Biometric user authentication is at the core of multifactor authentication, and mouse-based biometric authentication comes at no additional cost for most computersystems. this paper describes a mouse-based user authentication scheme, called MAUSPAD, which uses a novel progress-adjusted dynamic time warping (PADTW) algorithm, along with a segmentation algorithm, to accurately and meaningfully measure the differences between observed data and reference data. By introducing a new concept, which we call progress, into standard DTW, the new PADTW can have better control of the warping and mapping process and hence is more suitable for comparing time-stamped spatial sequences such as mouse cursor movements. Furthermore, in order to preserve the important but transient details in the cursor movement (which may be critical in identifying a specific user), we apply a segmentation algorithm to divide each reference cursor movement into multiple smaller segments, and measure the differences between cursor movements at the segment level. Evaluation results on two mouse-behavior datasets show that MAUSPAD yields the best overall performance among tested schemes, and demonstrate the effectiveness of PADTW over DTW, and segmentation over non-segmentation. the processing techniques developed herein can be extended to applications that rely on sequence comparison, and where relevant sequence information spans multiple semantic domains.

Quasi-Z-Source inverter has the capacity to acquire any expected output voltage at conduction ratio less than 0.5. this paper presents a novel topology that derived from classic quasi-Z-source inverter (qZSI) to get soft switching status for the main switch. the control method for the upgraded qZSI helped to realize zero voltage switch (ZVS) for both main and auxiliary switches. the relative theory and working principles are given. Simulations in MATLAB/Simulink circumstance and experiments in prototype are designed to prove the proposed new method. the results guarantee the practicability of the whole system.

Heavy-duty vehicle security is critical to safeguarding the supply chain of essential goods and materials. Implementing a continuous driver authentication system based on unique driving behaviors enhances security through improved access control without the use of personally identifiable information (PII). this ensures that only authorized drivers operate the vehicle and reduces the risk of unauthorized use. Designing this complex system to reduce this risk can be done effectively through SysML modeling and MagicGrid systems modeling. through the use of systems modeling, this study was split into two main objectives. the first objective is to develop this driver authentication system by analyzing behavior patterns through three sets of vehicle sensor data: CANbus, GPS, and IMU data. these collect extensive vehicle data like vehicle speed, engine speed, pedal positions, location, and heading degree. this data is then used to train several different machine learning models to create a driver profile report for identity verification. the second objective is to run cyberattacks on the vehicle and analyze the driver’s behavior with physiological data like heart rate variability and withthe vehicle sensor data. the cyberattacks cause a malfunction on the vehicle’s instrument cluster by sending various messages to the CANbus. this is used to create a report on how drivers respond in high pressure conditions, which can be used to train drivers transporting hazardous material to react properly in these situations. the purpose of this paper is to show how the application of the MagicGrid method and SysML modeling improved the development of the stakeholder needs, requirements, use cases, and system structure.

In the proposed control, the capacitor voltage control of the cells, the loop current control and the output voltage command can realize for the objective operation. the power conditioning system (PCS) is widely used as a grid connected inverter for the photovoltaic system. the PCS applying a circuit construction of the modular multi-level converter (MMC) is investigated. the MMC is focused on as the transformer-less converter to realize light weight and downsizing. And it can be applied to a high voltage and high power converter with less distorted output by multi-level waveforms. it can be expected to apply for the mega solar system. the feature of the system is that output voltage becomes multilevel waveform for low distortion and the circuit has an energy storage system such as a battery or an super capacitor to compensate surplus or shortage power between input and output and oscillation of capacitor voltage. Flexible AC Transmission System (FACTS) is applied to manage a number of varied situations of the power line. the Unified Power Flow controller (UPFC) as one of the FACTS is used in order to keep conditions of the power line. the UPFC consists of two components. One is connected in parallel to the power line, and the other is connected in series. By the parallel system, the reactive power and 3-phase unbalance can be compensated to improve the power factor and to keep the common DC capacitor voltage constant. By the series component, the voltage drop can be compensated to maintain proper line voltage. In these operations, quick response is required in order to respond variable situations. In this study, the deadbeat (DB) control is applied for the advantage of quick response and easy setting without the gain design. the principle of the DB control, simulation results, and experimental results are presented for verification of its characteristics in this paper.

High definition (HD) camera is widely used in surveillance systems. An HD camera with optical zoom is useful for monitoring a large area. However, it is inconvenient for a user to manually controlthe optical zoom for a long time. To exploit the functionality and extend the application domains of a HD camera, the zooming should be controlled automatically. therefore, an automatic zooming mechanism is proposed in this paper. When the number of an object is small in the field of view (FOV) of the camera and an object is moving through the FOV, the zoom is controlled for capturing the object as clear as possible. A clear object image is useful for related image-based services, such as face recognition. In order to achieve the above goal, a Gaussian Mixture Model (GMM), temporal image differencing, a CamShift tracking method, and a Kalman filter are utilized for object detection and tracking. then, an adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) is used to learn and determine a suitable value for adjusting the zoom. According to the experimental study of the prototype, the results show that the proposed mechanism is useful to capture the clear images of moving objects in a practical environment. A face detection algorithm is also used to demonstrate the feasibility of the captured clear images.

Matrix differential equations are playing key roles in solving problems in many fields of study such as controltheory. control system theory is a branch of engineering that handles how to manipulate a dynamical system’s inputs to change the behavior or outcome of the system to something that is desired. controlsystems have been around at least as far back as the float-regulated water clock developed by the Greeks in the third century BC; however, controltheory as a branch of mathematics wasn’t explored until much later in the mid-19th century. Since that time, the theory has been used almost entirely by professional engineers and mathematicians. Coupled Riccati differential equations play distinguished role in the controltheory [2] (such as optimal control problem, stochastic control problem and other controltheory problems like the linear systems and dynamic games). Here, we consider a coupled Riccati differential equation and use an appropriate Green’s function to reduce it a Fredholm integral equation. Finally, we prove the existence of a periodic solution.
