Reputation may be understood as representing beliefs or opinions about someone or something, and it is recognized as a mechanism of social control. Reputation mechanisms are largely applied in online marketplaces, multiagent systems (MAS), P2P networks and other applications that require distributed and known information about agents. the process of evaluating agent's reputation clearly involves imprecision, ambiguity and incompleteness. In this paper, we introduce a fuzzy logic-based reputation model for social exchange processes in MAS. We consider a variable dimensional system evaluation, using weighted aggregation functions in order to aggregate the fuzzy information of agent's experiences (related to all considered dimensions) continuously, giving greater weight to more recent information. Some case studies are presented to analyse the behavior of the model. For that, we consider a MAS scenario in the context of online marketplace. We adopt the JaCaMo framework for the implementation, which uses BDI (Believe, Desires and Intentions) agent architecture and artifacts.

VASP (Vienna Ab initio simulation Package) is a prevalent first-principle software framework. It is so widely used that its runtime usually dominates the usage of current supercomputers. the porting and optimization of VASP to the Sunway TaihuLight supercomputer, a newly heterogeneous many-core platform based on SW26010 CPU, becomes of great importance. In this paper, we focus on the challenges in porting and optimizing VASP on the SW26010 CPU. Optimizations on three types of time-consuming kernels, which include matrix operations, FFT, and certain domain-specific computing primitives, are carried out base on thorough performance profiling. the experimental results are shown by the case of RELAX, where speedup of 2.90x and 4.48x is sustained respectively for both of the iterative diagonalization methods in VASP, RMM-DIIS (RMM) and block Davidson (DAV). © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2018.

Due to the explosive growth of data volume on the Internet, deduplication techniques have been wildly used in cloud storage to save both disk space and network bandwidth. However, conventional deduplication schemes lead to problems with data reliability that can be attributed to the algorithm implementation where there is only one copy for each file stored in the cloud. Furthermore, the participation of trusted third party in most of the previous work has brought about the security challenge as single point of failure. In this paper, we propose a blockchain based deduplication scheme with high reliability and confidentiality in which the files are distributed to multiple servers and the information of files is recorded on the time-stamped blockchain whose central authorities are replaced to automatically decentralized smart contracts. Based on the proposed scheme, we present relevant protocols to achieve secure cloud storage derived from the consensus and incentive mechanism. Security analysis demonstrates that our deduplication scheme can achieve the proposed security goals while it has limited overhead proved by simulation experiments.

the earthquake process leads to the destruction of building and has a significant influence on human life. Nowadays there is no methods to forecast it with the 100 % precision. Scientists around the world make efforts to invent numerical methods for simulation of the earthquake process. With the rapid development of high-performance computing systems more complex physical and mathematical models may be used. In this paper we describe the experience of full-wave seismic waves simulation in layered inhomogeneous medium the simple earthquake source model was used in 3D case. It allows us to reproduce the anisotropy of the registered seismic signal. the govern system of equations are solved numerically with the grid-characteristic method on structured meshes. To achieve a reasonable computation time, the parallel version of algorithms was applied. the spatial distribution of displacements on the sea surface was successfully simulated. © 2018 Vasily Golubev, Yulia Golubeva.

Important progress in computational sciences has been made possible recently thanks to the increasing computing power of high performance systems. Following this trend, larger scientific studies, like brain tissue simulations, will continue to grow in the future. In addition to the challenges of conducting these experiments, we foresee an explosion of the amount of data generated and the consequent unfeasibility of analyzing and understanding the results with the current techniques. this paper proposes Neurolytics, a new data analysis framework, together with a new data layout. the implementation of Neurolytics is mainly focused on simulation neuroscience, although we believe that our design can be applied to other science domains. the framework relies on big data technologies, like Apache Spark, to enable fast, reliable and distributed analyses of brain simulation data in this case. Our experimental evaluation on a cluster of 100 nodes shows that Neurolytics gets up to 374x speed-up compared to a thread-parallel Python implementation and is on par with a highly optimized Spark code. this demonstrates the suitability of our proposal to help scientists structure and understand the results of their experiments in a fast and efficient way.

Simulated and experimental data processing is an important issue in modern high-energy physics experiments. High interaction rate and particle multiplicity in addition to the long sequential processing time of million events are the main reasons to parallelize event processing on distributed computing systems for the NICA experiments. the paper presents one of the directions of distributed data processing: job scheduling for user task distribution on computing clusters. the software and hardware environments being used for the current workflow execution are briefly noted. the current MPD-Scheduler system developed to simplify parallel execution of user ROOT macros for simulation, reconstruction and data analysis is described in details. the practical values of the speedup for simulated event processing in the MPD experiment are shown. the possible workflow management systems being under discussion for the NICA experiments are also noted. © 2018 Konstantin V. the automotive industry is currently driven by three major trends - electrification, automation and connectivity [1]. these lead to an increasing complexity of the overall system and more interaction of the subsystems. In addition, there is a progressive shift from development tasks to suppliers, which goes hand in hand with parallel development of the subsystem. To cope with the challenges described above, development tasks should be frontloaded to earlier stages, while simultaneously maintaining the system context. this applies in particular to the validation activities. Validation is the central activity in the development process, since only in validation knowledge evolves [2]. As depicted in the following figure 1 engineers can choose from a broad landscape of validation environments, reaching from pure simulation to component testbeds to on-road testing. With the increasing share of physical components costs for validation typically rise. But also accuracy rises because modeling errors can be eliminated by replacing simulation modules with physical components. this paper proposes a fake comment recognition method based on time series and density peaks clustering. Firstly, an anomaly recognition model based on multi-dimensional time series is constructed. Secondly, according to the idea of multi-scale features, seven benchmark-scale and corresponding subdivision-scale features are extracted hierarchically, and further, 49 features are finally obtained. At last, an optimized detection model based on density peaks clustering is proposed for identifying the fake comments, so as to improve the anti-noise ability of our method. the effectiveness of our proposed method is verified by several experiments, with the AUC value reaching 92%. © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2018.

Coping with emergency situations requires effective and prompt decision-making under constantly changing situations. the deployment of various kinds of sensors makes it possible to acquire vast amounts of information. At present, however, most information processing is not automated;therefore, the quality of decision-making depends heavily on the capacities of the decision maker. To solve this problem, we propose a system for predicting future situations through parallel simulations based on observation data. To facilitate the development of such systems, we have been developing an optimistic simulation engine (hereafter referred to as O-SE) that supports parallel simulation of many possible situations and dynamic simulation modification based on observation data acquired by sensors. the design and evaluation results of the OSE are illustrated in this paper.

CFD simulations are a fundamental engineering application, implying huge workloads, often with dynamic behaviour due to runtime mesh refinement. parallel processing over heterogeneous distributed memory clusters is often used to process such workloads. the execution of dynamic workloads over a set of heterogeneous resources leads to load imbalances that severely impacts execution time, when static uniform load distribution is used. this paper proposes applying dynamic, heterogeneity aware, load balancing techniques within CFD simulations. nSharma, a software package that fully integrates with OpenFOAM, is presented and assessed. Performance gains are dem onstrated, achieved by reducing busy times standard deviation among resources, i.e., heterogeneous computing resources are kept busy with useful work due to an effective workload distribution. To best of authors' knowledge, nSharma is the first implementation and integration of heterogeneity aware load balancing in OpenFOAM and will be made publicly available in order to foster its adoption by the large community of OpenFOAM users.
