the algorithm can effectively detect camouflage attacks in a dynamic fog computing environment and have a low average detection error rate. When , AER decreased to 0.4925.

Performing a maintenance of wind energy system components under good wind conditions may lead to energy not served and finally – to financial losses. the best starting time of preventive maintenance will be, that reduces the energy not served in most. To find this time, a decision model is desired, where many circumstances should be taken into account, i.e. (i) the number and the order of components to be maintained, (ii) component maintenance duration, and (iii) wind turbine(s) output power prediction. Usually, preventive maintenance is planned a few days or weeks in advance. One of the decision problem representations can be influence diagram that enables choosing a decision alternative that has the lowest expected utility (energy not served). the paper presents an decision model that can support decisions-making on starting time of preventive maintenance and maintenance order of wind energy system components. the model relies on influence diagram. the conditional probability distribution of a chance nodes of the diagram are obtained relying on Bayesian networks (BN), whereas the utilities of value node in the diagram are calculated thanks to the second order semi-Markov chains (SMC). the example shows the application of the model in real case of two wind turbines located in Poland. Both the parameters of Bayesian network nodes and semi-Markov chain are derived from real data recorded by SCADA system of the both turbines and weather forecast. © Springer international Publishing AG, part of Springer Nature 2019.
