this paper presents a study on applying online machine-learning models to estimate the processing times of different production tasks for dynamic scheduling problems. Specifically, various machine-learning approaches and their impact on the schedule quality are evaluated. A discrete event simulation of a production process was created, with different functions determining processing time. this production simulation was optimized with the OERAPGA optimization algorithm. Based on the experiments, the performance of different machine learning models was assessed. Moreover, the speed and prediction quality of these models and their resulting optimization quality were evaluated. Results showed that the speed of evaluation plays a more significant role in optimization quality than prediction accuracy, as the optimizer seems to be focused on optimizing macroscopic aspects of the production schedule. © the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

this study proposes a hybrid deep learning approach to address the complexity and dynamic characteristics of modern network environments. the research integrates Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) and Convolutional Long and Short-Term Memory (ConvLSTM) networks to predict future network traffic and detect cyberattacks. the model was trained and evaluated on the CICIDS 2018 dataset which includes various types of normal and malicious traffic. Grid-based representations were created from the dataset. the attack type of each timestamp were visualized using distinct colors to the grid images. these images are sued as input of ConvLSTM model. Protocol and destination port are modeled as nodes in a graph, with volume of data flow represented as weighted edges. this graph-based representation is designed to capture unique traffic patterns of specific services and enhance the analysis of spatial and temporal features. Experimental results show a 13% increase in macro F1 score and a 4% increase in weighted F1 score, highlighting the effectiveness of the proposed method. this research highlights its potential to enable proactive responses through the prediction of potential cyberattack occurrences.

When looking for certain kinds of software bugs, successive versions of software are compared. Performance-related bugs are a notable example. Methods used for detecting such bugs are, however, expensive and need to be applied carefully. At the same time, current software development is rapid, with new software versions released everyday. In this paper, we aim at two particular ways how to optimize difference analyses of performance (but possibly other aspects of the software too) of successive software versions. Namely, we propose (1) an efficient layered representation of the program control flow spanning across the program history, and (2) methods for efficient matching of pairs of corresponding functions in different software versions and for selecting those whose differential analysis should be performed. We have implemented our approach and performed experiments on two selected versions of the CPython project. the results indicate that our approach is a promising direction for improving the performance analysis of real world programs. © the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

Adverse drug reactions (ADRs) remain a crucial challenge in healthcare systems, highly contributing to patient mortality. We present an innovative smart pharmacy system that utilizes advanced large language models (LLMs) to enhance drug safety and pharmacy operational efficiency. Our system integrates real-time data from patient's prescriptions, medication databases, and electronic health records (EHR) to automate the detection of potential drug interactions, optimizing clinical decision-making and reducing ADR-related risks. the system's architecture is designed to easily manage prescription processing for patients, inventory management and control, and Pharmacist consultations through an intelligent chatbot interface. Key features include real-time tracking of medication expiration and inventory levels, an interaction checker API for identifying and mitigating risky drug combinations, and an LLM-powered chatbot for accurate data analysis and visualization. By combining advanced computational techniques with AI-driven insights, our smart pharmacy system not only improves medication safety but also eases pharmacy operations. this transformative approach holds the potential to significantly reduce ADR-related hospital admissions and enhance overall healthcare delivery. Our research underscores the vital role of AI and LLMs in modern pharmacy practice, offering an inclusive solution that integrates easily into existing healthcare infrastructures. the proposed smart pharmacy system can be plugged into hospital EHR systems to automatically track patient medications.

Battery technology is advancing due to the demand of safe energy storage in systems such as Electric Vehicles (EVs) and portable electronics systems. Estimating battery conditions and increasing the range of electric vehicles requires specific models and optimize control strategies. Anticipate battery performance is complicated due to several variables, such as temperature, deterioration, and usage models. Knowing battery performance entails an advanced understanding of time series analysis, particularly forecasting. this study proposes the use of Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) to create a Lithium Ion Battery (LIB) prediction model. the experiments were carried out in a 59.2 VDC, 120 Ah LIB, recording the voltage and temperature while simulating the charge and discharge. A hybrid model is developed with internal local models using clustering. the model prognostic the State of Charge (SOC) evolution and reach a Mean Squared Errors with values between 10-3 and 10-4. this research shows that hybrid models are adecuated instrument for predict the battery SOC. © the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

this paper presents an alternative for level control in three coupled tanks, using a feed-forward control structure. the mathematical model for the lab installation is developed and the model is tuned by comparing its output with the real output of the lab rig. A comparative analysis of PI control and feed-forward control is presented.

Reactive, multi-agent systems are used in a variety of complex tasks where the interactions are so complex that only imprecise description can be given from the beginning of the development. However, when decision times are important, several new aspects must be taken into consideration. this paper analyzes some of the problems arising in an implementation of Real Time multiagent systems by treating the communication between agents and by proposing of a new way of leader emergence based on information and position.
