this concise analysis examines the application of AI, particularly chatbots and natural language processing (NLP), to enhance maternal-infant healthcare in Spain and Brazil, where maternal mortality rates are significantly different, as well as birth rate and reproductive health planning or birth control. the application will be preliminary tested in complex situations regarding these two use cases. It highlights the integration of disruptive technologies into prenatal care, emphasizing the role of AI in facilitating personalized healthcare and self-management through data acquisition on health parameters, such as weight gain, blood pressure, incontinence, mental health, nutrition and physical activity. the study reflects on the impact of digital tools in optimizing patient engagement and early diagnosis of alarm symptoms, showcasing the potential of m-Health applications in transforming care practices and contributing to attaining Global Health Objectives for 2030. © 2024 the Authors. Web page segmentation plays a crucial role in analyzing and understanding the content of web pages, enabling various web-related tasks. the approaches based on computer vision and machine learning have limitations determined by the need of large datasets for training and validation. In this paper, we propose a Document Object Model (DOM) based approach that uses clustering algorithms for web page segmentation. By leveraging the hierarchical structure of the DOM, our approach aims to achieve accurate and reliable segmentation results. We conduct an empirical study, using a custom built dataset to compare the performance of different clustering algorithms for web segmentation. Our research objectives focus on dataset creation, features identification, distance metrics definition, and appropriate clustering algorithms selection. the findings provide insights into the effectiveness and limitations of our approach, enabling informed decision-making in real-world applications. the study uses a user-centered design methodology to develop a prototype for an interactive student dashboard that focuses on user needs. this includes iterative testing and integration of user feedback to develop a usable interface that presents academic data in a more understandable and intuitive manner. Key features of the dashboard include academic progress tracking and personalized recommendations based on machine learning. the primary target audience is online students who may study in isolation and have less physical contact with their peers. the learner dashboard (LD) will be developed as a plug-in to the university's learning management system. the study presents the results of a workshop with students experienced in human-computer interaction. they evaluated a prototype of the LD using established interaction principles. the research provides critical insights for future advancements in educational technology and drives the creation of more interactive, personalized, and easy-to-use tools in the academic landscape. Service-orientation recommends dividing software into separate independent services, with each service being implemented in the programming language that best fits into the service's problem space. However, data must be shared between the distributed services, so common data models and interfaces must be defined in each programming language used. this leads to a higher development effort and dependencies, while neglecting the benefits. this paper explains a new idea that arranges a distributed program as if it is a single one, even though it consists of different parts using possibly different programming languages. For this purpose, the idea of meta network programming languages is introduced. they are based on network machines and hide the complexity arising during development of distributed software. A compiler translates and distributes these programs by splitting them into several parts. As a result, this should reduce the overhead of developing distributed general purpose software. the intention of this position paper is to give new ideas to implement distributed programs in the future. Voice user interface (VUI) evaluation often focuses on user experience (UX) quality measurement of UX aspects for VUIs. However, it is crucial to differ among these UX aspects concerning their relevance to specific target groups, like different usage contexts, or user characteristics such as age. therefore, we identified potential age-specific characteristics and determine their nature, if any. We applied the Kano model using an age-segmentation to categorize these 32 UX aspects based on VUI user data (N = 384). Our findings reveal that UX aspects of VUIs are broadly consistent across all age groups, and VUI developers and researchers should consider the important ones. Intellectual analysis of small and middle-sized datasets through machine learning tools presents challenges in various application domains. Existing methods fail to provide sufficient accuracy, and their utilization is accompanied by a range of issues during data analysis. this paper proposes the improvement of the input doubling method for middle-sized data analysis. the existing method employs an augmentation procedure where the augmented data sample increases quadratically. this imposes several limitations on the method's usage for middle-sized data analysis. the authors propose enhancing this method by introducing an additional clustering procedure during data augmentation. the training algorithms and application methods are described, and a visualization of the main steps of its operation is provided. Modeling is performed on two medium-sized datasets. Optimal parameters for the improved method are selected, demonstrating its high efficiency. Specifically, significant reductions in the volumes of augmented datasets (8-9 times for both datasets respectively) are achieved, accompanied by substantial reductions in the training procedure duration of the method (more than 100 and 260 times for both datasets respectively), while maintaining high accuracy. © 2024 the Authors. the present demand for cloud computing is driven by its scalability and adaptability, making it widely employed in enterprises. A Service Level Agreement (SLA) is a contractual arrangement between cloud providers and clients that ensures the stated level of services will be available. In order to evaluate the compliance of the services to the SLA, it is critical to monitor the availability of the cloud services. Cloud service companies offer several monitoring tools. However, such assessments are often influenced by bias, which prompts demands for impartial assessment of service level agreements (SLAs). the objective of this study is to address the issue of monitoring service availability characteristics, specifically uptime and downtime, in relation to SLA. To achieve this, a monitoring tool called SLA Analyser is proposed. the solution comprises a centralised application that generates and collects data in the primary registry database, along with a compliance report generator that computes cloud service availability using previously gathered data and compares it to the SLA availability parameter. An illustrative report is generated based on the gathered and processed data. this study specifically addresses the reliable assessment of SLA for both clients and service providers. Moreover, this study analyses the challenges associated with SLA monitoring and the repercussions of neglecting its assessment. this approach is particularly essential to organisations that use many cloud services from various vendors. the SLA Analyser was employed to monitor the availability of the cloud database services. In order to mitigate financial losses and uphold a positive reputation for consumer confidence, it is essential to validate the SLA. © 2024 by SCITEPRESS – science and Technology Publications, Lda.

In the context of digital transformation defining Industry 4.0, the integration of Industrial Artificial Intelligence (I-AI) emerges as a transformative element, promoting the development, validation, and deployment of machine learning algorithms in industrial applications. As sensor technologies advance, reducing costs and expanding the capability for direct data collection from machines, there arises a need for system architectures that not only support but also optimize these data collection and analysis processes. this paper introduces an innovative reference architecture for I-AI, which stands out by advancing beyond the traditional 5-layer (5C) framework through the addition of a sixth layer, named"Consciousness". this innovative layer is designed to retroactively feed the knowledge acquired back to the previous layers, significantly enhancing control and optimization through AI systems. the proposed architecture, termed 6C, comprises the layers of Connection, Conversion, Cyber-Physical, Cognition, Configuration, and finally, Consciousness. the introduction of the Consciousness layer marks a significant innovation in the literature, offering a mechanism by which the architecture is capable of autonomously perceiving the state and needs of the industrial system. Validated in an industrial case study, the 6C architecture demonstrated performance improvement by incorporating the Consciousness layer, highlighting its effectiveness in enhancing operational efficiency and decision-making within complex industrial contexts © 2024 by SCITEPRESS – science and Technology Publications, Lda.

the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) plays a critical role in the development of smart cities, and the traffic control capability of ITS requires accurate traffic flow prediction as the footstone. Due to the neglect of the dissimilarities between lanes, existing traffic flow prediction methods like T-GCN are intractable to capture the dynamic changes of traffic flow direction, lane relationship, etc. therefore, studies are shifting their concern to lane-level traffic flow prediction for tackling with more complicated scenarios. However, how to handle temporal-spatial correlation and model heterogeneous data effectively is still a challenge. In this paper, we propose a heterogeneous graph convolution model based on dynamic graph generation to address the issue. the model consists of three components. the internal graph convolution network captures the real-time spatial dependency between lanes in terms of generated dynamic graphs. the external heterogeneous data fusion network comprehensively considers other parameters such as lane speed, lane occupancy, and weather conditions. the codec neural network utilizes a temporal attention mechanism to capture the deep temporal dependency. Substantial experiments based on two real-world datasets indicate that the proposed heterogeneous graph convolution model can improve prediction accuracy. © 2021 IEEE.

We have created a solution called PMI-Chain to address the challenges faced by Electronic Medical Records (EMR) management systems. these challenges include data security, patient privacy, and access regulation, which are becoming increasingly complex. PMI-Chain is a blockchain-based system that aims to tackle these issues. Traditional EMR systems rely on centralized medical data storage, exposing them to risks such as cyberattacks and data breaches and reducing patient autonomy over their medical records. PMI-Chain is a secure and confidential data-sharing platform for patients, medical institutions, and insurance companies. It uses token-based smart contracts and dual ElGamal homomorphic encryption to protect vast amounts of medical data while allowing for reliable sharing among institutions. Patients have control over their encrypted medical records, and an advanced encryption scheme keeps their information private during insurance claim processing. PMI-Chain has undergone security analysis and testing, showcasing its robust security features and exceptional stability. Additionally, compared to other available solutions, it boasts a 44% and 67% reduction in encryption and decryption time overhead. © ICST Institute for computer sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering 2024.
