Atext encryption scheme is proposed by combining chaotic map, dna encoding and dna strand displacement (DSD). the scheme firstly scrambles the plaintext information and the sequence generated by the two-dimensional logistic chaotic map through Arnold map, and then performs XOR operation with the sequence generated by the one-dimensional logistic chaotic map, and then converts it into a dna sequence matrix. Secondly, two encryption rules based on dna strand displacement are proposed according to the diversity of dna strand displacement, and the new dna sequence is obtained by randomly selecting these two encryption rules to perform dna strand displacement reaction on the dna sequence. Finally, the new dna sequence is decoded to obtain the encrypted cipher-text. the example analysis demonstrates that the encryption scheme provides effective encryption and security.

this work presents a modified hyperchaotic system based on two memristors with unique Lyapunov exponents, offering a unique method for image encryption. the main goals are to use dynamic analysis to evaluate the complexity and unpredictable nature of the proposed method and then apply it to image encryption. A strong color picture encryption system is developed by combining Deoxyribonucleic acid (dna) sequences, logistic maps, and the memristive hyperchaotic system. Using an upgraded four-dimensional dual memristor-based hyperchaotic system with three Lyapunov exponents, logistic mapping, and dna encoding are all integrated in this technique. this research carefully combines these three methods to solve current issues with picture encryption schemes. Security performance tests and simulations, which verify the efficiency of the proposed algorithm against different attacks, such as brute-force, statistical, entropy, differential, visual, and histogram attacks, preserve methodological rigor. Comparisons with traditional chaotic systems in image processing demonstrate how much better security the proposed method exhibits. Important rmdings show how dna operations may be successfully integrated with the hyperchaotic memristive system to produce improved picture encryption capabilities. the program not only proves its efficacy in protecting picture data, but it also performs better than traditional methods. Applications like information security, encryption, and secure communication are all affected by these discoveries. the research highlights the algorithm's resilience to many attacks, highlighting its potential as a significant advance in image encryption algorithms. the suggested method offers a feasible way to protect strict image data in a variety of real-world situations. © 2024 Bharati Vidyapeeth, New Delhi.

A COMPARISON OF dna DAMAGES PRODUCED UNDER CONDITIONS OF DIRECT AND INDIRECT ACTION OF RADIATION

Studies using a P-32-postlabelling assay reveal that at both low and high concentrations of hydroxyl radical scavenger, dna damage from alpha-irradiation is similar to that from gamma-irradiation. At low concentrations of scavenger the identified damages are predominantly thymine glycol (T-g) and phosphoglycolate (pg) lesions, indicative of indirect hydroxyl radical ( OH) action. However, at high concentrations of scavenger (i.e. where direct effects are expected to dominate) a somewhat different pattern of damage is observed after alpha- and gamma-irradiation, with several novel lesions detected. Further experiments, in which the results of DMSO scavenging of irradiated dna solutions are compared with glycerol scavenging and irradiation of 'dry' solid dna, demonstrate that both direct effects and scavenger-derived secondary radicals contribute to the different spectra of lesions observed upon irradiation of highly scavenged dna systems. Generally, irradiation under conditions that favour direct damage result in a lower relative yield of pg, whilst for the highly scavenged systems T-g damages persist. To account for this we propose that T-g are efficiently produced by direct action in these systems. Differences seen upon irradiation of the 'dry' system, compared with those of dilute aqueous solution, suggest that direct action yields a distinct spectrum of lesions.

the Internet of things (IoT) refers to a system of interconnected physical objects globally linked to each other through the internet. the IoT envisions connecting trillions of smart devices in our surroundings, generating a substantial volume of data that requires processing, transmission, and storage. Ensuring the security and privacy of data in IoT poses a formidable challenge, and it is regarded as the foremost priority for numerous present and upcoming applications. Devices like WSNs, RFIDs, smartphones, etc., constitute the primary elements of IoT networks, which are essentially resource-constrained devices. the implementation design of privacy and security management schemes for these devices is influenced by several factors such as optimal performance, minimal power usage, resilience against attacks, comprehensive end-to-end security, and protection against data tampering. Security systems for the IoT thwart unauthorized access to data by safeguarding against destruction or modifications. In this study, we proposed a confidentiality algorithm that combines dna cryptography, Genetic Algorithm (GA), and Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) to form a hybrid approach. the hybrid algorithm ensures robust data confidentiality during the transmission of information for IoT. Our proposed algorithm performs better regarding key generation, encryption, and decryption time with respect to the various file sizes. © 2024 Bharati Vidyapeeth, New Delhi.

We present here a complete three-dimensional molecular model structure of the ternary complex (Enzyme-dna-dNTP) of human immunodeficiency virus-type 1 reverse transcriptase (HIV-1 RT) using high performance computer simulation and molecular modeling techniques. the Ca coordinates of the crystal structure of HIV-1 RT-dna binary complex as well as biochemical properties of a number of mutant enzymes were used as the basis to model build a prepolymerase ternary complex in which Mg2 + ions are also accommodated. the side chains of amino acid residues interacting with the template and primer strands and those stabilizing the dNTP and Mg2+ ions in the active site pocket are clearly elucidated in the model. the structural information provided by this model should be useful in understanding the polymerase reaction mechanisms and should permit structure based drug design against HIV-1 RT.

In this article, some of the advantages and limitations of dna microarray technologies for gene expression profiling are summarized. As a model experiment, DermArray(R) dna microarrays were utilized to identify potential biomarkers of cultured normal human melanocytes in two different experimental comparisons. In the first case, melanocyte RNA was compared with vastly dissimilar non-melanocytic RNA samples of normal skin keratinocytes and fibroblasts. In the second case, melanocyte RNA was compared with a primary cutaneous melanoma line (MS7) and a metastatic melanoma cell line (SKMel-28). the alternative approaches provide dramatically different lists of 'normal melanocyte' biomarkers. the most robust biomarkers were identified using principal component analysis bioinformatic methods related to likelihood ratios. Only three of 25 robust biomarkers in the melanocyte-proximal study (i.e. melanocytes vs. melanoma cells) were coincidentally identified in the melanocyte-distal study (i.e. melanocytes vs. non-melanocytic cells). Selected up-regulated biomarkers of melanocytes (i.e. TRP-1, melan-A/MART-1, silver/Pmel17, and nidogen-2) were validated by qRT-PCR. Some of the melanocytic biomarkers identified here may be useful in molecular diagnostics, as potential molecular targets for drug discovery, and for understanding the biochemistry of melanocytic cells.

Understanding stochasticity at the molecular level is a challenge for biology and chemistry. Here we use droplet microfluidics and dna computing to generate random distributions of dna strands. A miRNA is Poisson-encapsulated, and programmed to trigger one of two dna amplifiers with equal probability. this creates a Bernoulli distribution of two dna species, confirmed by fluorescence microscopy. this system, which can synthesize a variety of dnas from a single solution, is expected to enable a bottom-up approach to studying the response of chemical reactions to large numbers of random numbers. © 2021 MicroTAS 2021 - 25th international conference on Miniaturized Systems for Chemistry and Life Sciences. INFLUENCE OF NUCLEIC-ACID BASE COMPOSITION ON RADIATION-INDUCED STRAND BREAKAGE IN SINGLE-STRANDED-dna - A TIME-RESOLVED STUDY

the following study investigates the pathways involved in the induction of single strand breaks (ssb) in various samples of single stranded (ss) dna (calf thymus, Micrococcus lysodeikticus, Clostridium perfringens) with differing nucleic acid base composition. the time scale for the induction of ssb was determined from changes in the light scattering intensity following pulse irradiation of aqueous solutions containing these ssdna samples at pH7.8 under either aerated or deaerated conditions. the induction of ssb under these conditions is predominantly by the hydroxyl radical and shows Various kinetically distinct components. the immediate ssb (t< 0.02 s) account for similar to 40-60% of the total yield of ssb. the majority of these ssb are suggested to arise from the 'common' initial attack of the hydroxyl radicals at the sugar phosphate backbone for each of the three dna samples. Furthermore, slower components for ssb formation (t>0.02s) were observed and are suggested to occur through base radical mediated H-atom abstraction from the sugar moiety. the half lives for formation of the majority of ssb, formed through this base radical mediated H-atom abstraction(s), are in the range of 20-43 ms. the yields of these 'base-mediated' ssb vary markedly (under both aerobic and anaerobic conditions) and reflect the base composition of the dna sample. It is suggested from these studies that the OH-induced base radicals of guanine/cytosine are more effective precursors for strand breakage than those from adenine/thymine in ssdna.

Analysis of dna sequences is a data and computational intensive problem, and therefore, it requires suitable parallel computing resources and algorithms. In this paper, we describe our parallel algorithm for dna sequence analysis that determines how many times a pattern appears in the dna sequence. the algorithm is engineered for heterogeneous platforms that comprise a host with multi-core processors and one or more many-core devices. For combinatorial optimization, we use the simulated annealing algorithm. the optimization goal is to determine the number of threads, thread affinities, and dna sequence fractions for host and device, such that the overall execution time of dna sequence analysis is minimized. We evaluate our approach experimentally using real-world dna sequences of various organisms on a heterogeneous platform that comprises two Intel Xeon E5 processors and an Intel Xeon Phi 7120P co-processing device. By running only about 5% of possible experiments, our optimization method finds a near-optimal system configuration for dna sequence analysis that yields with average speedup of 1.6x and 2x compared with the host-only and device-only execution. Microflow reactors provide a means of implementing dna computing as a whole, not just individual steps. Contrary to surface based dna Chips[1], microflow reactors with active components in closed flow systems can be used to integrate complete dna computations[2]. Microreactors allow complicated flow topologies to be realized which can implement a dataflowlike architecture for the processing of dna. A technologically feasible scalable approach with many reaction chambers however requires constant hydrodynamic flows. In this work, the experimental construction of a basic constant flow module for dna processing in such a context is addressed. Limited diffusional exchange in parallel flows is used to establish spatio-temporal segregation of reaction conditions which can be crossed by magnetic beads without barriers. As previously outlined[2], linked up with an optical programming technology, this will enable dna selection to be programmed and complex population selection to be performed. the basic first experimental step in the realization of this program is described here: the establishment of a stable hydrodynamic flow pattern which is scalable to many reactors in parallel and the demonstration of a scalable and synchronous clocking of magnetic beadbased processing. First results with fluorescently-labeled dna transfer will also be presented at the conference. the way in which this module may be integrated to solve the maximal clique problem has been proposed elsewhere[2]. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2001.
