Nowadays, the effectiveness of team negotiation in team negotiation environment has attracted extensive attention. However, solidarity behavior reflected in making contributions to others may influence the negotiation process and outcome. In this paper, how solidarity behavior affects the negotiation process and improves the negotiation performance is discussed. Team negotiation strategy related to solidarity behavior is modeled, and the agent-based simulation approach is applied for constructing the team negotiation environment. the experiment results indicate that the concession strategy is efficient to deal with interest conflicts. With respect to the concession strategy, there are two ways for selecting beneficiary to accept the contribution: the deviation-maximum way and the increment maximum way. the two ways may result in different negotiation performance when the team members have different preference distributions including the homogeneous preference and the heterogeneous preference. Moreover, concession extent also affects the outcome of negotiation. In summary, the effects of team member's solidarity behavior on the process and outcome of negotiation are verified, and various factors need to be comprehensively considered to reach an agreement efficiently in team negotiation.

this paper presents a multi-loop control strategy for parallel distributed generation (DG) units in standalone mode of operation. Indeed, an Adaptive Proportional plus Multi Resonant (Adaptive P+MR) controller is designed for the voltage control loop and a simple Proportional regulator is used for the inner current loop. the proposed frequency adaptive control structure is also prorogued to parallel inverters with decentralized power sharing controllers thanks to the frequency adjusting property of the proposed multi-loop control strategy. A co-simulation is carried out combining Matlab/Simulink and PSIM environments in order to highlight the effectiveness of the global control structure which ensures high tracking performance with reduced total harmonic distortion (thD), deals efficiently with load disturbances and may face large frequency deviation while maintaining an accurate power sharing among the parallel DGs units. © 2016 IEEE.

Several distributed applications running over the Internet use Reputation Management Systems (RMSs) to guarantee reliable interactions among unknown agents. Because of the heterogeneity of the existing RMSs, their assessment in terms of correctness and resistance to security attacks is not a trivial task. this work addresses this issue by presenting a novel parallel simulator aimed to support researchers in evaluating the performances of a RMS since the design phase. Preliminary results obtained by simulating two different attacks confirm the suitability of the proposed framework to evaluate different RMSs.

the recent emergence of hardware architectures characterized by many-core or accelerated processors has opened new opportunities for concurrent programming models taking advantage of both SIMD and SIMT architectures. GeantV, a next generation detector simulation, has been designed to exploit both the vector capability of mainstream CPUs and multi-threading capabilities of coprocessors including NVidia GPUs and Intel Xeon Phi. the characteristics of these architectures are very different in terms of the vectorization depth and type of parallelization needed to achieve optimal performance. In this paper we describe implementation of electromagnetic physics models developed for parallel computing architectures as a part of the GeantV project. Results of preliminary performance evaluation and physics validation are presented as well.

We present an integrated environment for large scale multi-parameter design optimization of RF devices based on AFRL's Galaxy simulation Builder productivity tool for distributed high-performance computing, Sandia National Lab's DAKOTA optimization library, and a suite of highly efficient GPU-based Electromagnetic codes developed at NRL in collaboration with Leidos, Inc. the environment allows for an end-toend optimization cycle of an RF device to be set up, deployed, carried out, monitored and analyzed in a quick, user-friendly, robust, and flexible fashion using a diverse variety of high-end parallel computing resources.

Multi-agent systems allow the modelling of complex, heterogeneous, and distributed systems in a realistic way. MARL-Ped is a multi-agent system tool, based on the MPI standard, for the simulation of different scenarios of pedestrians who autonomously learn the best behavior by Reinforcement Learning. MARL-Ped uses one MPI process for each agent by design, with a fixed fine-grain granularity. this requirement limits the performance of the simulations for a restricted number of processors that is lesser than the number of agents. On the other hand, Hitmap is a library to ease the programming of parallel applications based on distributed arrays. It includes abstractions for the automatic partition and mapping of arrays at runtime with arbitrary granularity, as well as functionalities to build flexible communication patterns that transparently adapt to the data partitions. In this work, we present the methodology and techniques of granularity selection in Hitmap, applied to the simulations of agent systems. As a first approximation, we use the MARL-Ped multi-agent pedestrian simulation software as a case of study for intra-node cases. Hitmap allows to transparently map agents to processes, reducing oversubscription and intra-node communication overheads. the evaluation results show significant advantages when using Hitmap, increasing the flexibility, performance, and agent-number scalability for a fixed number of processing elements, allowing a better exploitation of isolated nodes. © Springer International Publishing AG 2016.

In this paper it is presented the analysis of an electric power distribution branch containing a photovoltaic system, considering the generation and propagation of harmonic distortion. the obtained results refer to an operational configuration of the grid with a parallel resonance at a harmonic frequency generated by the photovoltaic system due to an installed capacitor bank. Power Simulator- PSIM is used as a simulation platform to evaluate the propagation of current harmonic distortion as well the associated voltage harmonic distortions. A technique to identify the network resonance frequencies is also proposed. Under these conditions, violations of the voltage total harmonic distortion operational limits are evaluated, as well as the recommended operating limits for the installed capacitor bank. © 2016 IEEE.

Lazy allocation strategy allows the memory management system to defer the space allocation action of objects until they are being accessed. this paper investigates the potential benefits of a lazy allocator for Java applications. A heap tracing tool is implemented by instrumenting an existing Java virtual machine HotSpot, which records useful object manipulating events at runtime. By profiling and analyzing a large number of benchmarks, we show the potential dynamic memory management optimization opportunity in Java programs. We also designed a simulation system to demonstrate the actual effects of a lazy allocator.

this paper proposes a new multi-segment adaptive droop control method, applied in islanded AC microgrids with distributed energy storage systems (DESSs) and hybrid PV/Battery units, for balancing their state of charge (SoC). the power/frequency characteristic curves are adjusted locally in real-time, based on the SoC level of the respective battery. Aim of the control is to maintain a comparable number of charging/discharging cycles among the batteries, while preserving the power balance in the islanded microgrid. the control strategies are implemented in each battery without relying on communications or a central management algorithm. the microgrid frequency is used as communication parameter in order to adjust the charging/discharging rate of each storage system. Detailed simulation results verify the effectiveness of this method in an islanded microgrid consisting of several loads, powered by PVs, hybrid PV/Battery units and DESSs.

this paper presents a design methodology for the tuning of a class-D half-wave resonant rectifier with a parallel LC resonant tank input network. Class-D resonant rectifiers offer numerous advantages at high operating frequencies that are leveraged here in the design of a high-voltage rectifier. the absence of a systematic design process, however, has been a limiting factor. Designers have been relying largely on parametric variation during transient simulation to design a rectifier with resistive input impedance at the fundamental frequency of operation. In this paper, we propose a systematic design procedure that begins with universal design curves applicable to any rectifier design of this topology. this is followed by parameter selection and a convergence check that ensures the rectifier operates with the desired output voltage. Experimental results confirm the validity of the design method for both linear and nonlinear resonant capacitances. Based on the outlined procedure, a 25 MHz 500 V rectifier with resistive input impedance is designed and experimentally verified.
