Phase change memory (PCM) has emerged as a promising candidate to replace DRAM in embedded systems. However, it can only sustain a limited number of write operations. To solve this issue, this paper proposes a novel and effective wear-leveling technique in software level to prolong the lifetime of PCM-based embedded systems. A polynomial-time algorithm, Multi-Space Wear Leveling Algorithm (MWL), is proposed to achieve effective wear-leveling. the experimental results show our technique can greatly extend the lifetime of PCM-based embedded systems compared withthe previous work. Compared withthe method without adopting wear-leveling, it introduces no more than 0.7% extra writes and 0.6% running overhead.

Network performance in high-performance computing environments such as supercomputers and Grid systems takes a role of great importance in deciding the overall performance of computation. However, most Job Management systems (JMSs) available today, which are responsible for managing multiple computing resources for distribution and balancing of a computational workload, do not consider network awareness for resource management and allocation. In this paper, the authors briefly overview our proposed and prototyped network-aware JMS that can allocate an appropriate set of computing and network resources to a job request. Also, we evaluate the usefulness and effectiveness of our proposal. Experiments conducted withthe prototype implementation imply that our proposed network-aware JMS could reduce job execution time by 23.4 percent.

In this paper we propose a medium access control protocol for single-hop cognitive radio network which distributes the contention for channel access onto respective channel instead of common control channel. the design utilizes rendezvous channel as a media for distributing information about the nodes and channels in the network. the distribution of contention on different channels mitigate the harmful effects of control channel saturation. the proposed protocol also caters the quality of service need for different applications by prioritizing packets accordingly. Simulation is done to evaluate the performance of the proposed protocol.
